Ristorante La Locanda Ratings and Reviews
We have been to this restaurant quite a few times previously and enjoy it. This time, the food was not cooked as requested and the chops were over-cooked. The wine by the glass was quite expensive which is okay if you get a respectable pour. However, it was about 4 oz. and definitely not worth the price. I don't remember it being like this previously.
Went here on a Thursday night. Seated in first main dining room. Lovely room!
Very friendly, efficient service. We had a 5 month old baby with us and although he was very good throughout the meal people were very accommodating. All of our meals were tasty, well- prepared and plentiful. Noise level was quiet on a Thursday.
Really enjoyed this dining exoeriene!
Went there last Friday night. Fiancé had a gift card. Service was fantastic and our waitress was very attentive and polite. Food on the other hand was another story. While it was edible, it was not enjoyable. I got the eggplant rollatini which was basically eggplant mush covered in cheese and ragu. Fiancé got mushroom ravioli with prosciutto. Raviolis tasted old and like they were from plastic packaging and the “prosciutto” tasted more like old Canadian bacon. Would have sent them back but as it was a gift card and we didn’t want to wait for new entrees we figured it wasn’t worth it. The price points for both entrees was very disproportionate with the quality. Was both of our first times there and don’t think we will be returning.
We were disappointed with the food and the waiters. One seated us at the table and told us he would be our waiter and then someone else showed up. It was confusing. The food was not good. My mom's veal was tough and my soft-shell crabs had no flavor. The broccoli rabe was overcooked. The owner came by and took my mother's meal off of the check but our dinner was still over $100. Will not go back any time soon.
We were pleased with the whole experience, from drinks, appetizers to the entrees. Really enjoyed the food. The wait staff did an excellent job..... Very attentive, but not overbearing....Very professional.
Although we were there for a special occasion, we will definitely return on non-special days.
Very comfy, old-fashioned Italian restaurant. Reasonable prices. Just what were looking for. Friendly hosts and staff, other customers. "We're all one big family, eat and enjoy" type of atmosphere. Competent and speedy service. Food was very good, just a little too salty for me, but we will certainly go back.
This is a great restaurant that we went to on a whim last year. Since then we have been back quite a few times with the most recent being a birthday dinner. The food is fantastic, the service excellent and the staff friendly. It has become our favorite place to eat.
Good overall experience. The bread to start and wine by the glass list did not meet expectations for an Italian restaurant. Caesar salad was good, entrees were better than good, and the deserts were average. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Saved the day
La Locanda is my favorite dining destination in the Edgmont area. The food is good, and the service is excellent, professional and friendly. It is a favorite place for families, and is very comfortable. The noise level is such that a hearing impaired person can do pretty well. The staff is very attentive and pleasant.
The service was excellent from greeting to check. We had a party of 8 and were immediately seated. Wine list is incredible and by the glass selections are complimentary to any taste. Portion sizes are ample without being too large. Timing was excellent. My only comment is that it Is a bit pricy especially for a large party. Table side service of fresh fish is worth the price.
