Good meal. Small local restaurant. Bring your own wine.
Nice local Italian restaurant with good food and large portions. Marcello's needs to put up a visible sign. We were unfamiliar with the area and drove into the strip center where it's located. It was at the far end. Since it was dark and raining, we had to be right in front of it to see the name.
Daughter up visiting, was her mom's favorite restaurant, so we invited my girlfriend and her daughter to join us, along with my 11-month-old grandson. Food, as always, was terrific, and service was very attentive.
The food is always top notch and the staff is attentive and friendly.
There ere actually 5 plus an infant. All in all pretty good; we had to ask for peppers, and only 1 bowl of rolls for all of us. Basically food and service were very good.
Always a great meal at Marcello's. This is our favorite spot to celebrate a birthday. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean and casual. The wait staff is friend and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend giving Marcello's a try.
Restaurant was freezing, they were out of multiple food items, small portions, food wasn't that good, when asked for a refill of hot tea the server refilled the mug with ice cold water and we had to wait forever for our food. A table of 4 for lunch during the week should not take an hour & 45 minutes, Esperanza when we were the only people in the place. I have eaten there numerous times in the past but after this experience I will never be back. I do have to say, the server was friendly but was either filling in, first time waitressing or had NO idea what she was doing.
Dining room run down and unheated in the middle of winter. Food very nice.
Everything was delicious! We will definitely come again.
Not impressed - won't go back - been there done that.
We were pleasantly surprised with this little hidden gem! The pizza was so fresh and tasty. It was cooked lightly and not burnt in the slightest bit. The buffalo chicken fries were also outstanding.
No one was in the restaurant when we arrived. We could pick our table but had to look around because the first two were dirty. Could have made better food at home. Whole place could be cleaner. Ever watch "Restaurant Impossible"? Then you have an idea of what to expect.
Everything homemade from the bread to deserts. The service personable and friendly. They even gave us a t-shirt. Don't be deterred by the strip mall location. A hidden gem. Will definitely go back when we're in town.
I made last minute Mother's Day reservation at Marcello's for myself, my wife and our four young children. As the restaurant is located in strip mall, and is a pizza shop / restaurant, I was a little leery. My opinion quickly changed. We were greeted and seated right away by a friendly server. Our server came to our table immediately, and was very pleasant. She was also very attentive throughout our meal; especially to our children.
The food is definitely not what you would expect from a pizza shop. They serve all of the usual pizza shop fare, however, they also have an extensive menu of Italian specialties, as well as some unique dishes. All of our dishes were very well prepared, and comparable to what you would expect from a higher end restaurant.
The ambiance is not bad, however it is a little dated. The dining room is small, so I'm not sure if there is a wait during peak times.
Overall, we had a great meal at Marcello's, and will definitely be back.
By the way, the fresh rolls and complimentary roasted peppers are delicious!!
The excellent lunch specials are a great value and they can do all of their dinner entrees at a half priced lunch portion (which is still generous and won't leave you hungry!). The cooks are phenomenal. I would consider them chefs rather than cooks in a local italian restaurant and pizza shop. They use locally grown seasonal vegetables in their specials and have created some amazing seasonal dishes. The locally grown vegetables come from a farm that you can almost see from their front door! It makes for a fantastic place to have lunch, or any meal, and you will find me there often!
Having been here at least 30 or more times, consistency should be their motto, as food and service are.
Fantastic hidden gem! Had a fantastic New Years Eve dinner there and it was great. Great people and great food. The menu is huge and hand made.
Average pizza shop restaurant. Nothing special. Nothing spectacular. Most likely will not be coming back.
We have been here numerous times. the food is always good. you get rolls, peppers, soup & salad with the meal so there is plenty to eat and it is a BYOB.
We have been to Marcello's three times in the past three weeks. Family owned and operated with friendly service. Menu offers some creative choices for Italian food. Don't pass up because the restaurant is somewhat hidden in a strip mall. The decor in the interior is very warm and promotes a intimate atmosphere.
Everything we ordered was delicious, perfectly spiced, not too salty like in many restaurants. Seafood perfectly cooked (Seafood fra diavolo, pesto seafood, calamari). Huge portions, so we would encourage sharing family-style. You will have no room for dessert! Cute little restaurant. Kids did not order from kids menu but enjoyed the regular entrees as well. My only complaint is the type of greens in their salad (prefer spring mix but it was mostly romaine). Side salad and buffalo chicken salad were still delicious though.
The food here went downhill a little awhile ago, but for the last year or so, it has been back to the Very Good stature. We have not been disappointed.
The pizza looked great, but I tried their restaurant menu. Improvement is needed!
Willing servers but the food missed the spot. I was anticipating a great local Italian restaurant, but found the preparation to miss the mark. Given the wealth of wonderful Italian restaurants in the Philadelphia area, my next venture will be to a different independent, or to a a chain like Bertucci's. :-(
We were attracted to Marcello's by the gluten free pizza. The staff is great, but I noticed a partially eaten pizza crust under my chair when we were sat, and almost every page of the menu were stuck together. The espresso is from a prepackaged pod similar to a K-cup and was under flavored. The Italian Hawaiian pizza was pretty good, but the gluten free pizza crust seemed like it came premade, possibly frozen. The best part was the service. Our waitress was attentive and the highlight of the night. We weren't aware that Marcello's is a byob. Overall the experience wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out as exceptional either.
Food and service were awesome.....BUT......extremely hot in there, maybe an airconditioning problem . Actually very uncomfortable : (
My family and I visit this restaurant on a regular basis. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious. Huge variety to choose from. Prices reasonable. Definitely will be be back again and again.
This was our first visit to Marcello's and, overall, we were happy. We thought the service was very good. The waitress was very attentive. My husband ordered a seafood and pasta dish that he was not thrilled with, but my gnocchi was very good and my daughter's fettuccine alfredo was excellent. The bring a variety of warm rolls out first and the dinners came with either soup or salad. Both my husband and I got soup and we both thought it needed more salt. This is coming from someone who never salts their food! We ordered a "s'mores sweetie pie" for dessert, which was a little too sweet for my taste, but my husband loved it. We will definitely visit again!
