As always, the most authentic Italian food in Denver. This place is a true gem
Pasta with clams dish seemed expensive for the few clams that came with it.
Always dependable for authentic, excellant, Italian fare!
This place is great. The food is outstanding and the servers were very nice. I'll be going back often.
Wonderful and Leo head waiter is awesome
Lo Stella is our usual stop on the nights we go to Curious Theatre; that is until Covid interrupted our routine. It was nice to be back. A few changes since we were last there, but it's still an excellent choice for "date night" before a play. Since forever I've ordered their wonderful "Nonna Laura," but this time I tried something new: chicken saltimbocca with steamed spinach. Not surprisingly, it too was delicious. My wife ordered bistecca with mushrooms, which she said she'd order again in a second. We washed it all down with a very nice Barbera. All in all, a fine meal, friendly and helpful waitstaff, nice ambiance - just like old times. It's good to be back!
Beautiful food, cooked to perfection.
The home made mozzarella was out of this world
Just a fantastic intimate restaurant. From the second you walk in you feel welcome. The wait staff are professional without pretension. The food was creative twists on some fairly standard dishes, but that synergy was magic.
The quality of service and food is still amazing! Just wish the lighting was a little dimmer. Was too bright.
The waiter was excellent. Apparently the Rolling Stones ate there in 2020. I would highly recommend Mick Jagger’s favorite dish
One of our very favorite places!
Meh … limited menu and many better authentic italian options
Food was just ok. Food was a little on the bland side. My steak was cooked perfect , just had no type of seasoning on it. My wife’s pasta was ok, but nothing special.
Overall a good experience. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Bolognese is fantastic. Insalata tricolore too. It’s nice to see them busy again—they deserve it!
Charming and intimate neighborhood place with great food and service.
We were so glad to have Lo Stella come back strong after it was closed during the height of the pandemic! My mom lives in the Golden Triangle so this is one of our go to restaurants. Although their prices have gone up considerably, the food is still outstanding. We love that they serve bread when you sit down. Not many restaurants do this anymore. We started with the Tricolor salad which is so yummy with warm sautéed mushrooms which softens the Parmesan cheese. I had the spaghetti and clams. This dish is loaded with fresh clams and pasta. It was a little salty, but I was able to tame it with some lemon juice. My mom had the Taglierini with shrimp and zucchini. Rumor has it that Mick Jagger dined here before one of the Stones’ concerts and this was his favorite dish. My mom loves it as well. The service at Lo Stella is fantastic. It was a nice relaxing pace and the owner and servers are super friendly. My parents were frequent diners here when my dad was alive, and even though we hadn’t been here since before the pandemic the owner recognized my mom and came over to say hello. We love having this restaurant in the neighborhood and will definitely be back!
wonderful restaurant... True Italian. Staff is excellent
Good food and wine. Pleasant staff. On our list of places to return to every month or two.
Lo Stella never disappoints! Great food and superior service. Taking friends there is always a treat because they are always "wowed"
Excellent authentic Italian! Highly recommend!
Intimate setting, authentic Italian food. We will be back!
Meh food. Meh server. Much left to be desired… a disappointing experience
The food was excellent as always, their sauces really make the meal. The service was great, the waiter took the time to explain the sourcing of some of the dishes. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was excellent.
Always a wonderful experience here...food was wonderful and service was superior. Leonardo was a joy! We will certainly return. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We were at the Portofino restaurant 3 years ago and loved it. We were visiting family in Denver and had to go to the Denver restaurant, it did not disappoint!
Great little italian spot! My husband and I went with some friends and sat in front of the kitchen window and the big parmesan wheel. It was so fun being able to watch all the action. The Gemelli pasta in the parm wheel is a must have! I hope to back soon.
If you like salt…….lots of salt you will like this restaurant. Otherwise do your heart a favor and eat somewhere else.
We sat at the hi top table near the door; great seats in the house- away from the bustle of the kitchen and near the cozy rock wall. Great ambiance!
The menu and quality of food at Lo Stella still hasn't quite revived back to its pre-COVID shutdown standard but it's getting there.
Fabulous food and impeccable service, actually felt like we were in Italy! Clams and Spaghetti was amazing.
It always feels like a special occasion at Lo Stella! Fabulous food, atmosphere and service. The staff always make you feel like you are the most important guest in the room!
Every course and dish were very good, and we are discerning! Our waiter made a great recommendation on the wine. Nice ambience in a smaller, quaint restaurant with quality service and food.
The food, restaurant and staff never disappoint...
So happy to get to Lo Stella again. We haven't been there since Covid started because we usually combine a dinner at Lo Stella with a performance at Curious Theatre. Some things have changed since our last visit, but the menu and food quality has remained the same: Outstanding! We started with an excellent Prosciutto di Parma both were delicious. Our wine choices (Valpolicella & Tascante) were reasonably priced and matched the entries well. No time for dessert. We had not met Brian, our server, before, but he took excellent care of us - very friendly and helpful. We look forward to getting back to normal.
On a Saturday night they ran out of their salmon entrees! Two at our table ordered the dish after seeing 2 come out only to be told they are out at 630! Disappointing
We've been to Lo Stella a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food and drink are excellent. We split a Caprese salad, which was just right for two. I had the taglierini with shrimps and zucchini in a saffron sauce, she had the chicken scaloppina in marsala sauce topped with prosciutto crudo and fontina cheese. Both were great. Best of all, though, was the panna cotta for dessert. It was light, creamy, with perfect berry sauce over the top.
This is my go-to restaurant when I'm going to Curious theatre. Very warm, bustling and inviting place. My friend and I split the trout and pasta with Monk Fish. The trout was out of this world; the pasta dish was good but not as good as Lo Stella's Family recipe for Fish Ravioli. Only one complaint: our drinks were skimpy. Maybe, three sips, max.
Delicious homemade pastas, great atmosphere and wonderful service. I wish I lived next door.
