Here, in the heart of downtown St. Paul, you’ll find an upscale, contemporary twist on casual dining. A place where hot, wood-fired pizzas come straight from the brick oven, and craft cocktails come straight from a classically trained mixologist. A place where you can grab a friend, grab a drink, and game on.

I understand it might be hard to find staff but on a huge concert night to only have two servers before and after the concert left much to be desired. Terrible high squeal in vents.

Good food! We had 10 people there so I understand having to wait on food, but our food took 40 minutes which was a little excessive. The waitress was amazing though, and the food was good.

The food took a while to get to our table, but otherwise everything was fabulous. The couch potato burger is a must have

I was pretty disappointed for the entire experience. We order extra dry vodka martini's that unfortunately had vermouth in them but we let that go. We had the deviled eggs as a starter and they were quite creamy with some nice bite to them. We ordered a burger and a salad. Asked for lots of pink in the burger which came to us well-done. The Chopped salad we ordered wasn't chopped per se and it was drowning in dressing. We sent the burger back for another one with pink. Even the second go-round the burger was overcooked, the bun stale, the bacon hard. Our server was doing her best but she seemed to have too many tables without any support from other employees who looked like they had nothing to do.

The service was good and the food tasty. I had the chili which had a unique twist and was very enjoyable. My only complaint was the menu on their website didn't match their menu on-site. I was going for the drunken mussels but they weren't on the current menu as well as some other great sounding items. I will definitely be back.

Great family place! The kids really enjoyed the air hockey, bubble hockey, and ski ball. The food was also more upscale than what I would expect as typical bar fare. Will definitely be going back, with or without kids!

Overall, just meh. We were seated in a corner, which would have been great for conversation, but it took forever for a server to acknowledge us. It wasn’t crowded, even on a Saturday evening. Pizza crust was a little burnt. When it’s the only place you can get in before an event at the excel center, it works. If you have other options, you can do better.

The food was really good and our table was ready for us early. We went there before the wild game and the server acted like she was surprised that it was busy. Isn't that what people do before a game? Took a long time for service and took a very long time to receive our food after we ordered it. We got there almost 2 hours before the game and we were almost late for the puck drop.

Went here since we got a $3 app & free beer for AJ Monsour winning initials on KFAN. Food was very good and the server was friendly. He made me sweat a bit when he acted like the app & beer promo wasn't a thing, but otherwise he was fun and otherwise no complaints. Will definitely be back!

The pizza was delivered not just a little overdone but outright blackened. I would have been ashamed to serve it. We were told to ask for it lightly done next time. Not a concern. There won't be one.

Good wait staff. Couch potato burger was really good. Pizza looked good but I didn’t have it.
This is part of a hotel which always makes me worry that the food won’t be great and it will be overpriced but that was not the case. Fun atmosphere if you’re in downtown St. Paul.

We booked ahead of show in St Paul, plenty early, and it was a good thing! Service was mediocre and, while the food was good, the wait was long for what we ordered. Perhaps this was not a fit for our needs...there were groups that appeared to be having fun and the environment was definitely upbeat.

Pizzas are always good! Disappointed you no longer have a drink list. And, it seems like no matter which beer my husband orders, you are out.

Fun atmosphere with many games available to entertain you while waiting for food. Margarita pizza wasn't bad but not my favorite. Service was very good. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard and previously played ping pong in the back room. Probably a good place to watch sports.

We went there before a concert and luckily had time to kill. The service was extremely slow... had to get our own drinks from the bartender and go out of our way to flag our server down every time we needed him. An appetizer took 40 minutes, and the pizza came out 10 minutes after that. The food was good but plan for a very long dinner since it takes forever to get anything served to you.

There are real positives. We had great service from our server. Air hockey. Ski ball. A decent bourbon old fashioned. Kid 2 liked the mac and cheese. The sesame chicken salad was great. There are draw backs. The Thai pizza (which would be worlds better with some of that sesame chicken on it) is barely average. They have a million kinds of real crappy beer on tap. It’s unreasonably loud. Kid 1 thought the Caesar salad had a weird aftertaste. Overall it washes out to be okay,I guess. I’m not sad we went, but I’m in no rush to go back.

Ate outside as the dining room was loud. Patio wasn’t much better, but not the fault of the restaurant. A group of 20-something guys drinking a case of beer and smoking on the steps ruined the atmosphere. Food was great. Server was attentive. Cheese curds are light and delicious, salad wasn’t bad.

The table set up for 6 was a little weird especially with reservations. We were in a corner with booth seating around two very small tables which was awkward. However, the atmosphere was fun and our waiter, Ivan, provided great service. For a table of 6, he took drink and food orders from memory, including two flites of beers and got it all perfect! Good value for the price and the food was really good.

Best thing about Rivalhouse is access to games. Bring a group, play board games and drink beer. Food wasn't particularly good, the restaurant was loud and it was more expensive than our favorite burger/beer joints. We won't be returning.

We did not join in on the games (board games, air hockey, table shuffle board, etc) and therefore probably missed out on the biggest draw. Beer selection was solid and the menu had good variety, however the latter meant an average food experience. We had the Rivalhouse Pizza, ribs, and a few of the salads - all good but not great. There's a little bit of everything menu-wise at Rivalhouse but if you're craving something specific, you're probably better off going somewhere that specializes. Fun place, I would go back for drinks or larger group outings.

Winning Couch Burger was great except for the seeming stale crushed chips.
Fish & Chips was ok...thats what I get when I order fish and chips in a "famous" burger joint.
Fries were too salty. I seen this on other reviews prior to coming as was going to say "easy" on the salt.
Service was pretty bad. Missed the Drunken Mussels, we are sure we said those for an appetizer.
Waiter took our order delivered the order and never checked back with us.

Still will come back and try burgers.
