I enjoyed everything about this restaurant - the food, atmosphere, service, etc. We will definitely be coming back soon!
A delightful and eclectic venue for a splendid dinner. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive, food is sublime. Make Piccolo a must visit on your list!
Great ambiance and the stilling violinist added to to romance. We went for restaurant week and the food was outstanding. The grilled octopus they served as an appetizer was fantastic.
What a wonderful evening. From the host to the wait staff to the busboys, everyone made our dinner feel special. Ristorante Piccolo is a beautiful and elegant hole in the wall with great service and even better food. We were both more than pleased with our first experience here and will absolutely be coming back!
No one in my party of 4 enjoyed their food. And afterwards 2 members of my party felt sick. There was a live violinist nice touch but we went thereto eat. The only item that was enjoyed by a member in my group was the pineapple mojito
Delicious! I came here for the first time as part of restaurant week. I've already recommended this to a handful of friends, and I'll be back, too.
My friend and I got the exact same dishes:
1. Mozzarella Fritti
2. Ravioli di Costolette Brasato
2. Torta di Limoncello
Mozzarella - these were clearly crafted in the kitchen. Mozzarella hand breaded and fried, served with their delicious marinara.
Ravioli - I can't say enough good things about this. These ravioli are homemade at the restaurant, and this specific dish had them stuffed with braised short rib. Not sure what the sauce was, but it was very flavorful. I didn't see this specific dish on the regular menu, but I would urge them to add it. It was phenomenal.
Limoncello Sponge Cake - so good! I think of it like a tiramasu, but lemon. I could have eaten another slice, but then again, I could have eaten more of everything I had.
Service was amazing. The staff was attentative, answered all my questions, brought me a side of the lemon caper sauce from anther dish so I could try it... :) Thank you. You're great.
The only criticism I can offer, is that I wish the ravioli dish would have had 6-8 raviolis instead of 4 to make it more worth the value.
5 stars all the way, and I'll be back. Thanks a great meal!
Real Italian! Cozy, service good, just noise level is very high. But it is lovely.
My wife and I went last night for restaurant week menu that we ordered off of it. Don’t waste your time and money. Go somewhere else.
My wife and I aren’t food snobs, but we are well traveled to include many trips to Italy. This doesn’t even come close to authentic Italian and we don’t understand the positive reviews. Even if we did order off the restaurant week menu, it still should be good enough to entice you to come back for their regular one.
1st - I had the Pappardelle d’Agnello
a slow-cooked lamb ragù tossed with pappardelle pasta. The meat was definitely NOT lamb at all and it was just ground beef or pork with little flavor. Talk about a scam.
2nd - My wife had the Risotto ai Porcini con Capesante, imported Arborio rice sautéed and simmered with porcini mushrooms, sprinkled with parmeggiano Reggiano cheese and topped with pan-seared scallops. The rice tasted disgustingly bitter like it was spoiled and it ruined the whole dish. The scallops were good at least.
3rd - We both had the tiramisu for dessert and it was dreadful. The lady fingers were stale and chewy, it wasn’t soaked enough, and the mascarpone cream was way too overpowering. It didn’t have the distinctive espresso taste that it typically should.
Again, don’t waste your time and money here. We don’t write too many reviews, but this was so bad for the price we had to especially since what they served was a lie compared to what was said on the menu.
I was unaware that there would be a strolling violinist, which interrupted our conversation with unenthusiastically played tunes.
Love this place - service, atmosphere and food is wonderful.
Very good. First time here. Had the squid ink pasta. Highly recommend. Pasta is homemade and fresh af.
Excellent fare; wonderful wait staff; great experience
The Osso Bucco was amazing! The wait staff are great at recommending a wine to pair with your meal.
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Truly beloved by me and my family. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
It was absolutely perfect! It was my birthday and I was treated so well -- from the maitre d, to the best waiter ever, to the wonderful violinist who played Happy Birthday and two more songs for me (Ave Maria & Danny Boy, both of which made me cry). I had always wanted to go to this restaurant when I lived in Georgetown in my 20's & 30's ... waiting until my 60th birthday wasn't the plan, but it was well worth waiting for -- I had the time of my life -- thank you all so much!
Anniversary dinner at a lovely, romantic dinner. Great food and spectacular service. Looking forward to our next opportunity to dine there.
The food was wonderful but although it would be saturday nigth, it was a bit poor of people.
PS. The violin was marvellous!!
Loved our waiter, the Albanian gentleman. He took great care of us! Will be back!
Unfortunately we came on a night when they were very understaffed. The food meets the expectations of American - Italian food and was very good. Aside from a bit of chaos with too few servers, the restaurant is very cosy and romantic.
It was a New Year meal. I have to go back to give a better review. They were already out of one of two appetizers. Portions were small and neither bad nor outstanding. I guess for the cost of a four course meal it was ok.
Deliciously authentic Italian food. The NYE prix fixe menu and left with a full belly and happy heart.
The New Year’s Eve dinner was delicious. Our waiter was MIA for most of the meal, though. We ended up placing our drink order with another waiter. We had to ask for our bread, which we had never gotten, so as to round out the meal even though our dessert had already arrived. Nonetheless, the food was perfectly prepared, and we would go back without hesitation. Hopefully the service was just a by-product of the busy, holiday dinner.
New Years Eve at the Picollo has become a tradition. Never lets us down. Enjoyed the food and the great service. See you in 2021!
It was a very nice early evening dinner on New Year's Eve. There was a strolling violinist, and some simple but nice decorations. The menu was Prix Fixe, but there were a nice selection of offerings.
We came here for their New Years Eve dinner, and really enjoyed it! The food was very good and the decor and ambiance was perfect. We thought the dinner special was well priced and the service was good. I’d definitely return and would love to come for a cute date night!
Very busy New Years Eve early seating. Service knocked down to 4 stars because they brought hubby the wrong entree (seafood vs. steak). He accepted it, but asked to swap his red wine for white, and had to ask a second time for the correct wine. Water refills were prompt. Servers were all pleasant. Nice table beside the fireplace where we could hear each other well and chat without raised voices.
Every aspect of our meal was exceptional. Highly recommended dining experience in Georgetown.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The food took some time to come out. Good experience.
Very quaint cozy dinning especially at Christmas time. The fire place was lit. Made for a wonderful family dinner. The service especially our waiter was incredible. Very accommodating He went over and above to make sure we were happy
Lunch was amazing. We went back for dinner and hard to believe it was even better. Roving violinist (really talented) was fun. Great Christmas celebration. We will be back!!
great food and service. excellent ambience: got a table in the nook next to the fireplace.
Exquisite Italian! Light flavorful dishes. PERFECTLY cooked pasta.
Tourist trap with subpar food. Avoid this restaurant and look for a non tourist restaurant. Reviews were outstanding for this place which means the people reviewing have no idea what a good restaurant is all about. Terrible!!
Terrible service! As soon as we arrived we were rushed to order, we asked for a couple of minutes and then our waiter disappeared and we couldn’t find him. Then we waited for our food for more than an hour and it arrived cold!! Our waiter didn’t even apologize for the delay or ask if everything was OK. We HATED IT!!
We went here on Christmas Day. Although it was one of the few places open and the place was busy, we were served very promptly and the service was amazing. Food was delicious. I will definitely come back and recommend it 100%
Excellent for date night!
Loved this place! So charming and cozy - perfect date place!
Wonderful service! Wonderful ambiance! The food was absolutely delicious!
Good spot for a date night with your spouse/significant other. Food was well prepared, drinks were good, and dessert was good too.
