We each had a glass of wine - Chianti and Sauvignon Blanc - both tasty. We shared the grilled octopus and vegetable bake. We have had this in the past and was excellent before which is why we ordered them. However neither was quite as good as before , but still very good. We also split the tiramisu and decaf coffee - both exceptional. Not a lot of places do excellent decaf so we were very pleased.
First visit here-party of three. We were greeted cordially on arrival and seated at a small round table that seemed too small for our party of three. The table bordered on the path to another dining room and was quite close to the bar. As result we were situated in the middle of lots of activity, traffic, and noise, making conversation difficult. A couple of times, the staff bumped into my chair while moving to the back dining area or the bar.
After a lengthy wait, we were finally approached for our drink orders. Drinks were delivered some five minutes later. When I asked to order appetizers, it seemed to surprise the waiter. The bruschetta and calamari were tasty and well presented. I ordered a pasta dish, my wife, a salad, and my friend, a chicken dish. All were delivered in a timely manner, were attractive in appearance, and seemed properly prepared. The food was tasty, but not exactly memorable. For dessert, we had coffee and chocolate cake that seemed dry and heavy.
Overall, I had higher hopes for this place. I doubt I'll be back.
Murali's is our go-to place when we are meeting friends from out of town It just want a good meal. It is convenient to get to, lots of parking, consistently good food, and great service from Maher, my favorite server. He makes you feel special. There are lots of choices at Pentagon Row, but only one good Italian restaurant.
Took my spouse on a date to this neighborhood gem in Pentagon Row, Arlington. We had the linguine with clams which was very tasty. We also had the jumbo shrimp with Spinach sautéed in white wine and garlic. Both meals were very delicious. Service was very welcoming/friendly. The service was well paced- the server was always around when needed but not too often. The restaurant has great outdoor sitting.
Caesar salad was good but skimpy on portion size.
Entree came out very quickly and felt rushed, even though restaurant was not very busy.
Where do I begin.....I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium well..... Needless to say I was served a piece of roast that no where near looked like what I ordered. They folded a piece of steak in half and cooked it well and served it to me. (WRONG)!!!!
My friend ordered the Crab Ravioli.... It tasted as if it was straight out of the freezer! On top of that it was no crab no where in sight!
As I told the waiter, he caught an attitude like I was this crazy person! I asked for the check and asked him why is there a gratuity charge? He told me because it's food and brushed us off staying" I have other customers" .
I was so embarrassed!!!!!
He was rude and very unprofessional about every thing!!! I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!
IT WAS SO BAD I WILL POST THIS ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA THAT'S AVAILABLE!!!
Oh I tried calling the owner/boss with no luck. He was out of town until the 16th, which is yesterdayday. I left my number and name!
Disappointing average. Had the special prosciutto bruschetta. The prosciutto appeared to have been cooked!?! Weird. Entrees included chicken marsala and pumpkin ravioli. Both were fine. Not good, just okay. Highlight was the waiter. Super nice and very attentive. We don't need to return.
The restaurant was dead. Th food was great: we had the ravioli portobello and the lasagne. But service was slow and inattentive.
Restaurant was closed
