Visiting our daughter!
This is my second time going and my second time being IMPRESSED! The food is amazing and the customer service matched. The food is definitely made to order, not one time did it taste boxed or frozen. I also enjoyed their raspberry soda, yum yum! It's a cute quaint little intimate spot full of delicious surprises, JUST GO!
The food was amazing and our Waiter was fun and engaging
Celebrating 7 children and 1 grandchild...and being away from them all on Valentines Day weekend. We highly recommend romantic dinners here and the food and service are excellent. You’ll be tipping well because of how great it is. Our dinner lasted a lovely 2.25 hours!
Street closed due to massive construction, which resulted in a low rumbling/vibration during the entire meal. Not the restaurants fault with all the canal work being done, but dampers the ambiance. Would definitely go back once the construction is done
The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. Nabil was our waiter and provided great recommendations for our meals. Thank you so much for making our Valentine’s Day dinner incredible!!
Nothing special. Average food. Glad I didn’t go here for a special occasion
It was fabulous! Great food & great service!
Dinner and server was great but management try’s to flip tables faster then one can enjoy the dinner. I’m not going out to dinner to be rushed thru service when I’m paying you to eat
Came here for brunch with some friends and did the $28 deal. Excellent meal and cute restaurant!
Welcoming, gracious host, with a highly professional staff (friendly, not stuffy), and an obviously outstanding chef. The host and staff welcomed our late arrival due to a Kennedy Center rehearsal, and were all quite concerned with the late arrival of our Lyft ride once we were ready to leave. All that, plus the charming decor,w ill definitely put Restaurant Piccolo on our "return to restaurant" list. Thank you all for a lovely lunch!
Food was excellent. The room was tight, and a little loud.
We had a wonderful lunch before a show. Easy walk from the Kennedy center. My daughter and I had the ravioli. Delicious! We will definitely dine there again.
Great service in a beautiful setting..wine was great. The only reason we gave it a 4 was it was the clam sauce was a little salty. The bread was delicious!!
Risotto balls were weird. The risotto fell apart. Sauce wasn’t great. Ordered steak with truffle butter. Truffle butter wasn’t warm enough and didn’t melt easily. Didn’t taste very truffle-ie. steak was way overcooked. Asked for warm red center - got hot pinking brown center. It looked like it had been broiled. They brought me a new one. Still wasn’t great. So many great spots in this town - will not be back.
The best birthday dinner ever. Left overs even better today.
We have been to Risorante Piccolo many times over the years and our last Sat night visit did not disappoint. The food and service was great. The atmosphere is always warm and cozy. The violin player moving from table to table added a special touch and added to a memorable evening.
We had such a lovely dinner. We had just come from engagement ring shopping, and we got a table by the fireplace. Had the branzino special and filet mignon, Botha delicious. Cozy and romantic!
I enjoyed everything about this restaurant - the food, atmosphere, service, etc. We will definitely be coming back soon!
A delightful and eclectic venue for a splendid dinner. Service is attentive yet unobtrusive, food is sublime. Make Piccolo a must visit on your list!
Great ambiance and the stilling violinist added to to romance. We went for restaurant week and the food was outstanding. The grilled octopus they served as an appetizer was fantastic.
What a wonderful evening. From the host to the wait staff to the busboys, everyone made our dinner feel special. Ristorante Piccolo is a beautiful and elegant hole in the wall with great service and even better food. We were both more than pleased with our first experience here and will absolutely be coming back!
No one in my party of 4 enjoyed their food. And afterwards 2 members of my party felt sick. There was a live violinist nice touch but we went thereto eat. The only item that was enjoyed by a member in my group was the pineapple mojito
Delicious! I came here for the first time as part of restaurant week. I've already recommended this to a handful of friends, and I'll be back, too.
My friend and I got the exact same dishes:
1. Mozzarella Fritti
2. Ravioli di Costolette Brasato
2. Torta di Limoncello
Mozzarella - these were clearly crafted in the kitchen. Mozzarella hand breaded and fried, served with their delicious marinara.
Ravioli - I can't say enough good things about this. These ravioli are homemade at the restaurant, and this specific dish had them stuffed with braised short rib. Not sure what the sauce was, but it was very flavorful. I didn't see this specific dish on the regular menu, but I would urge them to add it. It was phenomenal.
Limoncello Sponge Cake - so good! I think of it like a tiramasu, but lemon. I could have eaten another slice, but then again, I could have eaten more of everything I had.
Service was amazing. The staff was attentative, answered all my questions, brought me a side of the lemon caper sauce from anther dish so I could try it... :) Thank you. You're great.
The only criticism I can offer, is that I wish the ravioli dish would have had 6-8 raviolis instead of 4 to make it more worth the value.
5 stars all the way, and I'll be back. Thanks a great meal!
Real Italian! Cozy, service good, just noise level is very high. But it is lovely.
My wife and I went last night for restaurant week menu that we ordered off of it. Don’t waste your time and money. Go somewhere else.
My wife and I aren’t food snobs, but we are well traveled to include many trips to Italy. This doesn’t even come close to authentic Italian and we don’t understand the positive reviews. Even if we did order off the restaurant week menu, it still should be good enough to entice you to come back for their regular one.
1st - I had the Pappardelle d’Agnello
a slow-cooked lamb ragù tossed with pappardelle pasta. The meat was definitely NOT lamb at all and it was just ground beef or pork with little flavor. Talk about a scam.
2nd - My wife had the Risotto ai Porcini con Capesante, imported Arborio rice sautéed and simmered with porcini mushrooms, sprinkled with parmeggiano Reggiano cheese and topped with pan-seared scallops. The rice tasted disgustingly bitter like it was spoiled and it ruined the whole dish. The scallops were good at least.
3rd - We both had the tiramisu for dessert and it was dreadful. The lady fingers were stale and chewy, it wasn’t soaked enough, and the mascarpone cream was way too overpowering. It didn’t have the distinctive espresso taste that it typically should.
Again, don’t waste your time and money here. We don’t write too many reviews, but this was so bad for the price we had to especially since what they served was a lie compared to what was said on the menu.
I was unaware that there would be a strolling violinist, which interrupted our conversation with unenthusiastically played tunes.
Love this place - service, atmosphere and food is wonderful.
Very good. First time here. Had the squid ink pasta. Highly recommend. Pasta is homemade and fresh af.
Excellent fare; wonderful wait staff; great experience
The Osso Bucco was amazing! The wait staff are great at recommending a wine to pair with your meal.
One of my all time favorite restaurants. Truly beloved by me and my family. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
It was absolutely perfect! It was my birthday and I was treated so well -- from the maitre d, to the best waiter ever, to the wonderful violinist who played Happy Birthday and two more songs for me (Ave Maria & Danny Boy, both of which made me cry). I had always wanted to go to this restaurant when I lived in Georgetown in my 20's & 30's ... waiting until my 60th birthday wasn't the plan, but it was well worth waiting for -- I had the time of my life -- thank you all so much!
Anniversary dinner at a lovely, romantic dinner. Great food and spectacular service. Looking forward to our next opportunity to dine there.
The food was wonderful but although it would be saturday nigth, it was a bit poor of people.
PS. The violin was marvellous!!
Loved our waiter, the Albanian gentleman. He took great care of us! Will be back!
Unfortunately we came on a night when they were very understaffed. The food meets the expectations of American - Italian food and was very good. Aside from a bit of chaos with too few servers, the restaurant is very cosy and romantic.
