Wow! Didn't even know this place existed but boy am I glad we stumbled upon it. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent!! And very reasonably priced! I shall return!
Great! Live violinist made my night!
The food was good and the staff was friendly but it was extremely loud. They had a live violinist, which would have been great if they weren't trying to accommodate several large parties and a multitude of other groups that were shouting over each other. The portions were a little less than satisfying but I was left wanting more from the plates even though we ordered appetizers and desserts. We ended up waiting on the check longer than it took us to eat the food. It also would have been nice to have wine options available that weren't over $50 a bottle. This place is probably better for lunch rather than a romantic dinner (especially if you want to talk to your date at all).
We very much enjoyed this restaurant. In the middle of Georgetown, lot's going on in the area.
We were surprised to get a reservation on short notice. Our waiter was very helpful with menu and had several suggestions. My chicken piccata was excellent. We would return. Next time we'll ask for a table on the balcony (great people watching).
Service was great! Recommend eating in the balcony.
It was great food and service, but where we sat was so close to another couple that it was hard to keep yourselves private.
Quiet gem in Georgetown! Friendly, engaging wait staff who paced our dining experience perfectly! All courses of dinner were fresh and flavorful! We’ll definitely return !!!!!
Excellent Italian comfort food!
I have frequented this restaurant for years. Its a hidden gem for good Italian food with solid bottle of wine. Love the vibe of the place and right in the heart of Georgetown. What fun!
1. Extremely loud & then on top of that, a violin player wanders around the dining room making it impossible to speak to anyone within an inch of one another.
2. Food was average & portions enormous. Way more than one person should eat.
3. Service was sub par.
Can’t wait to get back home to California!
Wonderful, sweet, warm place either for friends to talk and catch up, or a romantic dinner.
Fabulous as always! Great meals and desserts - we just love Piccolo! And the bonus was a seat by the fireplace...Thanks so much!
Portion size was small for Easter brunch. Food was good but we left hungry. Tables in the back are noisy.
Great food and a good atmosphere in a cozy spot with friendly staff.
Delicious food and excellent service!
The manager was rushing out waitress. The man who delivered our meals was incredibly rude.
We were late and they still were able to accommodate. Food was excellent, some of the best Italian we’ve had. The service was ok. The ambiance was good and the violinist was a nice touch although it raises the volume of the restaurant. I would highly recommend it.
Absolutely delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed an authentic taste of Italy. It is a pricey outing for a family of 5 so for us we save this restaurant for special occasions. The food is worth it.. but hold off for a special night if bribing kids along. We love this restaurant for dates, too.
Great place. Well recommended.
Amazing as always
Curt, disrespectful, and hurried service. Average food. Would not recommend or return.
Very nice Italian fare in the heart of Georgetown. Very fish was tasty, nice selection of wines. Good time had by all.
Family annual spring break trip to DC. Mid week reservation, moderately busy. Waiter was attentive but not chatty. Atmosphere was traditional old style Italian, cloth tables and italian decorations etc. My husband ordered the cioppino. Description says it had scallops, shrimp, calamari, mussels and clams but beware, it was very small portion for the price. Waiter was somewhat stingy walking around giving individual bread slices to each table. The agnolotti ai porcini ravioli was homemade and flavorful (4 ravioli). My son had the manicotti and enjoyed it but not the mini meatballs stuffed inside. Finished off the evening with the cherry sorbet (fresh/homemade) not that fake sugary cherry flavor. Good meal but small portions for price and overall dated atmosphere.
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to!!! Amazing food and great environment!
Meeting friends from CA
We overheard the waiter trying to convince a table of young women that DC water is unsafe to drink so they would buy bottled water. Had 4 different servers and food took forever to be delivered. Not up to par at that.
The food was absolutely fantastic, great wine selection, the staff was extremely friendly and very attentive.
Excellent Italian in Georgetown!
Wonderful "Old school" Italian with a romantic yet modern flair. The food was marvellous and the service very attentive. Enoyed our evening very much!
good food but really tired atmoshpere. need to update the finishes, replace the old plastic lamenated menus . doing this would make the resturant much more desirable. Des[ite liking the food and service, we won't go back unless they update the decor and finishes.
The food is always excellent at Piccolo. The violinist is a nice touch, but very loud, especially upstairs.
We have always had wonderful meals with good service and a pleasant atmosphere at Piccolo.
Great food and great service. The food was excellent, as usual. I always recommend Ristorante Piccolo to my friends and coworkers
Had a wonderful dinner here with friends! Excellent food and service.
Great meal with my wife and two oldest adult kids. Food was great. We sat on the second floor which is better for conversation but the table was a bit cramped in a corner.
Grossly overpriced for mediocre food. The “ambience” in the rear section (which is most of the restaurant) consists of tightly-crowded tables, red colors everwhere, and a violinist (which was just overbearing in the small space).
A veal dish had very little veal, maybe 100 grams, and a huge pile of boiled spaghetti. When I asked for a “pasta that has some taste”, after 8 minutes I was given a new bowl of almost the same thing.
My bill for one person (wine and tip included) came to US$ 60. It wasn’t worth US$ 15.
Definitely a favorite for my wife and I. Great romantic spot with nice ambiance and food prices are reasonable. And we always enjoy the violinist taking requests!
Unknown before my visit, I escorted a group of people on tour to this lovely restaurant, and we had great food and a good time. The servers were polite, though a diner at a table next to us started to play some music on her phone. She quickly recognized her faux pas, and then it became quieter. They put out bread, oil, and balsamic, and when I asked for a bowl of minced garlic to accompany it, they were a bit surprised, but they came through perfectly!
Not as romantic as some may like, but the eggplant parmesan over pasta that I ordered was excellent!
Super disappointing experience. Had to ask (again) about a table I had reserved even though I had called that afternoon to confirm. We sat down and were rushed to order wine and food. Server wasn’t that attentive and seemed to just want us to leave. He took away our plates before we were done, kept filling up the wines glasses, and wasn’t all that courteous. Not worth the value.
Great Italian restaurant with great service. Food came out fast and the waiters were very friendly and helpful with the menu items. Food was delicious
