The Tucson sausage soup was outstanding. The Italian melt was pressed like a panini and over cooked; I couldn’t eat it. They graciously took it back and substitute a burger; I ordered medium and it came out well done. I left disappointed.
Food took longer then I thought it should to come out for 3 burgers and a salad. They were wrapping up happy hour so there wasn't a ton of orders going into the kitchen.
Loved the food. We ate outside. Very pleasant & loved our waiter.
Would highly recommend.
Was disappointed in our drinks - gin gimlet and margarita on the rocks. Food was pretty good and nice service! Good patio seating!
My guest and I both had salads. Both the cobb and Asian salads were very good.
Really loud; like a mechanical fan of some sort was running the whole time. You could not even hear the music that was being played. Tap list badly out of date; ordered 4 beers off a printed menu before finding one they actually had. Too bad since a nice collection of games and the food is pretty good.
I understand it might be hard to find staff but on a huge concert night to only have two servers before and after the concert left much to be desired. Terrible high squeal in vents.
Good food! We had 10 people there so I understand having to wait on food, but our food took 40 minutes which was a little excessive. The waitress was amazing though, and the food was good.
The food took a while to get to our table, but otherwise everything was fabulous. The couch potato burger is a must have
I was pretty disappointed for the entire experience. We order extra dry vodka martini's that unfortunately had vermouth in them but we let that go. We had the deviled eggs as a starter and they were quite creamy with some nice bite to them. We ordered a burger and a salad. Asked for lots of pink in the burger which came to us well-done. The Chopped salad we ordered wasn't chopped per se and it was drowning in dressing. We sent the burger back for another one with pink. Even the second go-round the burger was overcooked, the bun stale, the bacon hard. Our server was doing her best but she seemed to have too many tables without any support from other employees who looked like they had nothing to do.
The service was good and the food tasty. I had the chili which had a unique twist and was very enjoyable. My only complaint was the menu on their website didn't match their menu on-site. I was going for the drunken mussels but they weren't on the current menu as well as some other great sounding items. I will definitely be back.
Chocolate cake was dry but all of our other food was delicious!! Our server was very friendly!
Service and food were both subpar and overpriced
We were watching a hockey game and the bartender changed the channel on us, wouldn’t change it back. Not great!
Great place to go if you want a skyway connected destination for a meal or happy hour. Food is unique and atmosphere is fun.
Great family place! The kids really enjoyed the air hockey, bubble hockey, and ski ball. The food was also more upscale than what I would expect as typical bar fare. Will definitely be going back, with or without kids!
Overall, just meh. We were seated in a corner, which would have been great for conversation, but it took forever for a server to acknowledge us. It wasn’t crowded, even on a Saturday evening. Pizza crust was a little burnt. When it’s the only place you can get in before an event at the excel center, it works. If you have other options, you can do better.
Surpringly good wings, great service and a decent beer list
I'd recommend it to anyone staying around St. Paul
Our server was not attentive even though he only had a few tables to tend to... messed up our order twice. Overall good value, food and atmosphere!
The food was really good and our table was ready for us early. We went there before the wild game and the server acted like she was surprised that it was busy. Isn't that what people do before a game? Took a long time for service and took a very long time to receive our food after we ordered it. We got there almost 2 hours before the game and we were almost late for the puck drop.
Went here since we got a $3 app & free beer for AJ Monsour winning initials on KFAN. Food was very good and the server was friendly. He made me sweat a bit when he acted like the app & beer promo wasn't a thing, but otherwise he was fun and otherwise no complaints. Will definitely be back!
Great service, really good food. Drinks were a tad weak, so I might go with a beer or wine next time.
The pizza was delivered not just a little overdone but outright blackened. I would have been ashamed to serve it. We were told to ask for it lightly done next time. Not a concern. There won't be one.
Good wait staff. Couch potato burger was really good. Pizza looked good but I didn’t have it.
This is part of a hotel which always makes me worry that the food won’t be great and it will be overpriced but that was not the case. Fun atmosphere if you’re in downtown St. Paul.
We booked ahead of show in St Paul, plenty early, and it was a good thing! Service was mediocre and, while the food was good, the wait was long for what we ordered. Perhaps this was not a fit for our needs...there were groups that appeared to be having fun and the environment was definitely upbeat.
Pizzas are always good! Disappointed you no longer have a drink list. And, it seems like no matter which beer my husband orders, you are out.
Server was ripping the kitchen from the moment we sat down. Pizza and burgers looked better than the tasted. Unfortunately not much good to say. Beer list was ok maybe.
Fun atmosphere with many games available to entertain you while waiting for food. Margarita pizza wasn't bad but not my favorite. Service was very good. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard and previously played ping pong in the back room. Probably a good place to watch sports.
The food was tasty enough and the server was friendly, but we had some trouble finding the server when we needed to discuss our order and get a bill so we could get out of there to get to "the show".
It was not busy and we waited ten minutes to be seated with reservations. No one even acknowledged us. Food was bland. Won’t go back.
My first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Great happy hour specials and a cool atmosphere with board games to play at your table, and other games to play in the back.
We went there before a concert and luckily had time to kill. The service was extremely slow... had to get our own drinks from the bartender and go out of our way to flag our server down every time we needed him. An appetizer took 40 minutes, and the pizza came out 10 minutes after that. The food was good but plan for a very long dinner since it takes forever to get anything served to you.
Very good food, fun games.
We had happy hour. Good prices for happy hour. Normal bar food happy hour specials.
There are real positives. We had great service from our server. Air hockey. Ski ball. A decent bourbon old fashioned. Kid 2 liked the mac and cheese. The sesame chicken salad was great. There are draw backs. The Thai pizza (which would be worlds better with some of that sesame chicken on it) is barely average. They have a million kinds of real crappy beer on tap. It’s unreasonably loud. Kid 1 thought the Caesar salad had a weird aftertaste. Overall it washes out to be okay,I guess. I’m not sad we went, but I’m in no rush to go back.
Very loud and noisy
Took advantage of a break in the hot summer weather to dine al fresco with a friend. Great food, conversation, and a light breeze made Rival House a perfect choice.
Nice job. Will definitely be back.
Ate outside as the dining room was loud. Patio wasn’t much better, but not the fault of the restaurant. A group of 20-something guys drinking a case of beer and smoking on the steps ruined the atmosphere. Food was great. Server was attentive. Cheese curds are light and delicious, salad wasn’t bad.
