What Insiders Are Saying
A special-occasion restaurant on the Brooklyn waterfront.
1 Estrella michelin a precio de 3 estrellas.
Ambiente ciudado y elegante.
Su punto fuerte, la ubicacion y vistas inigualables.
Calidad de la comida, muy alta.
Lo peor su elevado precio.
the server and the staff rushing our date. feel like you're paying per hour instead of paying for the food and experience. the staff show a lot of interest on us to eat fast rather to offer outstanding service
It was a Birthday dinner that was absolutely the best ever , food , service, table , staff were there best!
A beautiful way to start the day. Wonderful service and a wonderful view and breakfast too.
This place is amazing! Cannot recommend it enough. If you go, you HAVE to have the avocado on toast. It's.frickin.amazing.
Amazing food and setting is sublime. Magical evening
Probably the most awkward service mannerisms I’ve encountered. The place is comically stuck acting out an ‘80s-esque perception of how fine dining experiences should be. But the food was amazing.
One of my all-time favorites did not disappoint - AGAIN. Nestled right under the Brooklyn Bridge, it is a unique and fairytale experience. Beautifully appointed for the holidays, it offered a magical welcome for our dinner only to be matched by the service at the bar and table. The food meets the criteria for the Michelin ranking and the ambiance is cozy and comforting! Perfect for that special occasion or to make that romantic impression!
Dinner was amazing! We sat in the formal dining room and our table had a great view of the bridge and city. Service was top notch.
Despite the restaruant emailing to confirm our reservation and expressed their dress code is formal attire. Surprisingly, a party was seated around us with someone wearing a hoodie and ripped denim jeans. Regardless, dinner and the experience was memorable.
We look forward to returning. Thank you!
We had Breakfast here and it was superb, it was my wife's 50th birthday and we were treat like royalty, I would whole heartedly recommend The River Café
We celebrated our sins
A very solid 10/10. A place with amazing vibes. The view was beautiful. Food was very tasty and delicious. The staff were amazing, very friendly and detail-described the food that they served. Would definitely recomend.
Extraordinary experience from the time we hit the front door and got only better with the many personal interactions we had with the staff ! All timely , friendly and comfortably professional from the Bartender knowing exactly how to make two cocktails that aren’t all that common to the wait staff who brought a “ pocketbook stand “ right next to our table .
My wife is a great chef and high end foodie and the food choices , presentation and mostly importantly the quality and overall taste and experience had her taking pictures of the food and the menu description! Dessert was excellent as was the simple cup of black coffee I ordered with it ! One suggestion to help the out of town tourists... talk to UBer about connecting directly to you site — so either in the way there or out you can hit your website and the Uber symbols and you are on your way !
Not cheap but the most perfect way to end to our stay in New York -Fabulous Cocktails, Food & Wine with first class service. Welcoming, friendly and the most romantic supper venue with absolutely stunning views across the river . Loved it xx
Everything went perfect until I decided to ask the host ( guy called Jess I think) to move us to a table with a sea view. You won’t believe it but he told me that we should “help” each other in order to get the table. That’s right he asked for money so I could get that table. It is just not fair. Acc to the website those table are handed over to those people who arrive fist and there were two tables for 2 available. I spent 500 box in the restaurant and I don’t think I should give more money to get the table. Apart from that everything went fine.
We have been to the River Cafe several times, and it has always been a wonderful experience. This time was no different. The food was excellent and the service was terrific. The price of the meal is not inexpensive the value is more than worth it.
This is an overpriced restaurant that is coasting on its location. There is a fine balance between professional and aloof wait staff service. The staff fail in this respect. We felt that we were doing the staff a favour by dining at their restaurant. The rabbit starter was good. The 3 Shell starter was very disappointing. Way too much dressing on the oyster completely overpowered it. The Branzino was excellent. The lobster was ordinary at best. Chewy lobster and over cooked risotto. The soufflé was a disappointing flavour and under cooked. The Brooklyn Bridge looked good on the plate was just average to taste. To be fair when we mentioned our feedback the restaurant offered us a free drink at the bar. A nice touch but couldn’t make up for the disappointing experience. Overall we were unimpressed and would not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent restaurant. The food and service were exceptional. The view is spectacular.
Highly recommend It!
The service was outstanding and food was exquisite. We were celebrating our wedding day and they went above and beyond to make our afternoon memorable. The view is phenomenal, it is a must experience when in NYC
We loved brunch. The service is first rate. The food is gorgeous as is the setting. A glass of orange juice is $16 dollars which I think is a bit steep. However we really enjoyed the overall experience.
Eccellente ! Ambiente superiore e pietanze di qualità
Awesome place great service food and ambiance highly recommend
Amazing restaurant superb service great ambiance unbelievable food what more can you ask for
Unbelievable experience every time we go!
Patrick and Josh are so friendly and accommodating!
The food is beyond wonderful and the sommeliers are very knowledgeable.
It is one of our favorite restaurants to go to!!
Wonderfull athmophere, beatifull decoration, breathtaking view, excellent staff and excellent food
Gotta be the best views in the whole of nyc
Everyone who interacted with us, the parking valets, coat check girl, bartender, Maitre’d and waitstaff were cordial and quick. My wife’s gluten free diet was accommodated as was my aversion of nuts and seeds. The room was decorated beautifully. The room wasn’t over crowded. We were very pleased with the ambiance. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The portions are not large. There will be no leftovers but, you will not leave hungry. The bill was quite high but, it was an overall great dining experience.
Great table next to window with Brooklyn Bridge behind us. Great meal!!
A fantastic restaurant with amazing views of brooklyn bridge and amazing food! Well worth a visit. Our highlight of our holiday in NYC
Incredible experience. The food and service was outstanding with amazing views . Very expensive but well worth it for a special occasion.
Good. But the price is high and the food isn’t special
A lot of staff... a little pretentious... it’s by the river, but that shouldn’t be the only thing about a restaurant. The food was good, the music forgettable.
No real interaction between us and wait staff. Authenticity and warmth are what make an experience.
Never been for brunch before and it was truly spectacular, especially the lobster and tamale dish. And the special truffle ricotta gnudi. The service is always attentive. And the buzz on Christmas Eve Eve was pitched perfectly with the pianist’s seasonal tunes.
Great view of the river and the bridge from the bar and the restaurant was very festive for the holiday season. The bartenders were very knowledgable and pleasant as was the rest of the staff. Since it was my first time there what good to order for dinner and he recommended the NY Strip steak with bone marrow side, which is one of my favorites and I was told by many people the steak here was great so I thought I was In for a treat. However , I didn't read the fine print on the menu which said" Bone Marrow Flavored Potatoes"??????? Why ruin good bone marrow. First they brought my appetizer , Steak Tartare which was good and my girl friend had tortelinni which was fine, then lobster for the main course which was just ok.....then the main course arrived and they served me lamb chops ...honest mistake...so I waited for the steak and was truly dissapointed, especially with the bone marrow. I sent both back and asked for the check which the manager removed the cost of my dinner without hesitation....maybe I'll be back in the summer.
