Excellent food and service, adorable and authentic!
Nice location, the staff are professionals and the food delicious
The restaurant has a nicely diverse menu with small plates, appetizers, pasta, meat and fish dishes. The full plates tend to be generous in their portions and the starters, the appetizers, are not only good but diverse in terms of seafood, vegetables and cheese. Now, there is seating outside on the street and that tends to be somewhat noisy due to the traffic, now through traffic after the completion of the new bridge that crosses the canal on 31st Street.
The service could be a bit more attentive as there are lapses when there is no one there who is watching or even asking if everything is alright. I like to be spoiled when I eat in a restaurant and while the service is somewhat attentive, they do not spoil you. This is not the Cafe Milano but it is a solid Italian restaurant.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and cozy with an almost old world charm. There are gas fireplaces in several rooms, perhaps 4 in all and the tables are on 2 floors. There are wide plank floors and elegantly set tables with white tablecloths. Covid prohibits eating indoors right now but I will be there once this scourge is life, eating indoors in the cold months. On the second floor, there is a small balcony with tables for two people. In the summer it would be divine. All in all, this is a good restaurant with good food and acceptable service. If they paid attention to the small details, it would be even better.
Went to dine on my wife’s birthday. They truly made the occasion special. There is a ban on indoor dining in DC due to COVID and we had to eat outside. The staff was very accommodating and ensured we were as comfortable as possible (heaters and tents). Social distancing made the experience feel safe in these trying times. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The ambiance inside is really nice (took a peek on the way to the restroom) and we will definitely be back to dine here again. Please support our local restaurants or they might not be here when the pandemic is under control.
P.S. The Lobster Risotto was spectacular!!!
Family dinner excellent food and service!
The food and service was amazing, but I was expecting more food for the amount we had to pay for the dish.
Outstanding service Chafik our server was very professional ,the manager brry friendly the food was amazing! We had a good time definitely wego back and i highly recommend this place.
Absolutely wonderful - good, service, & ambiance
The restaurant did an amazing job placing tables more than six feet apart for social distancing. Felt very comfortable and safe with the precautions they took.
The food and service for our brunch was wonderful. Will be back
3rd time at Ristorante Piccolo and it’s always a cut above the rest. From Valentine’s Day to taking my girlfriend to her 30th birthday by a fireplace with live violin playing, decorated beautifully. Food was another level. Tasting menu prepared by the chef with a gorgeous bottle of wine. Always a night to remember.
One of the best overall dining experiences in a while- from checking in to our departure they made us feel special. Will be putting on the rotation!!
Charming family-owned Italian restaurant in a historic building. Our waiter Nabil is a gem! And the food really delivers. Lobster risotti is outstanding and the homemade pastas are delicious. Highly recommend!
The food was very good. The place was super cute and cozy. Decorated beautifully for the holidays. The service however was slow.
The seating experience was amazing. My server met every request with excellence. My fiancé has celiac’s disease and the server made sure to cater to her allergies. He had great recommendations as well. Overall, his service and the experience made it a restaurant I will come back to in the future and made it a memorable night as well.
The food and service was amazing! Great for special occasions or a treat, but priced very reasonably.
So amazing!!! The food. The service. The gracious staff. It was fantastic!!!!
Food was exceptional, especially given the cost! Very reasonable prices for great quality food. Strolling violinist was phenomenal. He moved around the restaurant playing Christmas tunes. When he was finished, however, the music that was played was very weird. It was a weird mix of music that did not match the ambiance or vibe of the restaurant. Would’ve appreciated more calming classical music or Christmas music given the time of year instead of the pop, rock, mix they played.
Our server came to table fo check on us following a smoke break, which was off putting. The smell of his recently smoked cigarettes linger around our table after he left. He was extremely nice but that was a little annoying.
All in all, we had a lovely time. Again, the food was great. We ended up getting dessert for free which was a delightful surprise. Highly recommend the tiramisu!
Nice evening out near our hotel. I would reconnect it. We had a great corner table that made it special.
Great food, great table, great service. The handmade pasta is delicious!
Reduced capacity because of COVID, which made it cozier in many ways.
Our server, Jorge, was just completely rude to us the minute we walked in. When we asked about cocktail week, he grew even colder (if that was even possible). He even told us no food came with the food and cocktail deal. When he realized he was wrong, obviously, he apologized but continued with his attitude. This used to be a great spot I’d go out for the pasta oceano but it’s no longer worth it to me to dine or take out here.
Sunday family dinner on a small scale. Excellent food.
Fabulous dining experience...can’t wait to go back
We family for a nice lunch in Georgetown. There were 6 of us. Sat inside. Customers were spaced 6 ft. apart. Food was great. I had fennel salad with chicken and tomato soup. I’d order both again. Others had chicken parmigiana sandwich and loved it.
Excellent service and amazing food!!!
excellent food and service. would definitely recommend
We sat outside on the balcony upstairs on a sunny cool saturday and it was lovely- the food was very good- we had eggplant parm, meatball app, and arugula salad.. all were better than average. The bread with dipping O&V was nice, and the cocktails/wine were heavy pours. The service was on-point and all in all it was a real treat and a good experience for my first time eating out in DC since February!
Best fired mozzarella ever! Excellent risotto.
Great ambiance. Cozy, warm. Good service. Food good. Wine menu varied and reasonably priced.
We enjoyed a Friday lunch in their outdoor dining space. We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but that was not a problem. We were promptly seated. The wait staff was attentive and courteous. The food was wonderful! We selected a trio of appetizers, an entree and a dessert to share. Enjoyed our time at Ristorante Piccolo and looking forward to a return visit!
My sister and I sat up on the balcony and it was quiet and gorgeous. The food was phenomenal, and thankfully the weather was perfect too!
Amazing food! Authentic and highly recommend!
service was great! loved sitting outside on a Saturday night. my new favorite spot in georgetown
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. I am not one to write reviews, but the food here was absolutely superb. I had the tortellini carbonara and it truly was an explosion of melting goodness with each bite. I usually request an insane amount of Parmesan on top but this is the first time that I found myself regretting that request, and scraping the excess cheese off to enjoy the dish as it was so excellently already made. My boyfriend’s pizza was also deliciously authentic Italian cuisine. We were able to be seated in a covered patio area outside which was great considering the pandemic. A little pricey but worth it!
Piccolos is out go-to spot for anniversaries & date nights. Service is always fabulous! Thank you!
This was the cutest Georgetown Italian restaurant ! The view from the balcony was so cute ! And it’s located in a little mini Italy off of M street in Georgetown. It is so cute! The food was fantastic and the service was so friendly and quick. I will definitely be going back again !
Good food, excellent service and good variety on the menu. The restaurant has a nice balcony and sidewalk seating on 31st Street which is blocked off now. With 3 Italian restaurants on the street there is lots of traffic that turns around giving the impression that you are sitting on an intersection. However, the food takes the traffic sting away. Try it and you will be surprised.
Wonderful location for top notch Italian dining. Diverse menu with expertly prepared standard classics and modern dishes as well. Service was impeccable, prompt, and friendly. Very romantic spot in a rustic building with outdoor balcony seating and fireplaces inside, great for date nights.
A diamond in the rough.
Amazing service and great food! The mushroom ravioli was so good!
