Leo is amazing staff so friendly, best Northern Italian in CO
This is one of the best restaurants in Denver. The food is delicious, but beyond that is really the service. The management and staff always make you feel like a VIP and like you’re family. They are perfect! I highly suggest the fish ravioli!
This is absolutely my favorite spot in town The food is absolutely wonderful, freshly and professionally prepared every day. The staff makes you feel like family and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. We eat as much as possible and always bring people from out of town here. It’s just like being in Italy
Great food at a great location. I am a former waitress. The waitress we had was condescending, abrupt and borderline rude.
I absolutely love this restaurant, the ambience, the stuff treats you like family!! The food is muy delicioso!!! Can’t wait to come back!
The restaurant was very pleasant but the food was just OK. We had eaten there once before and I think the food was better that time. Portion size is on the smallish side prices on the moderate to higher side. Not terrible but not memorable either.
Bellissima esperienza allo Stella! Cibo delizioso e servizio impeccabile! Ci rivedremo presto
The pesto gnocchi is absolutely delicious, the best I've ever had. The charcuterie plate is enough for four to nibble on, though 2 hungry people did just fine cleaning it off! A gem hidden in plain view.
We did not intend to have a dinner ‘la familia’-style, but our server, Fabrizio, suggested it and went on to deliver a superb and memorable evening.
Nice place for a date night . Cozy and not too noisy. We had a lovely server who was attentive and warm. We shared a great tricolor salad , octopus potato appetizer (ok) and the gnocchi pesto which was delicious. I would go back to try other dishes. The wine by the glass was affordable and tasty . No room for dessert . We did make a reservation and requested a quiet spot .
This is our favorite neighborhood place. Fabrizio is so welcoming. The tricolore salad with mushrooms is fantastic. Then there is the tagliatelle Bolognese…hard to describe how (consistently) delectable it is. Add a glass of Negroamaro and you will be in heaven. We’ve eaten at a lot of Michelin three-star restaurants but we keep coming back to Lo Stella and our meals here are just as satisfying.
We've dined at Lo Stella on a couple occasions before attending performances at Curious Theatre, so we get there early before it gets busy. I'd guess that you would need to have a reservation if you plan to go there after 6:00 pm or so. We've never been disappointed with any aspect of our meals: the food is authentic Italian, service has always been excellent and wine choices, while limited, are reasonably priced for a decent pour. On this visit, we started with an excellent Caprese, our mains were the Ravioli Special (for my wife, who thought it was excellent) and Saltimbocca alla Romana (for me and it was quite good). We washed everything down with a Monchiero Nebbiolo, which was excellent and matched the food well. We had time for desert, so we ordered the Strawberry Crostata, which was okay, but not up to the delicious lemon something-or-other (?), that we've had on previous visits. We highly recommend Lo Stella to anyone seeking an authentic and tasty Italian meal, in pleasant surroundings, with attentive waitstaff, and all at a reasonable price.
We arrived for a 6 PM reservation and had theater tickets across the street at 7:30 and informed the server of this. At 7:20, our meal had still not yet been served and we had to leave without eating. This, despite the fact that when we arrived at the restaurant, there were just a half dozen tables seated. People seated after us were enjoying their meal when we walked out. Management was not apologetic nor did they offer any discounts on our beverages. They explained that “fillets take 20 minutes to cook.” However, we ordered a rare steak and we were there for an hour and 20 minutes and still had not received a dinner. We won’t be back.
Really great experience. Excellent food and service. We go there often so would like to see them change up their menu a little. They do however have specials available that do address this concern.
Best and most authentic italian restaurant in Denver guaranteed. They can keep up with all the famous Italian restaurants in NYC too.
Menu selection not that great, not such a great romantic dinner place
with young children families present.
We love this place. Low key. Authentic. Friendly. Small. Good wine and food. Great value.
Great food, great service; a must have experience!!!
We had an awesome experience at Lo Stella. The waiter was from Italy, was so attentive but not too obtrusive and made the experience top notch. What a great restaurant. We will be back.
Service was OK but one pasta dish was not good and other was delicious so I would say food is inconsistent.
Had son and Future Daughter in law engagement dinner it was awesome
My nephew and I dined with you Saturday evening. My family has also been to Lo Stella many times. Every time I walk in, it's like walking into my grandma's home. I love your restaurant. Keep it up guys.

Limited menue, but what was ordered was excellent. Service was excellent.
The food and service at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and the food was just like when I used to live in Italy. Buonissimo!
We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, our waiter was attentive, humorous and charming. The food was excellent and there were veggie options available. We will certainly return.
Hands down the best italian in Denver. Amazing service and food. Just like in Italy
Only complaint is that there was no pesto gnocchi :(
We will most certainly be back. The service and food quality cannot be beaten
Great atmosphere for a date night out. One of our dishes was great, but the walnut ravioli was very bland—couldn’t hardly eat it. Will definitely order differently if I ever return.
Reservation was lost, restaurant was out of multiple items by 7pm. The restaurant did comp a few after dinner drinks after we were told the ordered drinks and desert were no longer available.
Wished for a wonderful dining experience for Valentines Day and my wish was granted. Food/drinks were excellent and our waiter was charming and very helpful. Loved the ambiance and will visit again.
Very nice service and good food. One of our favorites.
What a charming wonderful place to go! Ugh I hate that I live in colorado springs I would be here all the time!!!!! Great history. 8th generation family. The know the business. Food, wine and ambience! Have something special to celebrate this Is your place!
Locally owned Italian restaurant. Wines by the glass are reasonably priced. We ordered the veal and daily special tagliatelle with octopus--the best ever!!! Service was great--Leonardo! Best tiramisu. LOVE this place. Such a gem.
Lo Stella never disappoints. They use the freshest ingredients which makes the salads exceptionally flavorful; the Insalata Tricolore is our favorite. Both of our pasta entrees were delicious: homemade tagliatelle and linguini with clams. Our waitress, Shay, was very friendly and attentive. Knowing we were on our way to the theater and had limited time, she nicely paced the timing between courses.
Great food and service. Good wine recommendations.
We love Lo Stella! Fabrizio and the rest always take good care of us. The food is excellent.
The evening started great being our first time in town and was excited for a nicer meal. Our server seemed to lose interest in us rather quickly however after being served and had to ask another waiter for the check. I watched as our waiter hung out by the bar talking to other customers and staff and even had a sip of wine. Being out of town and staying downtown I wouldn’t recommend this place. Plenty of other less expensive options give you so much more of an experience.
Not impressed at all. The caprese was disappointing. Nowhere near enough basil. And the tomatoes were cut way too thin. The mozzarella though was very good. Why not Troy I had a pizza. I had the mozzarella basil and cheese pizza. Again nowhere near enough basil, the sauce was bland. No fresh tomato taste at all. And I had two slices they didn’t have any mozzarella on it at all. Pizza was also way to thin and soggy.
We're season ticket holders at Curious Theatre and the restaurant choices near there are few and far between. Fortunately, we have Ristorante Lo Stella close by and a great choice for authentic, reasonably-priced Italian dining. I'm in a rut; I always order the Tagliatelle Bolognese and have never been disappointed. My wife usually orders seafood or chicken; however, this time she ordered the Lasagna and loved it. Maybe I'll try that next time, but I doubt it. Lo Stella serves an excellent bread, with tasty olive oil and balsamic to start with. We washed it all down with a very nice Nebbiolo; a perfect match for both meals. Service (Fabrizio) was great, so we finished our meals with enough time for desert. We ordered Semifreddo, which was fine, but next time we'll go back to the lemon cake, which is delicious. We both highly recommend Lo Stella to anyone seeking authentic Italian food, served in a very friendly, comfortable atmosphere.
