This was our first visit to Ristorante La Perla and we will definitely be going back. The menu is very diverse; I thoroughly enjoyed the Scallopina Filletto Di Cinghiale Alla Viennese ( wild boar with a rosemary/lemon/dry vermouth/caper sauce) and my husband's dish was also scrumptuous. He had the Linguine Vittorio which was notable for it's generous serving of lobster and the luscious taste of the lobster seafood stock that it was cooked in. Portions are generous without being overwhelming. The wine selections are also very good- we chose a good Barbera, and finished up with a cannoli and tiramisu. Desserts are also made in-house. The chef made a brief appearance and was charming. A delightful evening with great, classic, well made Italian food.A 10 minute walk to the Kennedy Center.

My husband and I were so happy to get a table for an early dinner before Kennedy Center event. The service was excellent, the chef came out to greet us, and after an amazing meal our server brought us a complimentary Limoncello! I had pasta with lobster, crab, and shrimp in a tomato creme sauce that was not heavy at all. The prices for both meal and wine were very reasonable.

The food at La Perla is outstanding and the service is competent. The owner’s pride and attentiveness are evident. Kind of pricy, or we would go more often.

Hadn’t been in a while. Dinner with a friend on Saturday, 11/4, did not let me down. Delicious as always, reasonably-priced bottle of wine, and a visit by the Owner!!!

This is one of Washington's gems. The food is consistently fantastic. And it's always nice to have the chef come to your table and ask how the meal was. We are regulars for a reason. Highly recommended.

The most Americanized “Italian” food that one can find. La Perla has a big and very faithful following of older people who don’t care that the food has little in common with the what one would find at the best Italian restaurants in Washington. It’s best selling point is that it is close to Georgetown.

I hope to have a great experience, our table was not ready, the seat us at the bar, we waited for ten minutes de Batman did not attend us, no even a word, I ordered a marinara risotto, the quality of the seafood was good but the risotto was terrible. We supposed to wait for 35 minutes to have the risotto done but we waited almost an hour. I think the restaurant is overrated and the cost is high if we consider the food and service quality

This is by far my new favorite restaurant in DC and specifically in the Georgetown area. They treated us royally and the food was the best Italian I have had since NYC.
They made my son’s birthday celebration SO special !! Service was outstanding as was the food !! So elegant and so delightful !

We were celebrating a special occasion (an anniversary) and the waitress brought us a lovely dessert with a sparkler, which was a surprise! The food was delicious and the wait staff were knowledgeable about the dishes (my husband had a question about the ingredients and our waitress was able to point him in the right direction at once).
Always a pleasure to dine at La Perla

We went to La Perla last night for our first anniversary dinner and we will most definitely be back! Everything from the service to the food and overall just quiet and relaxing atmosphere made this one of the best restaurants we have ever been too! We got to meet Chef Testa and he even gave us a sparkling piece of cake on the house to celebrate our anniversary! We loved it! The paradelle del presidente was so fresh and we walked out feeling full and happy. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary.

We arrived early but we had our seats already reserved. The place has an old fashion-vintage feeling. Decoration and music felt a bit fainted. Waiters were super attentive and kind, their service is the best. Our soups and pastas were really nice, tasty and good size, the desserts were good too but not so much the coffee, we may have had a cup of tea or capuccino... Is a good place to have a good dinner.

Was disappointed with this place. It was my daughter‘s 18th birthday and I felt like we were inconveniencing the waiter by being there. The food was pretty good so that is a plus but I felt like the service was bad and the waiter was grumpy and it was kind of a bummer that that’s where we spent her birthday. There so many other places to go with a more happening vibe and a more friendly Atmosphere. We eat out a lot and this is the place that I would not return to or recommend.

It took nearly half an hour for someone to come to take our order. At the end, I asked for the check and the waiter gave another table their check and we waited 32 minutes to get ours. The food was great and the ambiance was welcoming but we wasted nearly one hour of our time. For this reason, I won't be coming back.

This is a nice old fashioned restaurant. Still greeted by the chef/owner and made to feel special. The food is good Italian food and the Prosciutto is the best in DC. This is a great place to come when you want to actually have conversation with your guests. We love this place!

Three of four of us thought the food was quite good. The 4th person thought it was average bordering on below average. She had the veal and thought it had been frozen and thawed, was not very visually appealing. Friendly service, including the chef bothering just to pass by the table. It was, however, very, very expensive. Even without wine, the meal was just over $400. Table felt a little crowded when food arrived. On the whole, a pleasant evening. One major complaint: the restaurant needs to provide free parking at those prices!!!!

What an outstanding experience.
Almost immediately upon our arrival, the owner/chef came to our table to welcome us. What a class act.
The Italian sausage, pepper, red sauce over pasta was outstanding. One of our party had rack of venison and said it was the best he had ever eaten. Soft shell crab entree was also outstanding.
Desserts were also a hit.
You should really try this restaurant

My wife and I had the opportunity to try La Perla while in town to drop our son off at Georgetown. What a great neighborhood find! The Caesar salad was excellent and both the seafood lasagna and the regular lasagna were fantastic. We love local restaurants so when the owner /chef Vittoria Testa came by the table personally to see how we enjoyed our dinner. It made our night. This is an authentic, unpretentious Italian restaurant with great food, great service, and reasonable prices. We'll be back.

Attentive service and food was fresh with good flavors. However appetizers were expensive and portion sizes for vegetable/pasta side with entree were very small. Good wine list of reasonably priced mostly Italian and American options with a couple of Australian whites and reds. Nice quiet ambience, clean restrooms.
