Rita's Kitchen at Camelback Inn, A J.W. Marriott Resort Ratings and Reviews
Worst dining experience of my life. The manager Pauline argued with me and people nearby were staring. She ruined our dinner and we were there to celebrate a birthday. Overpriced, small portions and mediocre at best. Oh, forgot to mention we sat there for 10 minutes with nobody coming over. I had to flag someone down and ask her if she was our waitress. When we asked for our food to be packed up, the waitress wanted to pack our leftover salsa instead of getting us fresh salsa.
I have been coming to Camelback Inn brunches for 40 years. They never miss a beat in service and excellent food. Of course the Palm Court brunches were superb also but they are no longer around. Our server was very attentive and the champagne flowed. The food was very high end and delicious.
The Sunday Brunch with unlimited mimosas was fantastic. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the mountain views and live music. They offered everything from fresh seafood, sushi, egg anything-you-want, pancakes, waffles, prime rib, lamb, fresh steak quesadillas, and so much more! The service was top notch and even Old Mother Goose was in the lobby entertaining the kids. We'll be back again!
We love the Sunday morning breakfast buffet at Rita's and go several times each season. Our ABSOLUTELY ONLY complaint is the music. We like to have conversation with friends, and the vocals are really distracting. Musicians playing instrumental music WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER. Instrumental background music is lovely but does not interfere with our own conversations.
FOOD WAS EXCELLLANT. LOVED THE HOT SAUCES THAT YOU HAD AVAILABLE. BLOOD Y MARYS WERE EXCELLENT ALSO. HOWEVER, WE WERE SEATED NEXT TO A COUPLE THAT LET THEIR 2 CHILDREN RUN AROUND OUR TABLE. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS NO FAULT OF YOURS, BUT THE PARENTS, BUT I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE SEATED US SOMEWHERE ELSE AFTER SEEING THE SITUATION. THEY DID LEAVE SOON AFTER WE GAVE THEM THE DEATH STARE,,,,,
Family came here for Thanksgiving Brunch since we just moved her 2 wks ago. We put it right up there with the Bacchanal in Vegas or the Queen Mary in LA. Only 2 complaints: no king crab legs, just crab claw and no seafood shellfish crackers and cocktail forks. Excellent service and LOTS of champagne. So happy to escape the sea of boxes at the house and enjoy a great buffet.
We had some service issues at our Saturday morning brunch both in getting seated (possibly our fault -- they got notice from Open Table that we had an earlier time than I thought we had booked) and with getting initial service -- we were accidentally (?) overlooked after waiting 30 minutes for the table, but the setting is beautiful and it is a lovely place to spend a nice weather day in Arizona. The menu is fine; the prices are high ($12 for mimosas $18 for average breakfast -- you are paying for the scenery and ambiance). If the prices don't bother you, it is a lovely and quiet spot for a morning with friends.
I love Rita’s when the weather is nice and you can eat outside. My only issue is with the noise level due to the outside music. For some reason the bass tones are always cranked up and people have to raise their voices to talk. Ask for a table far from the music and you should be fine.
It is a treat for a local to live large for a long lunch at Rita's Kitchen with superb dishes and friendly service by a staff that has remained constant. The Inn is graced in a lovely patina of comfortable wear, user friendly armosphere, and casual fun. Paradise Valley Council has sadly approved some out of place Mid Century Modern developments in the town. Rising out of this unique Camelback Inn setting is a rather talk square, modern ballroom, conference area which looks strangely out of place. It would be sad to see this destination resort for locals as well as all over the world visitors morph into some vastly different architecture and ruin the gem they have polished all these years. Our server Gigi knew just how we wanted to catch up at our lunch, invest in a glass of wine, and enjoy the avocado heaped with crab salad and a yummy side salad. Thee is always attention to the menu, the visitors and to your whole experience.
