Very disappointing, food bland, service was absent minded, tables on top of one another, and couldn't hear my date speak. It's the little things that make or break dining out, something they ignored.

It was my second time there and I am going to return in a couple of weeks. Really enjoyed it - the bread was fantastic, the canoli great, wine selection diverse, and wait staff very very nice. Great place.

Piccolo has been my husband and my go-to restaurant for over 25 years. Their high food quality, dependable service, and warm ambiance has us coming back year after year.

The food was terrific, and the service even better! A gem on 31st St. below M St, which is perfect for before/after movies on K St. A short walk uphill from the theater, but well worth the effort. Only negative is noise level, which is a constant clatter for the hearing-challenged!

Waiter, Nabil . . . outstanding. Collaborated on food and wine venue for party of six. A total Home Run! The Owner greeted us at the door and nestled us into a fireplace side table. So cozy on a cold night. Food, Wine & Service Impeccable and Impressive. Can’t wait to go back . . .

Had a terrible experience in my New Year's Eve. The service was very poor, the server would never show up, we had a couple next to us complaining about everything and then the server would just pay attention to this couple. We ordered our food when we arrived because there was a pre fix menu and then when we were about to have the entree the server mentioned they no longer had filet mignon - and they offered steak in exchange. We accepted and requested to then have risotto as a side vs the mashed potatoes. At the end they delivered the steak with mashed potatoes, the dessert was frozen and it took us at least 30 minutes between one course to the other and we almost missed the fireworks outside (we left the restaurant at 11:50pm) because they would always be late. I would never go to this restaurant again. Terrible experience!

It's always a pleasure to dine at Ristorante Piccolo. Impeccable service. Delicious food. I'm a bit disappointed in two things. (1) coats go on the back of chairs and purses on the floor. Tables are very close to each other. We were sat at a table with a piece of artwork on the wall, causing my husband to have this piece jab into his side while eating. They did move the table so the artwork was out of his way. I still believe it's a very romantic restaurant to be enjoyed. We will return again.

Very good italian food. Order fried calamari for appetizer and liked it so much, we ordered another plate of it. The pasta wad cooked to perfection, not overcooked. My husband and two kids (14 and 15 yrs) loved their entrees as well. Would definitely go back.

The food was fresh and hot when it came out (we got manicotti and chicken Marsala). The manicotti was very cheesy (as it should have been) and was presented well. The Marsala came with a side of pasta and a veggie. The service was good. Our server was quite comical and pleasant.

We were looking for a charming restaurant in Georgetown for Christmas Eve. We were not disappointed! The food was wonderful, the service attentive and the ambience exactly what we had envisioned....beautifully decorated, fireplaces lit, and as warm and inviting as one could hope for. The veal marsala was excellent as was the steak -- and the cannoli's did not disappoint! We have recommended to several friends and plan to return again (and again!).

The hosts were very welcoming and easily accommodated changing our reservation to an earlier time and my request to move tables. The wait staff were attentive and the atmosphere warm and inviting, especially in the main dining room. The food was very good and presented well. We are vegetarians and all of us found options. Will return.

Got a "Sicilian deep dish pizza" which tasted like a glorified bagel bite (for the record it was pizza baked onto a loaf of bread). My date's food was good but I ultimately paid $17 for a giant bagel bite.

Their 'pizza' was half a loaf of Italian bread with sauce, cheese and whatever else you wanted to add for $2.00. The $2.00 per item got me a very sparsely topped soggy piece of bread. The service was good, wine fine.

We live about 3 blocks from Piccolo and had never been. This is likely because none of our neighbors had suggested it and because there are some really excellent Italian restaurants in the Georgetown area. The restaurant building is very quaint so we decided to give it a try. It was a disappointment. First, the bistro style seating is very tight and we were seated next to a large group of younger college -ish age people who were loud and playing You-Tube videos with loud volume throughout the dinner. Its just way too crowded in there and we could not even have a conversation. Second the food - we said we were splitting the basel tomato salad but it came un-separated and in a stack making it hard to split without making a mess of the stack. A simple gesture like a good restaurant should do was not done here. The bus boy/junior waiter cleared our silverware after the bread and salad but then just plopped new silver ware in front of us in a pile rather than making any effort to set the table again. Then the food. I had the tortellini carbonara. The sauce was fine but the tortellini was mush - way over cooked. My wife had the ravioli but the sauce was like a campbells soup and way over salted. Finally the lead waiter was friendly...but rushed the entire dinner.....never stopped to recommend and the courses came super fast..we were in and out in 45 minutes. All in, it felt like a diner in terms of service and quality but I paid for it like a nice restaurant. I would suggest cafe milano, filomena, or one of the other Italian restaurants in the area that make their own noodles and know how to cook them correctly and who do not overly crowd you in - even for bistro style, this one was was way over-packed. Too bad. Really neat building in a great location.

The food was good, BUT two things really spoiled the evening: 1. I called the restaurant TWICE, including the day of, to make sure it was noted that we were celebrating my SIL and my husband's birthdays. The restaurant assured me they would handle desserts with candles. They completely dropped the ball, nothing!, and 2. Our waiter disappeared after our entrees were served. We were seeing an 8:00 p.m. show at the KC, and even with 5:00 reservations we were running out the door because we could not find our waiter. A real let down this year, very disappointing. I will rethink our reservation for Dec. 2018.

We were disappointed, we went there for a birthday and had a few issues. The tables are very close together and waiters kept hitting my chair every time they walkef by, the capse salad was poor size and quality, the chicken parm was small, and the prices were steep.

Excellent service. Top quality food....the Osso bucco was as good as I have ever had in North America. The complimentary dessert was a mocha cocoa tiramisu that the three forks probing it were actually dueling. The back room was holding two 12 or 14 person parties....the noise was at the high end of enjoyment but the food was promptly served and the three of us closed this cozy high-Italian ristorante down.
