First visit to Saraceno's and it was excellent. Table ready when promised, wait staff was friendly and prompt, food was very good. Recommend reservations as the place filled up quickly. Will return.
Always a treat to eat at Saraceno’s.
Every effort is to ensure you have a wonderful meal!!
Cozy and authentic Italian place!
I would certainly recommend this particular restaurant in the North End solely based on the staff and their customer service. Don't get me wrong, the food was delectable, but if you're looking for a quaint, authentic location where you'll feel like you're at your Italian relatives house, this is the place. We went on New Year's Eve and for a friend's birthday and it was nothing short of fantastic. Side note, as a person with a gluten allergy, I was overwhelmed with how good their gluten free pasta was!
We have been eating here for years and have always enjoyed it. However we have noticed the prices keep going up. I am sad to say that last night is the las night we will ever eat here. There is no kids menu so no prices for any kids food. We ordered 1 plain spaghetti and meatball to split between our two girls and they also got chocolate milk. When we got our bill we were blown away by the price. $15.99 for the spaghetti, $12.99 for the meatball add on and $8.00 for the chocolate milk. So, $37 for 1 kids spaghetti and chocolate milk. In comparison, we went to Maggiano’s today and it was $6.99 and that included the milk and desert. You folks should be ashamed of yourselves. My wife and I both ordered an appetizer and a drink for ourselves, so you were definitely making money off us. Charging $40 for a kids meal is a joke. Maybe that is why on New Years Eve there were 4 empty tables at 7PM.
Good meal. Good service.
I would recommend asking for a seat far away from the door. Large groups with baby carriages kept coming in & holding the doors open for long periods of time so the cold and wind were blowing on us constantly. The food was delicious and of very good value. Staff was efficient in cramped, crowded space, attentive, and very professional.
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston and the best for traditional Italian food. Chicken Cacciatore is the best anywhere.
Great for Christmas Eve!!
This restaurant is one of our favorites in the North End. Very consistent. Excellent service. Great staff and owner. Three levels so don't walk away if it looks crowded. Over the years, I've tried most things on the menu and always very pleased. The food is wonderful. Some of my favorites - appetizers - muscles in red or white sauce, pasta fagioli, shrimp scampi, clams casino. great caesar salad too. main course - all pastas, great lasagna, and veal dishes too. Can't go wrong with anything!! Reasonably priced. Very accommodating. Enjoy! If you haven't been here, give it a try. You'll return again and again.
I Had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner!
Over priced and poor service. Hostess was very rude
No complaints on the service or the wonderful meal. The hospitality we received from the owner when we arrived was a bit surprising. Having travelled from New Hampshire to Boston for evening out in the North End, my wife and I were rudely welcomed by the owner as no staff was available upon entering. The service and meal were great but the experience will lead us to other restaurants in the area.
The food was excellent. Will definitely return!
This place is about middle of the road for the North End. You're not going to have a terrible rememberable experience here. The service while quite friendly was exceptionally slow on the front end. We sat at the table for almost 15 minutes before being having our drink order taken. It seemed like things were coming out of the kitchen slow as many people around us were also without their food. However, the food came out at a reasonable time. The food was of acceptable quality, not bad and not great. I would recommend other spots in the North End before recommending this one.
The dinner was alright. Service was very slow and not the best... meal was good, but nothing special.
Basement bathrooms were some of the dirtiest I have seen since college.
Interesting night. We had reservations, but when we got there, every table in view was taken, and we figured that we might have to wait a few minutes. No problem, right? But they led us to the back of the restaurant to another room - also full - then to another - also full. Then down a flight of steps to two more rooms, that were also full. Finally, we got to another room that was empty. It also had a distinct smell (just by the restrooms). After a few moments, we told the waitstaff that we preferred to eat in another room. No problem, we were told. We were led back through the maze of rooms back to the first room and then out the door! The waiter led us through another door (unmarked). up two flights of stairs, through two more rooms, to our final waiting (empty room). It was well decorated, like every other room. But felt kind of depressing as we were quite alone. All ended well. Other groups started filling up the other tables by the time we finished our app, and the food was quite good. Just didn't realize how large this restaurant was. Also, felt that we should have been given a better seat considering that we had advance reservations.
This was definitely one of my top three Italian dinner meals I’ve ever had in my life I travel a lot in Europe and like Italian food a lot. even the Italians are not able to do it much better than this place!!!
The service was a tad slow at first, but dinner and dessert were great and very quick! Everyone loved their meals. The only issue was the bread was a little stale and only 4 pats of butter for 4 people. A good value in Boston for sure!
Wonderful food, service and overall experience. Saraceno has a “family Italian” ambiance both in service and the dining room.
Great meal one of the best I ever had!!!
This was a great spot for dinner before an event at the Garden. Arriving by 5:30 was good because the tables did fill up but then some were available by 7:00. Excellent service, noise level was low but some tables close together if you are having intimate conversation yet tables easily adapt to 2 or 4. Great location on Hanover Street in the North End. We will go again.
Always can look forward to a great meal here. This time we were on a tight schedule due to a concert. Though they were absolutely slammed, we had our table on time, they expedited our service, and even customized a plate for us. We'll be back!
Service was poor. Staff was unfriendly and food was mediocre. For what we paid I don’t think we got our money’s worth. To have an unfriendly staff makes for a poor service and time.
The food was amazing! The service was very slow and our waiter didn’t greet us for about 10 minutes.
Perfectly charming & authentic. The perfect place to celebrate my birthday with family.
Food was great, location fabulous!!!
We felt like we were in an Italian grotto.
Love this restaurant and this was our second visit. Food is amazing as always, but the service was not as great tonight. We would still return because the good is great!
Simply The Best!!!! Frankie the owner is outstanding.
Delicious dinner! The spaghetti with clams in fra diavolo red sauce was delicious. My husband had the shrimp and lobster scampi. Amazing! Excellent service and great food
Food was amazing, atmosphere was amazing, a little loud because it's a relatively small space and everyone is having such great conversations! Service was excellent.
Servers were good. They had nothing non carbonated and non alcoholic other than milk. No juices or even ice teas. Food was good not amazing
Celebrated my birthday with a lovely meal. Fiore made it extra special with a surprise dessert. Very memorable!
Always a great experience at Saraceno’s!
The staff is pleasant, friendly, helpful and the food is always delicious- best lasagna in the North End!
We loved the warm, welcoming and cozy feeling of Ristorante Saraceno. Our young son loved his gnocchi and we really enjoyed the special fish of the day, as well as the linguini with white clam sauce. Our server was very helpful in picking out a nice and reasonably priced wine. We waited for quite a while for our appetizers after ordering, but other than that, it was a really lovely experience. We will return!
Saraceno is always fabulous! We go often and have never been disappointed.
Good food, good service, recommend
We made a reservation through open table however the restaurant does not honor reservations. So when we arrived we had to wait in the same line that everyone else did. Literally making open table pointless. We ended up having to go to a different restaurant after having waited for 47 minutes.
