Rita's Kitchen at Camelback Inn, A J.W. Marriott Resort
Great food and nice atmosphere. We had the scallops and shrimp enchiladas. Also the guacamole and salsa. Everything was very tasty. Had the weather been better, the outside space looked fun.
Food was good but not great. Service was decent. Extremely overpriced.
Two brunch Buffett meals (without beverages) came a total of 198 dollars plus tip. Was no where worth it; Nor was the price made clear of what the Buffett cost. The breakfast buffet was notated at 35 a person. The brunch buffet was not clearly advertised. We could have asked but didn’t ever expect it to be more than 2.5 times the price. We knew it was going to be expensive but not 90 dollars a person expensive. Food wasn’t with the price. It was also extremely loud.
I wouldn’t plan to go back. Would not recommend it. This is one of those places that is specifically geared towards the “I’m important and money doesn’t matter to me”.
Excellent food, live music, vibe!
Food was very good, exceeded expectation. Dining area is too noisy due to hard wood floors and no sound dampening. If sound dampeners were installed in the ceiling cove in the middle of the dining area and a few rugs placed in the middle area, then the experience would be much improved.
Love the food. It’s nice to go when it’s a warmer night to sit outside, but we like it just the same.
This review is specifically for Rita's Sunday Brunch. Their brunch is, quite simply, awesome! Sunday diners can choose from a fantastic variety of food to eat from prime rib to fresh made chicken or steak tacos, to custom made omlets, to sushi. They also serve bottomless mimosas and offer incredible outdoor dining views of Scottsdale mountains. Run, don't walk, to Rita's for Sunday brunch!
We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary here & it was truly special from beginning to end! There was a bountiful variety of food that was unique, plentiful & very well prepared. The service was exceptional especially by our waitress Dora. The weather & hotel’s Christmas decorations were spectacular. Thanks to all for a memorable brunch.
Thanksgiving
Since new management has come in, they’ve made a lot of changes throughout the restaurants and the spa, and not for the better. Prices have gone up, they’ve removed items from the happy hour menu, and it’s not that special place anymore.
Sunday brunch is all.
Very tasty food with nice presentation. Expensive, but what you would expect for a nice resort. Music from bar was a bit loud one night, but usually sitting outside is very nice and with beautiful view of Mummy Mountain.
Loved the chicken enchiladas and the queso fundido. The outdoor seating on the patio is very nice on a beautiful November evening.
This is an absolutely wonderful place for Sunday brunch. The buffet offerings are fresh and delicious.
The crab legs are yummy. The service is outstanding.
Marianne is a real star as a server. Attentive and very professional
Everyone is so welcoming. The champagne just keeps flowing.
The shade provided outside really makes it perfect.
We attended for what was a delicious brunch buffet. Very impressive spread, diverse items and delicious buffet choices.
HOWEVER, when we had arrived and received the menus for brunch, the buffet was listed at one price in the menu, and when the check arrived, it was a MUCH higher price (literally triple). We were then informed that there was a brunch special which included mimosas or champagne with brunch. That omission, paired with service staff disappearing once the check was dropped, are the reasons for my lower rating.
As I said, the food and environment was exceptional, but the management surrounding it could use some guidance.
The food and drinks were very good, the service was slow. Live music was a nice add, I wish there was just a little more separation between the bar and restaurant. There were families with children running all over the place which detracted from the upscale-ness of the restaurant.
we sat for awhile with no one even saying hi to us and we will be with you soon. had to ask 2 different people if someone was assigned to us.
I love this place! The guacamole and salsa is great, as was the pork belly, scallops, and enchiladas!
Our waitress, Rita was excellent. The chips and salsa were very good. But the prices of the food for the amount of food was a miss-match. Portions were very, very small. $16 for a glass of white wine, not even an up-scale brand? Too much ... Would not return.
The Sunday bench at Rita’s is second to none. The beautiful setting is perfect. The food is so fresh and beautifully displayed.
The service is friendly and so efficient.
Your champagne glass is never empty!
Alan and Suzi are really attentive servers.
This is a must for excellent food, wonderful ambiance and great service.
Food was great but service was a little slow. Overall a good experience.
Has a great outdoor patio area, but the food quality and service has gone down substantially. May be our last time after many previous visits.
Enjoyed it.
Although our entrees were good, they came from the kitchen on the cool side. Overall, it was a very nice experience on the patio. Our server was great.
What makes dining at Rita’s so special is the live music outside on the patio. It really makes a difference!
Always a great experience from time you arrive at valet until you leave! Rita's Kitchen is one of our family favorites! With outdoor seating with great views and live music accompanied with great food - a sure win.
Ambiance needs some work. Dimming the lights would be a start and a little heat as sitting next to the windows is very cold.
Amazing service!
Service was terrible. Very slow. They had three different servers “helping each other out” to take our orders and check on us (we had 5 people in our party). My wife said no cheese and they promised her the soup did not have cheese. Guess what, it had cheese! Took 45 min to get our soup after ordering it, and my wife’s had cheese, and dinner came way late too. Reservation at 730pm and didn’t leave until after 10pm. Food was okay, but not worth the money. Nice out door patio with live music was a plus.
Not as good as previous visits.
We waited longer than usual to get our order in, the staff seemed rushed.
Food was great as usual.
Although the food was good, it takes more than the food to make a great evening. The service was initially extremely slow. We were seated and after 20 minutes no one had even approached us to take a drink order. We notified the hostess and one of the managers came and took our order. We thankfully sat inside and was very glad about that as the live music outside was extremely loud. It was very cold in the restaurant in addition. The appetizers and salads were reasonably priced, but I think almost $40 for the sea bass was over-priced, although very tasty. I wouldn't necessarily go back here if we were in the area again.
Always an enjoyable evening
Great ambiance, food is just mediocre. It is a hotel, I would say food quality leaves a lot to be desired and a burger for $19, should be awesome with grass fed, grass finished beef, not a run of the mill burger!
The menu was very limited the service was not great, the food came out wrong all of the kitchen.
Never again and we are next door neighbors.
Missed your churros with caramel sauce 😩 My favorite dessert! Very good pomegranate salad and table-side guacamole . Live music is always nice.
We were looking for a place with a view of the mountains for breakfast and this was perfect. Food was excellent, expensive, but I would expect that at a resort. The landscaping and scenery is beautiful. Worth it!
Rita’s Kitchen is notoriously slow, but I waited because I could get a basic, healthy meal that was not Mexican-the quarter roasted chicken. Now that they’ve changed the menu and taken it off, the only basic non Mexican meal is a hamburger.
Waiting for a water, waiting for a waiter, waiting for chips and waiting for the meal took an hour and a half. The musician drowned out any opportunity to talk because there were few people there. We won’t be back.
Absolutely wonderful. Great service, weather, environment, food and drink!
Food was superb and service was excellent! Highly recommend :)
Excellent wait staff. Fun music. Great food. Nice outdoor seating.
