The waitstaff couldn't have been more helpful!
Food was very good. I had pasta primavera, and my husband had the pork. The drinks were also good. We had a very nice young server who did not hurry us. We had dinner with friends whom we hadn't seen in over 6 months, so we had a lot to talk about, and our server let us sit and sit. A very nice dining experience.
Excellent food, and attentive service!
Never disappointed by Olivio. Attentive but not intrusive service and the highest quality of food. Varied menu and nice selection of wine.
Was not offered better seating. Prompt service. Good salad, lettuce could have been fresher. Entrees were good with generous portions, but one of the risottos was oversalted. Did not include vegetables. Tiramisu was very good.
Good local neighborhood restraunt
excellent food - staff friendly and knowledgeable but not overbearing
Thursday "ladies night out" good deal
20% tip mandatory on groups of 6+. That's higher than typical elsewhere of 18% for groups, but I knew this in advance, so no gripe. When bill arrived 20% had been charged not only on food and bev, but also on top of tax! Was told "that's how the computer does it"--um, no, that's called gouging customers. If baseline service had been at 20% quality, a few extra bucks would have been fine. I'm happy to tip very well for great service. But service was not even 20% level. Very pleasant, but not expert. Repeat requests for things, plus salads brought WAY in advance of any hot appetizers, etc. Awkward. Been taken here a few times with a good friend who is a big fan; food generally good, but we shall give this place a little rest.
I have eaten here often, and always had great service. Sat. 5/5 I had a 7pm reservation for my favorite table. I checked in with the maitre d' 10 mins before 7. I went outside to wait for 2 friends. 5 min. later, we went inside. THE MAITRE D' SAT ANOTHER PARTY AT OUR RESERVED TABLE!!! His only explanation was "they came in." We were outraged! He did nothing, and there was only one table left. We did not get menus or water for almost 20 mins. We waited 20 mins. for our entrees. And he did not even offer us free dessert. WHY WOULD A HOSPITALITY EMPLOYEE BE SO INHOSPITABLE?? The worst treatment I have ever had, and I eat out at many places. Totally unforgivable, rude, unprofessional. If he worked for me, he'd be fired on the spot.
To me, Olivio's truly is a "neighborhood gem". The service is great, and I've never had a bad meal there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating but not intrusive. Whenever I'm planning to go out to dinner, Olivio's is at the top of my list of recommendations!
We thought we had found all the best neighborhood restaurants in part of the burbs then here is one that has been around for a long time that somehow we missed. What others apparently have known for a long time we discovered. Great service, great food, generous portions at a reasonable price.
My girlfriend loves this place in Arlington Center so we dined there for her birthday. For me, a first-time visitor, it was only "just OK". I thought it was expensive - $70 for two people before tip, with only one beer consumed and no desserts. The food was good but there was no "wow" factor. The bread was too hard and our waitress removed it from the table before we were finished with it. Finally, you're forced to find on-street parking in busy Arlington Center. Overall, I was underwhelmed and feel there are better Italian food values in the Metrowest area.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal. The cocktails were strong, the salads fresh and the entrees delicious. I liked the three milk cake as well, and the coffee was good and strong. The waitstaff was hardworking and attentive. We would go again, although my husband has decided that he does not like veal. The prepartaion was fine, he just realized it's not his favorite. The host was friendly too. Recommend!
A great dinner.
My wife and I visited Ristorante Olivio for the first time on several recommendations. We had a wonderful experience from the very beginning. Everyone was polite and we were seated immediately at a nice table by the window. We had a friendly and knowledgeable server, and were excited about the menu.
Everything from the wine to the appetizer and pasta dishes was fantastic! We split one of the larger appetizers and ordered two different pastas, had a nice Chianti, and saved room to split a Cannoli with espressos. We very much look forward to visiting RO again to try more of the menu!
The pig platter, an assortment of Italian hams, was outstanding. Enough for 4 as an appetizer. For a main course I had a dish that was like a fruita de mar but on top of bread rather than pasta. It was both a generous portion and very tasty.
Loved the food and atmosphere. Ate at the bar and enjoyed the company of John, the bartender. Very good service.
very busy night for the restaurant, while the waiter was great, the food was extreemly slow. food was great though and worth the wait
fabulous food, service, atmosphere. :)
The ambiance and service were fine, but the food was bland and unimaginative. Not the neighborhood go-to place I thought it would be.
I went during restaraunt week and got a chicken dish. It was ok except that was a strong taste of maple in the sauce that doused the plate. Normally this would not be to big of a deal but it was so overwhelming and i hate maple. There was no mention of the aditional flavoring in the description.
Good Food, Great Service! We love this restaurant. They always change up the menu but keep the favorites. Everything is delicious. For dessert we tried the peanut butter cannoli-mmmmmmmmmm!
Our dinner was excellent as usual. The service was friendly and prompt. Ristorante Olivio is a reliable and comfortable place to have Italian food and the menu is divers enough to provide options for multiple returns. The wine list is fairly broad and reasonably priced and the lower cost wines are high quality. The location across the street from the Capital Theatre makes it convenient for a nice early dinner before seeing a movie.
Exceeded our expectations. Everything went smoothly. No rush.
We requested and got a quiet table.
Everything about the place was predicated on "We're glad you are our guest and intend to make it a good experience.
Four of us ordered from a diverse Restaurant Week menu. From lightly breaded veal to beautifully prepared salmon with mussels, the appetizers and entres were well prepared. The wait staff was always attentive and well informed as to the menu and accompanying wines. Great place to dine!
Fantastic, creative Italian dishes. Noticibly fresh ingredients. Huge portions meant lunch the next day! save room for the decadent dessert menu.
We've always enjoyed going out to Olivio's and that's for 10+ years now. The food and service are consistently excellent.
We recommend it to anyone in the area and have always brought friends and family there for a fine meal and enjoyable evening.
Excellent. Quality food that was served impeccably.
We love Olivio's. We discovered this restaurant 2 years ago and have been coming back regularly ever since. The menu offers choices that will suit everyone in your party with great daily specials. (I had the panko crusted cod which was excellent.) The service is outstanding. From the moment we walk in the front door we are greeted by name, seated promptly, and catch up with our favorite waitstaff. They also do wine dinners every 3 or 4 months, and have private tastings for new menu items. Overall, outstanding dining experience.
$30 prix fix dinner was a plus. Not for late dining:
if you don't want to have dessert while the staff sits down at nearby table door for supper start your dinner by 7pm.
This place could be really good, but the prices are a bit high for the fairly standard Italian food offered. A little lower in price and a little more creativity would go far here! Delicious bread from the bakery next store though!
The service was GREAT. The staff were friendly, quick and very accomodating in terms of menu selection, preparing special dishes, etc. That was GREAT! The food, however, was rather disappointing. Although I have never been there before, several members of my party had eaten there on several occasions and have loved the food. They, too, were disappointed. Hopefully it was just an 'off night'.
We were expecting great things at Ristorante Olivio - we were disappointed. The ambiance is nice. Service was good. The food was awful, just greasy yucky food and tons of it. We were extremely underwhelmed and won't be going back.
Looking for vegetarian options for our night out. We had a lot of options and what we had was very good. It was a little pricey, but I would go back.
This was the first time eating at Olivio's and it was wonderful...all that I was looking for. Olivio's has generously donated a gift
certificate each year to my chorus, Sharing A New Song, and I have been curious about the restaurant for some time. I loved the
food and ambience and the very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. I will certainly see you again soon.
Very romantic Valentine's Day dinner. The service was impeccable and the food...as always...dliscioso!
The special of the day was fit for a dog. There was nothing special about this place or diinner option at all. Avoid!!!!!
Food is very good. The restaurant was quite full with several large groups and therefore quite noisy. It was hard to carry on a conversation. The service was excellent with a very attentive waitstaff.
Prices a little high but the food was good and also big portions. Very quiet as there were only 2 other tables with people.
The service was really slow. The food was good. The atmosphere was average. I like Flora across the street from Olivio's better.
I've been going to Ristorante Olivio for probably 10+ years. They really raised their game when they expanded. Food quality and selection is excellent now and it remains my go-to spot for a spontaneous need for something a little nicer. Staff is friendly and it has never been a problem to accommodate my now 2 year old or a large party. I have family that insist we go there when they come to visit.
