I loooooove this hidden gem!! It has never failed me & I have been several times! Their customer service is always super friendly and the food is ALWAYS delicious! Please please PLEASE keep up this great experience!!!
Food and service was excellent! It is always nice to dine where the wait staff is very experienced.
The food was good but nothing amazing for the higher end price your paying. The ambience was really bright which was a bit odd. Servers were very nice but not the fastest. Overall not super memorable.
The service was great and the atmosphere was quiet and romantic. Food was outstanding and came out hot and quick. Will definitely come back
Valentine’s Day lunch
My fiancé and I booked a dinner table for Valentine's Day at the Piccolo. We couldn't have had a more romantic dinner in such a lovely atmosphere. The ambiance is very cozy at the same time elegant. The food is seasoned and cooked to perfection, beautifully dished, and is served with generous portions. The taste is as authentic is as it gets. And add the live violin performance to it we had one memorable Valentine's dinner to remember.
The staff is very welcoming (shout out to the manager Franky who made us feel at home!)
I highly recommend this lovely spot, and if you go there, definitely try the lobster ravioli.
Amazing romantic spot! When I was deciding on a valentines day dinner I saw Ristorante Piccolo on my recommendations and read the reviews and took a chance and believe me it was amazing. The food is so tasty and great portions. The ambiance is small and cozy but very romantic and the violinist is a plus. The desserts were to die for along with a great cup of cappuccino. I'm planning on coming back again!
I have nothing bad to say. The restaurant is quaint and cozy, the food was excellent. I enjoyed the service as well as the wonderful violinist. Came here for my birthday which falls on valentines day weekend, and I really enjoyed myself.
Awesome service and awesome food. Really take care of the customer. Everything had good flavor.
Great evening, great food and a nice wine list! Enjoy this place a lot.
Nice atmosphere great Italian food not to pricey for a date. And the violinist was great also. Drinks were strong which is a plus in my book.
No seafood available, absurd wait, terrible service.
The food is delicious, the owner is also the chef, the staff is friendly, Nabil takes great care of us. My office is in Georgetown, and this is our go to. Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
It was date night, have been here a few times and found the food to be quite good. One of my favorite spots actually.
So good! love this place and come all the time - they never disappoint!
Very disappointing overall. They were way too busy than how they were staffed. They did not have our table ready when we arrived so we were forced to wait and then sit right by the front door, so it was very busy and cold. The server would barley check on us and it would be 20 minutes in between times, the whole experience took over two and a half hours, which we did not anticipate. My boyfriends steak was ordered medium rare, it came out well, but he was forced to eat it because the server never came back to check in at how things came out. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I believe the server realized his poor service and took off a round of drinks and my dessert, since they didn’t have the one I wanted so that made up for some of it. I was recommended the place because it was “the best Italian food in the city” and I will not be returning because the food was not worth the bad experience.
Excellent staff, Nice food
Absolutely wonderful place. Never had a meal I didn't like here. 10/10 recommend
Great ambiance and delicious food!
This was a cute date place. I feel the some of the food needed a bit more seasoning. I loved that they had someone playing the violin
Excellent service
Great ambience for a relaxing dinner experience. Highly recommended for couples.
Excellent food and service, adorable and authentic!
Nice location, the staff are professionals and the food delicious
The restaurant has a nicely diverse menu with small plates, appetizers, pasta, meat and fish dishes. The full plates tend to be generous in their portions and the starters, the appetizers, are not only good but diverse in terms of seafood, vegetables and cheese. Now, there is seating outside on the street and that tends to be somewhat noisy due to the traffic, now through traffic after the completion of the new bridge that crosses the canal on 31st Street.
The service could be a bit more attentive as there are lapses when there is no one there who is watching or even asking if everything is alright. I like to be spoiled when I eat in a restaurant and while the service is somewhat attentive, they do not spoil you. This is not the Cafe Milano but it is a solid Italian restaurant.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and cozy with an almost old world charm. There are gas fireplaces in several rooms, perhaps 4 in all and the tables are on 2 floors. There are wide plank floors and elegantly set tables with white tablecloths. Covid prohibits eating indoors right now but I will be there once this scourge is life, eating indoors in the cold months. On the second floor, there is a small balcony with tables for two people. In the summer it would be divine. All in all, this is a good restaurant with good food and acceptable service. If they paid attention to the small details, it would be even better.
Went to dine on my wife’s birthday. They truly made the occasion special. There is a ban on indoor dining in DC due to COVID and we had to eat outside. The staff was very accommodating and ensured we were as comfortable as possible (heaters and tents). Social distancing made the experience feel safe in these trying times. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The ambiance inside is really nice (took a peek on the way to the restroom) and we will definitely be back to dine here again. Please support our local restaurants or they might not be here when the pandemic is under control.
P.S. The Lobster Risotto was spectacular!!!
Family dinner excellent food and service!
The food and service was amazing, but I was expecting more food for the amount we had to pay for the dish.
Outstanding service Chafik our server was very professional ,the manager brry friendly the food was amazing! We had a good time definitely wego back and i highly recommend this place.
Absolutely wonderful - good, service, & ambiance
The restaurant did an amazing job placing tables more than six feet apart for social distancing. Felt very comfortable and safe with the precautions they took.
The food and service for our brunch was wonderful. Will be back
3rd time at Ristorante Piccolo and it’s always a cut above the rest. From Valentine’s Day to taking my girlfriend to her 30th birthday by a fireplace with live violin playing, decorated beautifully. Food was another level. Tasting menu prepared by the chef with a gorgeous bottle of wine. Always a night to remember.
One of the best overall dining experiences in a while- from checking in to our departure they made us feel special. Will be putting on the rotation!!
Charming family-owned Italian restaurant in a historic building. Our waiter Nabil is a gem! And the food really delivers. Lobster risotti is outstanding and the homemade pastas are delicious. Highly recommend!
The food was very good. The place was super cute and cozy. Decorated beautifully for the holidays. The service however was slow.
The seating experience was amazing. My server met every request with excellence. My fiancé has celiac’s disease and the server made sure to cater to her allergies. He had great recommendations as well. Overall, his service and the experience made it a restaurant I will come back to in the future and made it a memorable night as well.
The food and service was amazing! Great for special occasions or a treat, but priced very reasonably.
So amazing!!! The food. The service. The gracious staff. It was fantastic!!!!
Food was exceptional, especially given the cost! Very reasonable prices for great quality food. Strolling violinist was phenomenal. He moved around the restaurant playing Christmas tunes. When he was finished, however, the music that was played was very weird. It was a weird mix of music that did not match the ambiance or vibe of the restaurant. Would’ve appreciated more calming classical music or Christmas music given the time of year instead of the pop, rock, mix they played.
Our server came to table fo check on us following a smoke break, which was off putting. The smell of his recently smoked cigarettes linger around our table after he left. He was extremely nice but that was a little annoying.
All in all, we had a lovely time. Again, the food was great. We ended up getting dessert for free which was a delightful surprise. Highly recommend the tiramisu!
Nice evening out near our hotel. I would reconnect it. We had a great corner table that made it special.
