Very disappointing. I had the chef’s special pappardelle - pasta texture was good and seafood very fresh, but flavour entirely overwhelmed by the sweet sauce whose orange-pink artificial colour was also a turn-off. One of my companions had the fish soup and described it as “very ordinary”. My other companion enjoyed his carbonara. We’d possibly have been more forgiving about the food if the service hadn’t been so appalling. Our waiter was rude, arrogant, ignorant and careless - repeatedly missed things we’d ordered, forgot to bring a spoon for the soup and was rarely in sight - we had to keep asking other waiters for water, cutlery, drinks, check etc. We went elsewhere for dessert.

Good spot if you are going to the Kennedy Center. Main dish portions are smaller in size. The food was just ok, could have a bit more too it. Staff was very nice. The dessert was on point! Had the chocolate mousse cake, very yummy! Valet is available if needed which we did for $6.

We were looking for a nice restaurant in the Georgetown area. Ristorante La Perla had a great menu with plenty of choices for any diner. The staff was very welcoming and we received great advice on the menu and wine choices. Thank you!

Very good dinner with my daughter and college friends only disappointment was the chef not saying hello to our table. He came out twice and skipped our table both times, kind of offended.

Fantastic! Selected a great Italian Baroloa wine that complimented our dining intentions. I started the meal with an amazing bowl of pasta fagioli (beans) soup. Being 100% old world Italian this is the best pasta fagioli I have tasted. I matched that with an exquisite entrée of thinly sliced veal and eggplant, lightly fried in a white wine sauce. Date enjoyed a wonderful branzini filet matched with an exquisite green salad. Dessert we shared an amazing slice of almond cake and espresso. Our waiter was informative and cordial and we are planning returning in the near future. Best Italian dining by Chef Testa in DC!

Our family had a fantastic meal there while we were on vacation!
It was so nice that the chef (? owner) came to the table to speak to us. It made our visit extra special.
We will be back if we ever get to DC again!

We had a lovely corner table for the 6 of us. We all ordered something different and we each felt we’d chosen the best! It was a wonderful evening topped off by a visit from the chef/owner.

This was our first visit to Ristorante La Perla and we will definitely be going back. The menu is very diverse; I thoroughly enjoyed the Scallopina Filletto Di Cinghiale Alla Viennese ( wild boar with a rosemary/lemon/dry vermouth/caper sauce) and my husband's dish was also scrumptuous. He had the Linguine Vittorio which was notable for it's generous serving of lobster and the luscious taste of the lobster seafood stock that it was cooked in. Portions are generous without being overwhelming. The wine selections are also very good- we chose a good Barbera, and finished up with a cannoli and tiramisu. Desserts are also made in-house. The chef made a brief appearance and was charming. A delightful evening with great, classic, well made Italian food.A 10 minute walk to the Kennedy Center.

My husband and I were so happy to get a table for an early dinner before Kennedy Center event. The service was excellent, the chef came out to greet us, and after an amazing meal our server brought us a complimentary Limoncello! I had pasta with lobster, crab, and shrimp in a tomato creme sauce that was not heavy at all. The prices for both meal and wine were very reasonable.

This is one of Washington's gems. The food is consistently fantastic. And it's always nice to have the chef come to your table and ask how the meal was. We are regulars for a reason. Highly recommended.

The most Americanized “Italian” food that one can find. La Perla has a big and very faithful following of older people who don’t care that the food has little in common with the what one would find at the best Italian restaurants in Washington. It’s best selling point is that it is close to Georgetown.

I hope to have a great experience, our table was not ready, the seat us at the bar, we waited for ten minutes de Batman did not attend us, no even a word, I ordered a marinara risotto, the quality of the seafood was good but the risotto was terrible. We supposed to wait for 35 minutes to have the risotto done but we waited almost an hour. I think the restaurant is overrated and the cost is high if we consider the food and service quality

This is by far my new favorite restaurant in DC and specifically in the Georgetown area. They treated us royally and the food was the best Italian I have had since NYC.
They made my son’s birthday celebration SO special !! Service was outstanding as was the food !! So elegant and so delightful !

We were celebrating a special occasion (an anniversary) and the waitress brought us a lovely dessert with a sparkler, which was a surprise! The food was delicious and the wait staff were knowledgeable about the dishes (my husband had a question about the ingredients and our waitress was able to point him in the right direction at once).
Always a pleasure to dine at La Perla

We went to La Perla last night for our first anniversary dinner and we will most definitely be back! Everything from the service to the food and overall just quiet and relaxing atmosphere made this one of the best restaurants we have ever been too! We got to meet Chef Testa and he even gave us a sparkling piece of cake on the house to celebrate our anniversary! We loved it! The paradelle del presidente was so fresh and we walked out feeling full and happy. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary.

We arrived early but we had our seats already reserved. The place has an old fashion-vintage feeling. Decoration and music felt a bit fainted. Waiters were super attentive and kind, their service is the best. Our soups and pastas were really nice, tasty and good size, the desserts were good too but not so much the coffee, we may have had a cup of tea or capuccino... Is a good place to have a good dinner.

Was disappointed with this place. It was my daughter‘s 18th birthday and I felt like we were inconveniencing the waiter by being there. The food was pretty good so that is a plus but I felt like the service was bad and the waiter was grumpy and it was kind of a bummer that that’s where we spent her birthday. There so many other places to go with a more happening vibe and a more friendly Atmosphere. We eat out a lot and this is the place that I would not return to or recommend.
