Beautiful ambiance and absolutely fantastic view over Manhatten. The restaurant itself is a classic and ambiance is classical / conservative as well.
Fine dining and also expensive.
Outstanding service from the coats’ check-in to the waiter. The food was marvelous and so is the view. I look forward to go there for dinner this time.
This my top spot in New York for any special event. The overall experience is unsurpassed: Ambiance, Service, Food and location, location! I can highly recommend this fine establishment!
Gleich unter der Brooklyn Bridge mit herrlichem Blick auf Manhattan.Perfekter Service, exzellentes Essen, ideal für romantisches Essen, gerne immer wieder.
Anniversary dinner, everything was perfect.
Beautiful setting and ambiance, immaculate service and great food - the 1 Michelin star is justified. A little over-priced but still worth the experience once in a while.
We came to the River Café to celebrate our recent engagement and it could not have been more perfect. The staff was courteous and polite, the food was impeccable and served the best lamb I had ever experienced. The restaurant provided an outstanding experience, and it is quite obvious why they have a Michelin star. I simply can’t wait to go back.
Amazing food and service. The chef was able to make most of the dishes gluten free for me. Chocolate Brooklyn Bridge was scrummy!
Everything was wonderful from beginning to end!! I would totally recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Fantastic!! We were stuck in traffic. 45 minutes late. And they took great care of us. And accomadated. Our late arrival. Best evening ever!!!
I was really disappointed with the seating arrangements. We were sat at the opposite side of the window when there were open tables that were next to the window. I chose this restaurant strictly based off of the view and I did not have one. Extremely disappointed
Wonderful dinner. This is our special event celebration place. Great food and service.
Beautiful setting. Creative food presentation. Delicious!
Anniversary for us was beautiful
Perfect. From the flower filled entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge dessert. Perfect. Thank you Buzzy.
El servicio y la comida fue espectacular!!!! Muchísimas gracias por todo, fue realmente una experiencia de excelencia
I was there with friends who did visit NYC for the first time and we had a table right next to the windows. Great, spectacular view to Manhattan's Skyline! Very courteous staff not only at the table but also at the reception and bar. Starting with a drink at the bar until our table was ready and enjoyed the view. Delicious menu and an excellent wine recommendation by the sommelier. If there's a negative point at all, then at most the noise level… but that may depend on the day/guests. It was my fifth stay in NYC and my fifth visit at the River Cafe and it was not my last visit for sure!
Wonderful experience! Have wanted to go there for quite some time. They did not disappoint. From the ambiance to the food to the service. Everything was terrific. Our server Jed was the best! We will be back.
I would recommend the River Cafe to anyone looking for a super special meal in a special place. Food, staff, view are perfect. I live here and am sorry it took me all these years to get here. Hint:best way to go to brunch is via the NYC Ferry.
Fabulous food impeccable service
All the staff made the visit extra special
I went to The River Cafe in 2016 and had a great experience. My guest and I always do the 6-course chef's tasting with the wine pairing. In 2016 it was impeccable, from the food to the wine to the service. Perfect. Fast forward to 2019 and we were treated as if it was a surprise we were at the restaurant. I had to ask for the 6-course menu (which they had no copy of) and I had to ask for the wine pairing. When I requested both for the table, the waiters acted taken aback by my request. It was insulting. I felt as if we were being rushed in and out. Which was obvious with the changes to the dining room and the cramped space. The River Cafe has lost its appeal. I eat at Michelin restaurants all over the world and I won't be going back to TRC anymore.
Wonderful service, outstanding food, as always.
Worth every accolade it has received. View, service, food all spectacular. Take the relatively new NYC Ferry. The landing is directly next door.
From the minute you walk thru the door you are treated like royalty. The staff and service are outstanding. The food and view can't be beat.
Once again on our visit to New York we dined in what has become one of our favourite restaurants, I must add, worldwide. From our first visit in the middle 80's the River Cafe has become a ritual on our regular New York trips. We never have a problem recommending it to whomever we know is going to New York. Yes we survived the barren years after Hurricane Sandy and returning was like welcoming an old friend. On this visit once again, from the recognition nod from Dom at the piano, when we have our pre-dinner cocktail, to a table with the finest view anywhere we once again enjoyed fantastic food with excellent service. The tuna carpaccio special was perfect, pear salad delicious and the crab cakes second to none I must admit that I now find on my NY visits that the only place I eat steak is here and the strip sirloin is the best The black bass eaten by my wife was heavenly. Again this is a restaurant where you have to eat desert and although the soufflé does take a little time it is well worth the wait. For those a little more adventurous and a liking for chocolate the Brooklyn Bridge is highly recommended. We had excellent wines to complement our meals but unfortunately the evening was rather tarnished by the fact that the Maître d’ ,when bringing our check, announced “For the benefit of our international guests we have already added the service charge “ We were understandably annoyed. Did he assume that because we were not from New York we did not understand the concept of tipping? We have probably been visiting this restaurant for more years than he has been alive! We found this totally patronising and would ask that please this practice be dropped as in our opinion it is no better then the rude comment one gets in diners from the waiting staff who want to make sure that foreigners do tip!
Wonderful service, view, food!!!! Should be on everyone's to do list!!
Perfect in every way for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We can’t wait to return, hopefully sooner than another ten years.
Perfect site We chose the 3-course menu, and with the starters they put on and repeat drinks we ended up paying $ 450, but it was worth it. My mother told me it was the most beautiful dinner she had ever had. Perfect live pianist. We asked to be at the window and they put us there as soon as there was a free table. And the views are ... amazing
The River Cafe next disappoints! The food, ambiance & setting is unmatched. A bit pricey but perfect for a special occasion!
Beautiful setting over the East River and under the Brooklyn Bridge. We have been here before for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Quiet piano music ( and he never took a break all night).
Walked from A train Brooklyn Bridge subway stop after Wednesday matinee of Hamilton. Food was outstanding and it is very expensive $$. Worth it !
Great nite fabulous food, service and views.
The river cafe was a wonderful experience. The food was delectable and service did not fail to disappoint. The only concern we had is that the mela was on the expensive end. This won’t be a monthly spot but is amazing for special occasions.
Beautiful setting, amazing service, delicious food
Un sitio extraordinario me encanto , lo unico un poco caro, pero esto es lo que hay..
The overall price level is not ok compared to what you get. Service is not very friendly only quick
The entire experience was absolutely amazing! The restaurant itself is very pretty with so many fresh flowers outside of the place and also inside the restaurant, on the dining table. Then, the waiter and waitress are super nice and friendly. Josh is the best, who served is champagne and complimentary desserts! I feel welcome and special!!
The view of Brooklyn bridge is the highlight but anything else is really outstanding, food is great!
This restaurant was recommended by a friend. I was visiting NYC with my 16 and 19 yr old grandkids and decided to treat them to something special...and indeed it was! The decor and setting is lively, food was beautifully presented and service impeccable. Since I’m a piano teacher as well...I’d comment that the live piano music was great. The only criticism I’d have is, that for the price, it would have been good if coffee/tea etc were included in the buffet cost.
