We each had a glass of wine - Chianti and Sauvignon Blanc - both tasty. We shared the grilled octopus and vegetable bake. We have had this in the past and was excellent before which is why we ordered them. However neither was quite as good as before , but still very good. We also split the tiramisu and decaf coffee - both exceptional. Not a lot of places do excellent decaf so we were very pleased.
First visit here-party of three. We were greeted cordially on arrival and seated at a small round table that seemed too small for our party of three. The table bordered on the path to another dining room and was quite close to the bar. As result we were situated in the middle of lots of activity, traffic, and noise, making conversation difficult. A couple of times, the staff bumped into my chair while moving to the back dining area or the bar.
After a lengthy wait, we were finally approached for our drink orders. Drinks were delivered some five minutes later. When I asked to order appetizers, it seemed to surprise the waiter. The bruschetta and calamari were tasty and well presented. I ordered a pasta dish, my wife, a salad, and my friend, a chicken dish. All were delivered in a timely manner, were attractive in appearance, and seemed properly prepared. The food was tasty, but not exactly memorable. For dessert, we had coffee and chocolate cake that seemed dry and heavy.
Overall, I had higher hopes for this place. I doubt I'll be back.
Murali's is our go-to place when we are meeting friends from out of town It just want a good meal. It is convenient to get to, lots of parking, consistently good food, and great service from Maher, my favorite server. He makes you feel special. There are lots of choices at Pentagon Row, but only one good Italian restaurant.
Took my spouse on a date to this neighborhood gem in Pentagon Row, Arlington. We had the linguine with clams which was very tasty. We also had the jumbo shrimp with Spinach sautéed in white wine and garlic. Both meals were very delicious. Service was very welcoming/friendly. The service was well paced- the server was always around when needed but not too often. The restaurant has great outdoor sitting.
Caesar salad was good but skimpy on portion size.
Entree came out very quickly and felt rushed, even though restaurant was not very busy.
Where do I begin.....I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium well..... Needless to say I was served a piece of roast that no where near looked like what I ordered. They folded a piece of steak in half and cooked it well and served it to me. (WRONG)!!!!
My friend ordered the Crab Ravioli.... It tasted as if it was straight out of the freezer! On top of that it was no crab no where in sight!
As I told the waiter, he caught an attitude like I was this crazy person! I asked for the check and asked him why is there a gratuity charge? He told me because it's food and brushed us off staying" I have other customers" .
I was so embarrassed!!!!!
He was rude and very unprofessional about every thing!!! I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!
IT WAS SO BAD I WILL POST THIS ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA THAT'S AVAILABLE!!!
Oh I tried calling the owner/boss with no luck. He was out of town until the 16th, which is yesterdayday. I left my number and name!
Disappointing average. Had the special prosciutto bruschetta. The prosciutto appeared to have been cooked!?! Weird. Entrees included chicken marsala and pumpkin ravioli. Both were fine. Not good, just okay. Highlight was the waiter. Super nice and very attentive. We don't need to return.
The restaurant was dead. Th food was great: we had the ravioli portobello and the lasagne. But service was slow and inattentive.
Restaurant was closed
Murali's is our go-to place to meet friends or when we want good Italian food and great service from the staff.
As always, the service was top notch, the food a pleasure to the senses and stomach. The variety of the wine list and off the list is enough to make any foodie happy.
The restaurant needs updating. The couches were in bad shape and smelled old. The service was good and decent food.
Service was offer the top. Food was fantastic. Great Pentagon City gem.
Murali's is one of my favorite restaurants to meet friends because it is off a metro and the food is good and the noise level low. This visit, there were two very large groups in both dining rooms and my friends and I had normal level conversation. One friend had the Crabmeat Ravioli and commented how delicious the vodka cream sauce was. I almost always get the Portabello ravioli because it is usually so good. This time either my taste buds were off or the dish was. Don't get me wrong, it was still good, just didn't seem to have the umami taste I look forward to. I admit to one puzzle every visit. Except for one server (who is also GREAT at his job), neither the manager nor other staff show any recognition that I'm a returning customer. I'm not detered, however, and will return soon.
Slow service ... We had a group of 7 people... And check was split evenly but we are very unsure if the Resturant split it correctly without adding a surcharge... I never got a refill on my soda (asked twice) and it was a THUR night -- not that crowded ... Will not repeat.
They had a private party in the back but almost no one in the front due to the note on the door that said closed for private party. We had a reservation. The waiter was very nice and courteous. He explained the specials and was very astute to our needs. The food was very good as were the desserts.
Perfect spot for a pre-race meal! The pasta offerings were right on point for our teams needs the night before RNR Washington! Also we were able to ice skate after dinner seeing as the skating rink is located in front of the restaurant. I had the Gorgonzola Penne pasta with chicken and it far exceeded my expectations! Yum.
We have been to this restaurant over the years many times. It is always consistent and always a pleasure. Friendly efficient staff and delicious food. We had the grilled squid appetizer (love the touch of fennel!) and veal and portobello ravioli in tomato sauce. All well prepared. It was fun watching the ice skaters outside the window too.
My server charged my credit card twice which resulted in problem with my bank and my card declining and her and the manager did nothing to really help the situation which I was not pleased about at all. The food was great but because of service, I would probably not come back here.
Excellent service and good wine recommendation. Food was not great. We had Veal Picatta which was the recommended special for the evening. The veal was actually tough and looked more like boiled meat than fried. The sauce was thin with little flavor and the very few (four on my plate) capers didnt add much. We also had Calimari which was was oversalted and rubbery. So while the service and atmosphere made for a nice time with friends the food was too sub par to warrant a return visit.
Waiter was very nice and we had an enjoyable evening
Best Italian food in Arlington. Easy parking. Very accomodating.
The restaurant was a little difficult in finding along with others in the square if its your first time. We were expecting a wait so we made reservations. Upon arriving we were seated immediately. The atmosphere service aroma of the foods and the taste of the food was amazing. I felt like i was in Italy. The beverage refills were prompt and the service of food came out in perfect timing. I had the crabmeat ravioli. Something to die for. Everything was fresh and hot. There are a list of other options i will be back for! Great Job!
We went for lunch and were really pleased. For some reason though the place was empty aside from us, such a shame, hope others know how great this is!
Murali's is our go to restaurant. We have never been disappointed. The bread is delicious and you have to be careful that you don't eat too much before the meal comes. Food is always very tasty and nicely presented. Service is efficient and friendly. Always happy when Emil is there!
worth the travel... well worth the value - a great alternative to the other more casual and/or sports restaurants in the complex
Excellent as always. Our go-to for special occasions. More locals need to discover this gem.
Very nice place, good italian food and accesible, close to metro, mall, other bars and coffee shops. During winter season, it's jus a in forn of the ice-skate and xmas deco so it has a very nice view.
We dined on a Sunday night in a mostly empty restaurant which had a minimal staff who seemed rushed the whole night (but not to our faces - they were great). There was a long wait between sitting and getting a beverage. The food was nice, although the meal arrived minutes after our appetizer. We'd give them a second try.
I arrived 10 minutes before my reservation and was told that they were closed. I'm not sure exactly why I was able to make a reservation after the restaurant was closed or if the restaurant decided to close early, either way I was unable to dine there because I was told they were closed.
Decent bar, great wait service, average food no WOW factor
Excellent dinnerwe went there for the grilled Calamari, can't get anything like it anywhere and my date loves it ! Owner came over to chat with us about it. Had an excellent shrimp linguini dinner with some wonderful Chianti. We'll be back again soon !
Friendly, efficient servers.
My friend and his daughter ate with me after choosing an Italian place in Pentagon Row. The food was very good and the service was great, we had a chance to visit with the owner quite a bit during a slow week day. All the dishes were fresh and hot. Recommend for business and family dinner. Good value also.
Excellent meal and service! Would go back again!
Nice Italian restaurant in Pentagon Row. A great place for a relaxing dinner after a long day of Washington D.C. sightseeing.
Never, ever have we had a problem. Was glad to see restaurant busy .. not enough people know about this neighborhood gem.
Murali's has been our go-to spot for years when we are meeting friends or in the Pentagon City area. We can always count on tasty food, excellent service from one particular waiter, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is definitely a gem.
Food is great, good prices.
Nice and quiet.
