Great food, ambience and service. Genuine food served by a family with a restaurant in Italy.
The best Italian Restaurant I have ever been in Denver for sure. But for Sure you need to know what Real Italian food is! I go almost every month!
Diffident, stand offish server who refused to customize anything and who delivered one entree which was not initially cooked properly, after everyone else at the table had finished. Barely apologized and didn’t comp anything, not the meal, not dessert, not even coffee. Good customer service is everything. Doesn’t matter how good the food is.
This place is legit, authentic, Italian food. You will not be disappointed by their homemade pasta, their extensive wine-list, or their charming atmosphere. I have never had a bad interaction with the wait staff here - they are so good to their customers. Plus, their portion-sizes are ideal - you leave feeling "perfectly full," without any excess weight or heaviness, even though pasta can sometimes make people feel that way. 10/10 recommend this place.
Kind of loud. Food was ok, but left hungry. Not sure I’d go back given there’s so many other dining choices.
Dining after the Denver Art Museum. First visit. Really excellent. Great neighborhood restaurant. Excellent food. Wine by the glass was excellent. Attentive service. Recently became members of the Art Museum and Lo Stella will become a regular stop after special shows.
I love this Ristorante. With my family being from Italia Ristorante Lo Stella It is a close to ethnic Italian food that you are going to find in Denver. The owner and waitstaff are extremely friendly.
After two visits to Ristorante Lo Stella the experience has been great. Really love the atmosphere. They have a very good variety of menu choices, a good wine sellecton and very good service. A family owned pride is very evident. Happy to recommend it to my family and friends.
Disappointing. The pasta was slightly undercooked, for my taste. Rather than asking how would I like it cooked, they told me it was the way it was supposed to be and replaced it with an identical replacement. The service was inattentive. Servers left chairs in the middle of aisles, with others just walking around them rather than placing them where they should be.
The pesto was excellent, as was the tiramisu.
Sorry, but nothing impressive at all. Setting is way to plain for the price point, and we are used to eating on expense accounts so money is not the object here. And the food was not "notable;" service met minimum requirements, but can't say it was out of this world. Sorry, but when compared to Panzano's, Barolo's, Osteria Marco... Lo Stella is not up to par... Sorry to say so....
Lo Stella has authentic Italian food. My husband had the bolognese , and it was delicious. Everything including pasta and desserts are homemade. Definitely worth a visit, for real Italian food!!
If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant with good food, look no more - Lo Stella fits the bill ! This restaurant in the Golden Triangle neighborhood is just the right size . It has a lively vibe as the restaurant fills up with the dinner crowd, yet it remains cozy and warm, so the guests can enjoy the conversations at their own table. The wait staff is efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant, and very helpful in describing a menu item or recommending a particular wine. In addition to the nightly specials or the seasonal offerings, there are a few signature dishes which remain on the menu. I would recommend making a reservation If you plan to go there on a particular evening.
Nice vibe to an well established Italian eatery in the heart of downtown. Good selection of appetizers and main courses. All of which were very well prepared and ample portions. Service was great. We went on a Saturday night and there was a good sized crowd but not noisy. There is a cute bar that is likely a great meeting location for locals and you can eat at the bar. An older building gives is a cozy and classic feel. We'd go again for sure.
Lo Stella is our absolute favorite Italian restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is the BEST. This is our go to place for every special occasion and we couldn't love it more. The staff really make it special - Fabrizio, Leo, and Virginia just to name a few - are generous and so accommodating. I only wish I could rate it more than 5 stars in every category!
Phenomenal service with food to match!! The gentleman that initially took care of us really made us feel welcome (older Italian gentleman)!
Our second experience at Lo Stella.
first time was fabulous which is why we returned. Second time -- not so hot. 3 of us ordered (among other things) the Napoli Pizza and all reported it was mediocre with almost no taste! I ordered the monkfish on artichoke ravioli -- it was OK, but rather dry (no sauce). Not the excellence we'd expected due to previous visit.
HOWEVER, the mussels and the tricolore salad were excellent. I hope the other 2 dishes were just a one-time mistake but it shouldn't happen on a Saturday night....
Yes, we'll give it one more try..... we definitely want to support the really fine locally owned places so I hope this was a one-time disappointment.
Really enjoyed our evening out at this restaurant after going to art galleries in the Golden Triangle. That said, our food was served lukewarm - though very good - and the service staff seemed overwhelmed and behind on things all during our experience.
Very expensive for tiny entrees. The de mare app was very fishy and the mussels were Grundy- bad seafood. The service was slow but the service was apologetic about it.
Lo Stella is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant in the Golden Triangle and Museum district, and it never disappoints me. The restaurant is warm and cozy, and it is my first choice to take friends and out of town guests. The food is delicious, and the service is impeccable. The owners greet you as a friend, describe the nightly specials, and offer good recommendations for your preferences. I have enjoyed many delicious entrees there, but my favorite meal is the homemade tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce and the lemon tart as dessert. Whatever you have, you must end your meal with a glass of limocello !
Amazing as always! Thank you Chef Luca to stop by our table and say Hi.
Its our 4th time and its constantly at the top of our expectations.
Food classical and very good. Service very acceptable but on the slow side, seemed somewhat understaffed. Also seemed somewhat overpriced. Again, acceptable but overpriced. Might take guests there, might not go there for a simple weeknight dinner again. Best thing is it's relatively quiet so one can talk with one's guests or friends. That's a huge plus.
Finally Denver has a great Italian restaurant that's authentic, extremely well prepared and served by a team of flawless and friendly professionals: I will be back many times!
Excellent and authentic Italian food, presented with passion, fun, and caring service by an Italian family.
Incredible! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
Most delicious Italian themed, after museum dinner.
Incredibly delicious food all around. They have a message on the front door that you're food will probably take a while because that's what it takes to do it right. The food did take a while and was awesomely yummy.
This is our neighborhood go-to. Very accommodating family ownership, excellent service, and wonderful nightly specials. Quite Italian to say the least.
A hidden gem! Authentic Italian food, house made pasta, excellent prosciutto and burrata. A welcoming, warm ambiance. So great to find a restaurant with good food, generous portions, and not at all cute or trendy.
Great food and great service!
Great experience! Food, ambience and service couldn’t have been better.
Our first time here. Seems like a very authentic Italian restaurant. Very cozy. Loved it. Will return.
Loved it. We were welcomed with buona sera upon arrival and it was obvious we were welcomed guests. Food was perfect. I will gladly return.
Nice atmosphere good food great service.
Cleanliness of the restaurant was great, very friendly staff our server Virginia, was attentive but not annoying coffee and authentic fresh made deserts were the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. A great find will definitely eat here again!!
My wife and I eat here a lot. It's around the corner so we walk there, we just love the owner Fabrizio and all his staff - Leo and Virginia are the best!
The food is fantastic the bolognese is da bomb we always leave happy and with leftovers.
Sensational food, wine and service. A real gem with quaint atmosphere.
Wonderful in all aspects. We drove in from Boulder and it was better than our local choices i.e. worth the trip.
This was an awesome restaurant! The first impression when greeted at the door set the stage for the night. It was wonderful. Customer service was excellent, food was out of this world and we will definitely recommend this new-found Italian restaurant!! Thank you for a memorable evening.
Quiet little place near cap hill. Our waiter made a really good wine recommendation and answered all our questions about the menu.
Three of us got pasta- all of which had great sauce and pasta was fresh. My mom got the baked trout which looked really good and smelled even better.
Very authentic Italian. Pesto and homemade pasta excellent. Sauces were rich but subtle. Arugula salad with warm mushrooms was delicious. Still dreaming about that salad.
