Wonderful "Old school" Italian with a romantic yet modern flair. The food was marvellous and the service very attentive. Enoyed our evening very much!
good food but really tired atmoshpere. need to update the finishes, replace the old plastic lamenated menus . doing this would make the resturant much more desirable. Des[ite liking the food and service, we won't go back unless they update the decor and finishes.
The food is always excellent at Piccolo. The violinist is a nice touch, but very loud, especially upstairs.
We have always had wonderful meals with good service and a pleasant atmosphere at Piccolo.
Great food and great service. The food was excellent, as usual. I always recommend Ristorante Piccolo to my friends and coworkers
Had a wonderful dinner here with friends! Excellent food and service.
Great meal with my wife and two oldest adult kids. Food was great. We sat on the second floor which is better for conversation but the table was a bit cramped in a corner.
Grossly overpriced for mediocre food. The “ambience” in the rear section (which is most of the restaurant) consists of tightly-crowded tables, red colors everwhere, and a violinist (which was just overbearing in the small space).
A veal dish had very little veal, maybe 100 grams, and a huge pile of boiled spaghetti. When I asked for a “pasta that has some taste”, after 8 minutes I was given a new bowl of almost the same thing.
My bill for one person (wine and tip included) came to US$ 60. It wasn’t worth US$ 15.
Definitely a favorite for my wife and I. Great romantic spot with nice ambiance and food prices are reasonable. And we always enjoy the violinist taking requests!
Unknown before my visit, I escorted a group of people on tour to this lovely restaurant, and we had great food and a good time. The servers were polite, though a diner at a table next to us started to play some music on her phone. She quickly recognized her faux pas, and then it became quieter. They put out bread, oil, and balsamic, and when I asked for a bowl of minced garlic to accompany it, they were a bit surprised, but they came through perfectly!
Not as romantic as some may like, but the eggplant parmesan over pasta that I ordered was excellent!
Super disappointing experience. Had to ask (again) about a table I had reserved even though I had called that afternoon to confirm. We sat down and were rushed to order wine and food. Server wasn’t that attentive and seemed to just want us to leave. He took away our plates before we were done, kept filling up the wines glasses, and wasn’t all that courteous. Not worth the value.
Great Italian restaurant with great service. Food came out fast and the waiters were very friendly and helpful with the menu items. Food was delicious
I had the risotto with porcini and seared scallops...it was delicious! It was our friends first visit, and they said they will definitely go back.
This place always has great food and service is great like always.
Food was great and came out on time. Kinda of loud and chaotic but didn’t bother me at all.
My mom and MOH were in town so we went here for dinner. It was great! We’re from NJ so total Italian food snobs but this place had amazing food and the ambiance was like being in little Italy in NYC. 100% would go back again.
Overall my experience was good. Some things I didn't like we're the fixed price menu for Valentine's day, as well as the slow service. I had to ask for a refill after sitting there for an hour and had finished my appetizer 45 minutes prior to me asking. I liked how there was a violinist there playing for the couple's that we're there.
Valentine’s Day is hectic anywhere so was to be expected. However the steak was very over cooked and not enjoyable and the suggested / and ordered menu desserts were not available by the time we were at that portion of the meal. Service was great atmosphere great.
It was honestly one of the worst dinners I have ever had. For starters the food was wonderful... but let’s get into what really matters. The service level was absolutely horrible, we waited an hour before our first course. Everybody around us was in the same boat as nobody was getting their food on time. It was absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe that it cost so much for that level of service. Everybody in the place was just forced to look around and wonder what on earth was going on. After a 3 hour dinner we saw people still waiting outside, we really almost told them to go elsewhere because the service was that bad. I will never go back, it amazes me they didn’t offer a free bottle of wine or anything. To anybody who reads this, I highly recommend to never go there
Food was not very good. I got the rockfish and my GF the filet. Both were well over cooked. Flavor to the food was almost non-existent. Very bland and just didn’t taste good. Overall just not good quality. The couple next to us sent their food back for the same reasons. Ambiance was good, they had a violinist and decorations were cute. Paid way to much money for the lack of quality of food. Would never entertain the thought of coming back.
Service very good.....great wine choices by the glass and delicious ravioli
Loved the restaurant in the past , food still good but for my wife's birthday we were placed in a back room between parties of 12 and 16... the noise unbearable...and then the strolling violinist tried to out play the cacophony... can you say adult " Chucky Cheese". Waiter rushed us thru this romantic dinner we drove over a hundred miles to enjoy and the whole experience ended in 53 minutes. Go for a quick business lunch, you'll love it.
Wonderful place to have a pleasant conversation delicious dinner with polite staff.
The food was very bland. would not recommend this place.
The food was ehhh. Not worth the price at all! Had to ask the waiter for water like 5 times
I've been to Piccolo on several occasions and always enjoy it's warmth and charm.
The food is terrific and the service wonderful...a special thanks to Elizabeth who waited on us Saturday night.
I recently went to Ristorante Piccolo for a birthday dinner. The servers were incredibly nice, the atmosphere was lively, but not overwhelming, and the food was fantastic! A floating violinist approached my table when it was time for dessert to play while we ate. The inside of the restaurant has mostly warm-toned walls that provides a comfortable ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant!
One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Can't wait to go back
Really good place, the food was perfect, the service amazing!!! Thanks!!!
This was an amazing experience can't wait to come again...
The service was excellent, the ambiance lively but a little cramped, the food good but not great and the portions small considering the prices. The wine list was very overpriced, even house wine by the glass was very expensive ($12), I do not plan to go back.
I have been to Ristorante Piccolo twice in the same month because I enjoyed it so much! The restaurant is in a historic home on the Georgetown Canal and has great ambiance. Great food, wine, and live violin music make this a great date spot. Also the prices are relatively reasonable when considering the high quality and prices of other Italian restaurants in the area. Would definitely recommend!
Outside was adorable great food and service
We were seated right away which was great. The atmosphere is lovely and our food and service was fabulous!! My coworkers all enjoyed their meal. Raves for the Chicken Parmesan, Gnocchi, Sausage and Peppers and the Ravioli with mushrooms. We will be back.
Excellent ambience, with excellent service. Servers are knowledgeable of menu options and provide excellent recommendations. Great place to wine and dine on a date or with a group of friends for conversation. Enjoyed the food!
Food was excellent and so was the service! We went there before a On Your Feet at the Kennedy Center and were extremely impressed.
Consistently superb food and service. So many excellent choices on the menu that you can’t go wrong with any selection.
Very disappointing, food bland, service was absent minded, tables on top of one another, and couldn't hear my date speak. It's the little things that make or break dining out, something they ignored.
It was my second time there and I am going to return in a couple of weeks. Really enjoyed it - the bread was fantastic, the canoli great, wine selection diverse, and wait staff very very nice. Great place.
Piccolo has been my husband and my go-to restaurant for over 25 years. Their high food quality, dependable service, and warm ambiance has us coming back year after year.
