A fantastic dining experience! We were treated like royalty from the time we entered the restaurant until we walked out the door. The food was fantastic! We will definitely be going back soon!
Kennedy center play
We are always very happy with our visits several times each year. The menu has changed a few times since the late eighties but remains fresh and delicious. ENJOY EVERYONE.
Outstanding service. Food was really good. Nice find and will definitely eat here again.
The food was fantastic. We had a pretty irritating situation with our server, though, and were not happy with how it was handled. We were a table of six visiting during restaurant week. My six year old daughter was one of the people at the table, and wanted to order one of the kids flatbreads for dinner, not the restaurant week special.
The appetizer course came out and I asked the waiter if they could bring my daughter's food now rather than wait as she was hungry.
The main course comes out, and we are all sitting with our food other than my daughter, who still hasn't gotten her food. I call the waiter over, who informs me that she didn't order food. He assumed she would eat off other people's plates at the table.
That seems like a pretty big assumption to me.
He put in a rush order, but her food didn't come out until everyone else was done and waiting for their desserts.
The part about it though that was most annoying, other than his ridiculous assumption, was that he refused to acknowledge his fault and apologize.
Definitely a taint on what would otherwise have been a great meal.
The restaurant was closed due to a gas main being cut by construction workers in front of the restaurant. Received notification from Open Table.
Service was quick and the waiter was attentive. We ate outside on a quaint balcony. However, a bit of noise due to construction next door (Not the restaurant's fault), and our food was okay. I had arancini to start- the middle was cold. My filet mignon was so well done it did not even look like a filet. Very pricey and the food was not as expected. We dined during restaurant week, so maybe the food wasn't great due to the high demand- but...the place was pretty empty while we were there (6:45 pm on a Monday evening).
Food and service were both outstanding! Such a quaint romantic restaurant in the heart of Georgetown. Our waitstaff was fawning over us! We went for my daughter's birthday celebration and it was delightful. Our party was too large to sit outside on the balcony, but if you have a twosome - GO!
Our first time there and will go back and recommend to friends.
I have dined here numerous times but it’s been a year since I’ve been. Sadly it was not the warm, great service I’ve experienced in the past. The wine list seemed more limited and the food portions seemed smaller.
we've been there before. Great Italian food. The violinist is great. Prices are reasonable for Georgetown. Would never hesitate to go back. The spicy shrimp appetizer is very tasty.
Authentic Italian food, great atmosphere on Saturday night. They had a violinist playing throughout the night. I will go back for sure!
Great experience and comfortable dining.
Food and service were outstanding! Highly recommend the mushroom ravioli!
Excellent food and service. Near waterfront. Would recommend for any occasion.
Fantastic food and excellent service in an amazing atmosphere. Have been here several times and can't wait to go back again!
We were here for my sons birthday celebration and it was wonderful; all the staff were very hospitable and the service was excellent as well as the food! Loved our time here.
My dining companions were very pleased with their meals. I tasted my husband's lasagna and it was very good. Unfortunately, I had the halibut, which was dry and overcooked. I prefer my fish to be well cooked but this was a little further along than was good for such a nice piece of fish. I ordered polenta on the side. It was cold, tasteless, unappetizing. Try pan frying it in a hot pan so that the edges crisp up. Perhaps with some fresh herbs? Sage is very good with pan-fried polenta.
Perfect place for a great experience!
Delicious, classic Italian food with great service!
We had a reservation for 4 on a Saturday in July and were quite pleased. We were met at the door with a smile and promptly seated. Our waiter Alex was fun, informative, and professional. He kept us up to date as to when our meal would arrive. We ordered eggplant parmesan, pan sautéed halibut w/ fresh pasta (our choice) and spinach, and risotto, and a side of roasted asparagus. Everyone loved their meal and the portions were adequate. We decided to split tiramisu which was also delicious. It did get a little noisy as the restaurant was full but you could still have a comfortable conversation. There was a violinist playing when we sat down around 7PM and he was quite entertaining. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!
Great food and wine. Eggplant app was my favorite but everyone enjoyed their various ravioli and pasta dishes.
Such a cute restaurant and loved the violinist. A little loud inside, but overall enjoyed our meal!
We love this place and come whenever we can. Obviously, we are not alone becasue even though it was early - 6 pm on a Saturday night - it was crowded. We like to come here before the Kennedy Center.
Service was mediocre at that. The waiter was trying to rush us, told him that we needed time to figure out what we wanted.
My husbands meal was amazing, he ordered the chicken parmigiana. I order tortellini carbonara, which was disgusting and highly disappointing. Who ever though that was a great combination, really missed the spot on that one.
The risotto was divine, the service excellent and overall a great place to dine !
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Authentic Italian and not heavy. We’re excited to return.
Wow! Now that was an amazing experience. Great service, great food, nice drinks. Top notch Italian spot in DC. In Sicilian and it’s tough to get Italian right. PIccolo hits it out of the park.
Really excellent food at this restaurant next to our hotel. Only downside was that the noise level was on the high side - like Sunday lunch in mama’s Sicilian kitchen.
Lovely restaurant. Very welcoming, food gorgeous and service excellent.
Terrific food! Bustling on a Saturday night. (Cozy table in front window too close to patrons checking in/waiting.) Definitely will return!!
My date got me into bed off how good this ravioli was. He's pretty cute already, but this ravioli sealed the deal. 10/10 would recommend
We were lucky to sit in the few balcony tables overlooking the street so that made our experience unique. We may have had different experience downstairs and inside but we felt special on the nice summer evening. Food was good.
Really good, traditional Italian food. We don’t eat seafood, so we had pasta (bucatini bolognese) and chicken parmigiana. Both excellent, as was the arancini. We will definitely return!
50th wedding anniversary
Had drinks at the little bar before dinner. Both experiences were great!
We loved the food, the view from the balcony, and the roaming violinist. We highly recommend.
Excellent service, many food choices for all. Dinner special I ordered was good but lacked presentation/wow factor for the price. My sisters seafood dish lacked tasteful scallops. All of the other food ordered was fabulous. The atmosphere was wonderful.
It has been consistently good over the years whether we are dining with a large group or by ourselves. The staff is very helpful and professional and the food is dependably good.
Thank you for your 5-star review and patronage over the years! We love our repeat customers!! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Excellent food and service! We made a reservation here ahead of time for our weekend getaway in the DC area. We loved it so much we went back the next night.
That's fantastic--just what we love!! Thank you for your 5-star review and kind words! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Gas smell and the food wasn’t good
We appreciate your feedback & are sorry that you did not enjoy your visit with us. I only wish that you had asked for a manager--we would have moved your table and changed your food choice! I checked, & the gas smell was due to several table candles going out at the same time. With regards, to your dishes, would you mind sharing with me what it is you ordered so that I can discuss it with the kitchen. My email is: email@example.com_m. Thank you, & we hope that you will visit us again. Tony
