Amazing experience, Perfect place.. I love it!"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Second time here - such a special place. An amazing setting and the food and service is second to none.
Great location, outstanding view, valet parking. We liked everything.
However, some tables are too close to others. I wanted to have romantic time with my husband, but I felt like we're sitting with people next to us. And second, we love foie gras, but it's like patte, so its ok.
Exceptional dinner, fantastic service and the most beautiful view in the city!
It was my first time coming to this restaurant to celebrate my girlfriend birthday. To be honest, everything went great. The atmosphere was nice, the service was outstanding. They do care about your feeling about the food that you eat. The food was pretty good, especially the wagyu beef tart. Even though it was raw, I still like the texture of it. The taste was great, not too salty and not too plain, it was right in the middle. Also, the bread that serve with the beef was nice. Well toasted and the experience on eating raw beef with the bread was really intriguing. The main course that I got was branzino, I wasn’t a big fan of fish but the way they cook it was brilliant. The skin was crunchy and the meat was soft. It gave a nice texture to it and it’s best to eat it with the sliced cucumber and sauce. It take the taste to another level. Anyway, I really enjoy eating in the River Cafe and I might visit there again sometime in the future. Thanks for the taking a good care of us and wish you guys a good day.
We absolutely LOVE River Cafe! It's a bit spendy cab/Uber ride from Midtown to Brooklyn but well worth it for a special occasion. The dining room overlooks the water and it simply beautiful. They offer 2 menus - 3 courses for $125 and another that is a wine pairing where the food changes and is decided on by the chef (cant remember price for that). We opted for the 3 courses - Crab cake appetizer, Lobster main course and the Brooklyn Bridge chocolate mousse desert, which is amazing! It was a wonderful evening and we will be back!
Iconic spot on the east estuary under the Brooklyn Bridge. We requested a window seat overlooking the water but they said they cannot reserve seats but to ask the maître d' when we check in. We arrived early and asked if possible and told them we were more than happy to wait a bit for something to come available seeing it was our anniversary.
We sat the the bar and enjoyed the piano music and views. Lovely spot...excellent service you would expect from top notch restaurant. The maître d' came to greet us and told us he was working on it...we did wait a bit longer but didn't matter as the drinks were flowing and environment a good one.
Service upon seating (at the window) was excellent. Well attended and we were presented with several amuse bouche compliments of the chef (which was probably standard but a nice touch). The food was phenomenal and the evening a great success.
Fantastic experience with excellent food and exceptional service.
Everything was great and done well.
Food was wonderful as well as the wine.
The staff is so professional and welcoming
And the view !Stunning!
I will be back for sure this is a dreamy place😃
An unbeatable location but a very serious work on ingredients and quality. Excellent sommelier&winelist and very professional and cordial service. A great cosy&refibed atmosphere thanks to good live piano and the gorgeous flower garden. The ideal NYC treat
Good to be back after so many years. Exceptionally friendly service and great quality food. 100% worth their Michelin star. Nice collection of wines also.
I loved it all: service, place, ambience and food. I felt totally pampered. The food is so tasteful and well served; the staff is very friendly.
Food was amazing and it was a lovely touch with the candle on the Brooklyn Bridge dessert for our birthday celebration.
Such a great place particularly for any celebration. View is fantastic too.
Beautiful setting; friendly staff, great meal.
Superb as always. One of a kind in NYC.
We spent nearly $700 on dinner for 3. My meal was carrots and pasta. My entree was cold and I needed to send it back to get heated up. In a diner, okay, but for $180?! Another dining mate ordered a steak medium rare--and it was literally raw and inedible. He showed it to a waiter and the waiter agreed. The restaurant was lovely, and they nicely moved us to a table near the window for dessert. I will definitely never, ever, ever go there again. It was so overpriced. The food was not special.
Over the top in every way.
Whether you're a local or visiting NYC, if you're looking for a memorable dining experience with exceptional service, ambiance, quality and views, make sure to include the River Cafe. Our favorite 'special occasion' restaurant.
Beste Qualität der Küche, perfekter Service, exzellente Lage
The food, location and wait staff were great. The exception was a reasonable heavy set Asian gentleman who cleared the table, brought bread - seemed more of an aid. He stood over the table, bumped into my husband (no apology) and accidentally brushed my breast (also no apology).
The biggest kicker was payment. My husband forgot his wallet - totally his bad. But Apple Pay should have worked and did not and we were told my hostess it would. Neither would you accept direct deposit to bank account. This meant we were deeply embarrassed and held up for an hour while we contacted NZ to release my husband’s credit card details over the phone. The alternative we were told was for “one of us to taxi back to Manhattan for the card”. Pretty outrageous way to treat people after a $600 meal and not what can be called service.
Outstanding service and great food ! Excellent for special occasions recommended to anyone
Always a memorable experience. Fantastic food , service and views.
Some of the best service and food I have had. Great view of the Manhattan skyline, ask for a window table if possible.
Amazing from start to finish. Felt like stepping back into a more glamorous time. Food, service, setting, everything was absolutely perfect
Absolutely one of the best Dinning experience of my life. The service was impeccable, friendly and efficient. Nothing could have been better.
The food was good but it was served to fast. We hardly finished one dish before the next one was served. Also we didn’t get any explanation about the wines they served and very little explanation on the food. I don’t want to be rushed out of a Michelin star restaurant.
impeccable service & food. it was such an amazing experience here & looking forward to coming back in the future!
Wow...we were WOWED @ the River Cafe today @ Sunday Brunch!
Starting with the manager who made possible my party of 7, an increase from 6!
The River Cafe restaurant is nestled right under the Bklyn Bridge, easy commute from NY, NJ, Staten Island. The restaurant offers spectacular views of the Bklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline! ✅They provide valet parking to patrons with a reservation✅
The service by EVERYONE...friendly personal attention...attentive hostess and staff that caters to your every need ... just amazing! ✅ It is clear that they work hard at the Customer Experience to keep patrons returning.
Now the food...the food!!! 3 words...delicious, tasty, creative!✅
Yes, it’s a but pricey, but the overall experience made it well worth it!! We will definitely be back next summer for dinner!✅
If you really care for your significant other and want to have an amazing time in NYC, then you most certainly should consider bringing them to the River Cafe. (S)he won't be disappointed😀 Exquisite food and outstanding service all round!... and what a great sight to boot! Bring something warm in case you wish to spend 5-15 mins outside on the observation deck.
THE POSITION , THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD WERE ALL EXCELLENT
THE AMBIENCE WAS THE POOREST I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN A HIGH-END RESTAURANT. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY TABLES, AND HENCE THE NOISE LEVEL IS UNACCEPTABLY HIGH. SOMETIMES I HAD TO RAISE MY VOICE SO THAT MY WIFE COULD HEAR ME, AND THERE IS NO PRIVACY WITH REGARD TO ADJACENT TABLES. THE STAFF APPEARED TO BE STRUGGLING TO NEGOTIATE THE AVAILABLE FLOORSPACE.
WHEN YOU PAY $600 FOR A MEAL OUT YOU EXPECT MUCH BETTER. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOUR RESTAURANT TO FRIENDS, I'M AFRAID
Always the absolute best from beginning to end. The ambiance, the food, the service...a very special place. Worth every penny.
Our second time there. The view is amazing! The food is delicious. The decor is romantic and very beautifull!!!
Wonderful environment with incredible views of the city. Everything we tried was delicious. Service perfect. Price as expected.
The food and the service are excellent.
Valet parking is a nice extra bonus.
I love the piano player.
It's a world of leisure and indulgence. Everyone should get the chance to experience it.
I noted on my reservation that we are celebrating my friend’s birthday. They did not ask if it’s any special occasion. We ordered the Brooklyn bridge cake, while others tables have candles and “happy birthday” written on their cake, our wasn’t. Very disappointing service.
The restaurant was over price the chairs was not contruble the person how take my order was horrible i will never going back and never recommend this restaurants
What a load of overpriced tut. Bang average food. Bang average cheap wine. Two for dinner $830. Total joke
Wonderful. Didn’t get the window seat I asked for months ago but I know everyone asks for their special occasion. I would like if you noted that we have been going for special occasions for 15 years and recognize us with a “welcome back”. That’s all..... you don’t have to give us anything else special.
