Rita's Kitchen at Camelback Inn, A J.W. Marriott Resort
Our waitress, Rita was excellent. The chips and salsa were very good. But the prices of the food for the amount of food was a miss-match. Portions were very, very small. $16 for a glass of white wine, not even an up-scale brand? Too much ... Would not return.
The Sunday bench at Rita’s is second to none. The beautiful setting is perfect. The food is so fresh and beautifully displayed.
The service is friendly and so efficient.
Your champagne glass is never empty!
Alan and Suzi are really attentive servers.
This is a must for excellent food, wonderful ambiance and great service.
Food was great but service was a little slow. Overall a good experience.
Has a great outdoor patio area, but the food quality and service has gone down substantially. May be our last time after many previous visits.
Although our entrees were good, they came from the kitchen on the cool side. Overall, it was a very nice experience on the patio. Our server was great.
What makes dining at Rita’s so special is the live music outside on the patio. It really makes a difference!
Always a great experience from time you arrive at valet until you leave! Rita's Kitchen is one of our family favorites! With outdoor seating with great views and live music accompanied with great food - a sure win.
Ambiance needs some work. Dimming the lights would be a start and a little heat as sitting next to the windows is very cold.
Service was terrible. Very slow. They had three different servers “helping each other out” to take our orders and check on us (we had 5 people in our party). My wife said no cheese and they promised her the soup did not have cheese. Guess what, it had cheese! Took 45 min to get our soup after ordering it, and my wife’s had cheese, and dinner came way late too. Reservation at 730pm and didn’t leave until after 10pm. Food was okay, but not worth the money. Nice out door patio with live music was a plus.
Not as good as previous visits.
We waited longer than usual to get our order in, the staff seemed rushed.
Food was great as usual.
Although the food was good, it takes more than the food to make a great evening. The service was initially extremely slow. We were seated and after 20 minutes no one had even approached us to take a drink order. We notified the hostess and one of the managers came and took our order. We thankfully sat inside and was very glad about that as the live music outside was extremely loud. It was very cold in the restaurant in addition. The appetizers and salads were reasonably priced, but I think almost $40 for the sea bass was over-priced, although very tasty. I wouldn't necessarily go back here if we were in the area again.
Always an enjoyable evening
Great ambiance, food is just mediocre. It is a hotel, I would say food quality leaves a lot to be desired and a burger for $19, should be awesome with grass fed, grass finished beef, not a run of the mill burger!
The menu was very limited the service was not great, the food came out wrong all of the kitchen.
Never again and we are next door neighbors.
Missed your churros with caramel sauce 😩 My favorite dessert! Very good pomegranate salad and table-side guacamole . Live music is always nice.
We were looking for a place with a view of the mountains for breakfast and this was perfect. Food was excellent, expensive, but I would expect that at a resort. The landscaping and scenery is beautiful. Worth it!
Rita’s Kitchen is notoriously slow, but I waited because I could get a basic, healthy meal that was not Mexican-the quarter roasted chicken. Now that they’ve changed the menu and taken it off, the only basic non Mexican meal is a hamburger.
Waiting for a water, waiting for a waiter, waiting for chips and waiting for the meal took an hour and a half. The musician drowned out any opportunity to talk because there were few people there. We won’t be back.
Absolutely wonderful. Great service, weather, environment, food and drink!
Food was superb and service was excellent! Highly recommend :)
Excellent wait staff. Fun music. Great food. Nice outdoor seating.
Rita's Kitchen has just rolled out a new menu. We really enjoyed our selections with regards to taste. Some of the portions were very small and the protein part of them was almost nonexistent and this was disappointing because one pork tamale was $27!!. We gave feedback to our waiter and he was very receptive to the information. The service was exceptional and the patio seating was very energetic with a wedding we could see off to the side. It was the perfect time of year to venture outside at Rita's.
We sat outside, it was quite pleasant as we sat in an area where the sun umbrellas kind of overlapped with one another, which kept the area cool. The tableside guacamole was delicious, my husband and I finished every single bit of that appetizer. I had the tortilla soup and my husband had the turkey sandwich. My soup was a tad on the salty side, but we found no fault with the sandwich.
Though some people complain about the prices, the truth is that the portions are quite large, which makes the price and easier pill to swallow. We ended up bringing half of the turkey sandwich back with us, that's how big the portions are. Unfortunately, we devoured the guacamole and our main course, which left no room for dessert. Overall, decent experience, would go back and try their other dishes (while ordering the guacamole as well!).
Food came out Luke warm, slow slow slow service almost non existent.
Cost was listed on Open Table to be under $30.
The brunch was $45 per person.
Great restautant the food ambience and service were excellent.
Worst service ever st CB Inn. We ordered table side guacamole. Waiter left chunks the size of a quarter of an avocado. Try to put that on a chip. It became do it yourself tableside guacamole. Had to mash it up ourselves. Menu has changed to a very limited selection.., green chili pork dish we’ve enjoyed for 10 years now removed from the nenu.., ended up ordering street tacos, which were fine but disappointing not to get my fave. Was told by the waiter they would not make it.
Our appetizer plates were never cleared the entire meal. Churros are also no longer available.
I also had a cocktail with a severely chipped glass. The waiter didn’t reappear for 20 minutes after so I ended up having to drink from the chipped glass.
Overall, not a great experience. It seems that all the local favorites have been removed from the lunch and dinner menu. No more club sandwich or basic salmon Caesar.
I like this restaurant for the outdoor ambiance and live bands but the food is marginal. Low quality but great cocktails.
Outdoor dining is excellent at Rita’s Kitchen!!
This was a let down - not up to Camelback Inn standards.
We had a normal sunday brunch. Seems that trying to consume your fair share of sunday brunch champagne is like asking for the keys to the vault. We had emptied glasses nunerous times. Felt like i was asking a lot for refills. Food was average as its not your traditional BIG holiday buffet (i.e mothers day, easter, etc..) it was good but wasnt great.
Best Sunday brunch ever!!!
Where is the excellence that Camelback Inn once lavished on its guests? Our food was OK; the special, which was a tamale concoction was delicious, but out "Rita's Chopped Salad" was pitiful--mediocre at best: Tired iceberg lettuce, with very little interesting ingredients. We love the after-dark atmosphere and ambiance, but the service was only fair. Our waiter disappeared then reappeared about 30-40 minutes into our meal (a manager had brought us our entre) and told us that he would check on our food!!! When we told him that we had already enjoyed our entre, he told us that "They called me take care of something across the property...sorry I was gone!" He didn't even realize that we had already eaten!! Did he honestly think we would have sat there for half an hour without summoning someone?? Also, he filled us in on the fact that he was a bit tired, as he had been up late studying for his preferred career goal......Really?? Maybe Marriott needs to focus more on improving its work force--rather than buying everything in sight.
Decided to try Rita's due to proximity to visiting family member's hotel. Lovely grounds. From the valet (who remembered my name 3 hrs later), to our waitress Rita staff was fantastically friendly and professional. Patio dining has lovely view. We got here very early on a Saturday (4:30) and it was very quiet and peaceful. Tortilla soup was excellent as was fresh guacamole. Fajitas were a disappointment as the beef was a bit chewy. Would absolutely return and try something else.
I had the green chili pork and didn’t love it. I’ll be back and I’ll simply order something different next time. The place is incredible in all other aspects.
Something was going on in the bar area so it was somewhat noisy. No bread was offered. Our salmon was perfect and the substitutions for our vegetables were accommodated. The prices for a glass of wine (14) and a gin and tonic (9) were what I consider to be high. The wait person was cordial. Terrific view of the mountains. Too warm to sit outside.
Exceptional service and food, especially the breakfast buffet and Sunday Brunch
Great food. Great Service. Great surroundings. A little too loud for my taste.
