Great July 4th bbq
I was expecting a quality bbq meal given this is a marriott resort. The food was cold, and of a very poor quality and the most expensive meal we had while on vacation. I would not recommend to anyone

Good was great! Service excellent. A little noisy busy but a lot of people were enjoying vacation.
The vegetables were overcooked. The salad bar was very sad. There were no other vegan options. The meats looks overcooked. The tables were too close together, and it was very noisy. No Christmas atmosphere. The food at this hotel is way below Marriott standard which is a shame because the location is awesome.
Had the holiday buffet. Lots of good food. Great service.
Would prefer Marriott in Delray Beach but closed for renovations!

No. One... I'm not sure why you need a reservation to eat there. No one was there. I was earlier assuming there wasn't any time to be late and lose the seat. The place, had one person. I sat on the bench thinking I'm early. The gentlemen who was the host. Didn't acknowledge me. Then a man walked up asked for a seat and went in. AGAIN? I'm under the impression from all the material I read in my room and on line, you couldn't eat unless you had a reservation. The host showed up again after a spell of being gone from the front, I had to ask him, if I could sit now because I had a reservation at 7am. Oh sure... he asked where I wanted to sit. One lady comes up and asks what I want, I said the buffet. She asked what I wanted to drink and I said water and ice tea. She said she would be back. Another girl comes back and puts the drinks down, asked what I wanted...the buffet, and if I wanted to charge it to the room sure. I got my food, an gentlemen who was cooking omelets was fantastic, he's the only reason I left a tip. I ate, and never was visited again. Until she brought the bill and I had to ask her for more to drink. Another person came in after me and had a seat herself because the host was gone. The waitress said you have to wait, and the girl said for what? The tables are empty. The waitress said the host will seat her and she said there's no host. For 29.00 buffet it was a joke. Yes, has potential. There was no bacon. None! The bake goods looked great. But maybe you should get a drink station with pitchers and get rid of a waitress. Sorry, I wasn't impressed. I'm willing to pay for good for and experiences. But you ask for too much for a diner scene.

Edwina is wonderful. I go every Thanksgiving and this year was able to make it for Easter.
The best experience ever .we came from Canada ..and wouldn’t want to go any where else ..amazing Easter buffet..I can’t wait to come back ..always 100% satisfied..
Brunch buffet food was excellent - price was ridiculous $79 per person and it didn’t include mimosas ($11 each).
We went here for Easter brunch. We usually come here every year for Easter brunch and Mother’s Day.
Overall it’s a great place, great food, great service.
This year was the first year they charged for mimosas. In the past, you pay the brunch fee and it included the mimosas. I know things change. That was the only thing that was so-so. Otherwise, nice place to come for holiday brunch.

Wonderful brunch with a fantastic variety. Our servers John and Theresa were so attentive and made our day perfect. Compliments to the Chef on an outstanding brunch selection.
Went for Sunday Brunch buffet for our 1st anniversary. We were shown to our table outside by the hostess, after 20 minutes and no greeting from a server, we went inside and asked for another table. We were shown to another table inside and still waited for a server. Finally we ordered our drinks and went to explore the buffet offerings. There were plenty of options from a carving station, seafood, omelets, salads, and plenty of breakfast items to choose from. We really enjoyed the food and views but the service could’ve been better.
Ate here on Christmas Day. Food was awful servers disorganized and the guitar play couldn’t sing he didn’t do holiday songs and large table of his family clapping and yelling. Very disappointed! Expected more from this hotel.

Maybe I just caught them on an off day, but there was no hostess to seat anyone (reservations or not). Wait staff gaped at us standing at the "wait to be seated " line, then turned heel and scurried away. After 10 minutes or so, a waiter seated us inside. Then an argument ensued over which of two waiters had our table. Guess it was neither, because we never saw them again. The Sunday buffet so heavily advertised was $50.00, and ordinary at best. Dried out eggs Benedict you couldn't cut with a knife, an omelet station, and no pancakes or waffles...not even a bagel with cream cheese to be found. On the bright side, there was nice fresh fruit and a raw bar with shrimp and crab on ice. For the price and service, I wouldn't suggest this to anyone.
This place was perfect for our Sisterfriends Birthday Brunch. We will definitely be back again real soon.
We had a wonderful time. Rosa was our server and she went above and beyond to accommodate us. The ambiance was breathtaking. I didn’t feel as though I was in Florida and I live here!
We arrived at Riva on time to a large crowd waiting to be seated. We waited 30 minutes for a table to open , expected on Thanksgiving. The food was spread out throughout the large banquet room, and this made each station easier to access.
The carving station was well manned, and all the side dishes were kept full for all's delight. There was a nice selection of homemade deserts as well.
The price was a little high, but the staff said they were well paid to work the holiday, so I am good with that. Overall it was a nice event, and would look to go again in the future.

I asked a question to the guy that was a host, if the hotel validate the parking tickets. I did not know, I was from out of town. The young man said sure and took my ticket and pretended to validate it. However, when I got to the parking garage I found out that he tricked me and I had to pay for parking. I did not care about paying, but all he had to say is "no we do not validate parking here". Did not like being tricked; that was rude and uncustomary for the Marriott, etc. . . . . The food was nasty. I expected a tasty Thanksgiving dinner; I was so disappointed. I and my daughter could not eat the food, so we ate nothing for Thanksgiving --I had cereal and she ate soup. The only thing that was nice was the view. I am a long-time Premier Plus Platinum member of the Marriott that travels all over the world, and I expected much better from an upscale hotel. Guest pay the extra money to get high quality service that I did not receive at this hotel. Finally, any employee that want to play tricks on the guest should be fired.
Thanksgiving dinner buffet
We ate here twice during our week in Fort Lauderdale.
Stephen is the BEST waiter! The dinners were spectacular, with very interesting and delicious flavor combinations. We really liked the menu which is a Tablet . It even includes some videos and it lists all the ingredients in the meals for your information.
We can’t wait to return here next time.

It was wonderful to be able to have breakfast and lunch at the Riva Restaurant. We invited guests to join us. A perfect place for a perfect meal.

As always this is our mandatory stop when we travel to Ft Lauderdale! Love the food variety and the desserts are amazing, the table service by Ms. Katheryn was superb. The food selections is always great particularly the seafood which is one of the reasons we return here twice a year. The drink package is well priced and the quality of the drinks included are very good.
This is a must do Sunday Brunch in town. Highly recommend it.
Father's day is always great at Riva. Your employees are exceptional! Teresa, Elaine, Sam, John and many others provide friendly, exceptional service. The food is delicious. The omelets and waffles the BEST ever! We had a wonderful time. it was better, too, since you expanded the seating into the bar.
Good option for lunch
We go to Sunday brunch frequently. Mother's Day was in banquet room. Found that it was not as good as normal sunday brunch. Servers not as attentive as they normally are. We were told that bar was included in brunch price but we were charged for 3 drinks one of which was not touched and was taken off our table. Not a good experience this time I'm sorry to say. We always recommend Riva to friends, I hope they were not there on Sunday.
The buffet was ruined when the staff allowed a man to carry his yorkie dog in the restaurant. They both cirlcled the buffet and sat at a couple of tables before deciding where they wanted to sit.
There was no leash or indication of this being a service dog. It was incredibly disgusting.

However, your website advertising is misleading. When I first made the reservation the only price I saw was $29.99. I made the reservation because I thought that that was the price. Imagine our dismay when the bill came and we had been charged $79.99 each!
When I made the reservation I did not see any mention of the price for Easter being different. In the past we have gone to the Marriott for special occasions and have been very happy. We had not been to your resort in a long time and were looking forward to creating more happy memories.
When we told the manager what happened he only refunded $100.00, basically the price of the tip. THIS WAS BECAUSE THE TIP WAS DONE IN A MISLEADING WAY TOO. THERE WAS AN AUTOMATIC GRATUITY ADDED AND THEN A PLACE TO ADD A TIP. My brother did not see the automatic tip and so he added a tip.
My brother, Paul Morningstar, wants the $200.00 taken off the bill, which is the difference in price between the $29.99 and the $79.99 for four people. He does not want to leave any tip at all because he is so disappointed in the Marriott.
My brother said that if the $200.00 is not taken off the bill, he is going to dispute the bill with his bank.
We thought that the Marriott was a quality venue for our family holiday celebration. Please restore our faith in your company. Since Le Cafe de Paris on Las Olas Boulevard closed, we would like to have a place to go for family celebrations.
