Ristorante Giuseppe, in Shreveport, specializes in incredibly authentic and flavorful Italian cuisine with a dose of classic southern hospitality in its grand and elegant eatery. The crabmeat tortino crepe topped with savory mushrooms sauce and the taleggio cheese plate with marmalade make exceptional starters. Some of Ristorante Giuseppe's specialty entrées include the homemade beef tortellini Maria Rosa in creamy alfredo sauce with ham and peas, beef filet and jumbo shrimp surf and turf meal in a succulent red wine sauce and the crab-stuffed roasted quail in port sauce served over a bed of polenta, all of which are prepared to perfection.
For a sweet end to your meal, enjoy one of Ristorante Giuseppe's many homemade desserts, such as the amaretto house cake, a layered sponge cake with amaretto cream, chocolate and whipped cream or the apple torta de mele served with vanilla and chocolate gelati.
Excellent as always. Hate to see it close. Best of luck to Chef in the future.
One of Shreveport's best. I/we have never had a bad meal here.
Giuseppe's always delivers. Delicious food and great service!
Party of six I can't say the food was bad it just wasn't good it was bland and not seasoned all six of us on the four different entrees ordered thought the same the meat and cheese tray was good the Caesar salad was not good to me but it may be me our server was not friendly at all she did get better as the evening wore on but was never friendly
I made last minute reservations on Saturday afternoon for 3 persons at 5:30p that same day. I was so pleased that they were able to accommodate my party of 3. When we arrived, the hostess promptly seated us in the main dining room. The waitress was extremely attentive and polite. She reviewed with us the specials of the day and also suggested a wine to accompany our meal. The entire dinner including wine and dessert was delicious and satisfying! Definitely will return again!!
Sunday brunch menu is one of the best in Shreveport.
Great food, pasta was excellent Good ambient for families.
I really feel like the value was in the small plates. I got a small wedge salad and followed it up with a risotto that was both very filling and tasty. My fiance got the special-redfish-which was delicious but not the portion or presentation (there was some kind of steamed celery stalk they were trying to pass as a vegetable you want to eat) I would expect from a $35 meal. The service was fair, I only say that because our waiter kept correcting the way everyone said their choices and one person's meal came out much later than everyone else's so we had to go back and inquire about it, at which point it was promptly brought out. It also wasn't a dish that should take any longer. The service was the downside, the food was all delicious and overall the value was okay.
Our server was a wealth of knowledge. Food was great, unique sauces full of flavor on our main dishes.
This was my first time here. The server was great, and very knowledgeable about the wine. Good ambience and noise level for dining and conversation. I was, however, disappointed in the food. One of our guests got the sausage pasta which lacked flavor. I found the value of the red snapper to be pretty poor for what I received - it was a very small piece of fish and portion of vegetables. Overall, it was a good experience and I would come back.
We go to Ristorante Guiseppe for most birthday and anniversary celebrations. We know they will give us an excellent and memorable dining experience. The food is superb, and unmatched in the city. The service is outstanding and seamless. We always look forward to a fine dining experience from appetizers to dessert - everything exceeds our expectations.
Very please with the waitressing staff, very professional. I will highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious food. Great service. An all-around outstanding experience.
This our second time to visit this restaurant and it will not be the last. The environment, food, and people was and is what we are looking for when we want to go out and eat.
I went on their website to check if something special was going on for valentines day. Nothing was posted online and they are normally closed on Sunday evening. Being that valentines day was on Sunday, and my wife deserved something special, i reserved a table through opentable.
After arriving for brunch we were seated at a two top table next to a table of 6, 4 adults(on their phones constantly) and two children(4 and 1 - 1/2). We ordered our food and proceeded to try and ignore the table next to us, it was impossible. Our drinks came out and the bread, we had to ask for butter. our appetizer came out and was great, then the pasta, we had to request pasta spoons. Our entrees came out and we had to request salt and pepper, the table was not set. we could not finish our entrees and asked that they be boxed for take out, the waiter forgot to bring it back out, before I left the restaurant I had to request my food.
They were out of onion soup and the coffee machine was broken.
The food was very good, the hostess and waitstaff need help.
For me it was a mistake to came here.
I am an Italian in Shreveport and after long time I would like to eat come Italian Food.
This restaurant has Italian NAME, Italian food names and Italian Chef, but the food is American Style.
Even the prices showed in some web sites who make restaurants reviews look like $30 and under, but in really at the end I have paid $120 in 2 people (1 appetizer, 2 meat and 2 glass of the chipper wine) .
The flavor of the food is nothing special as I do expected, the "Tuscan" Steak has dry spices on the top when I supposed to have a fresh flavor.
The only good food was the appetizer with cheeses and salami (that are not made from them), but even this plate is $24 for a very small portion.
This restaurant can be great for Americans who think to eat Italian food, but for me is expensive it has not an high quality of food.
Even my colleagues had a similar experience and they don't want to come back here anymore.
I am sorry, but if these are the Italians restaurants in Shreveport, I do prefer to eat an American Steak or Mexican food.
Few Italian comments (and we will not be here long time) cannot change the restaurant style.
If the Business of Giuseppe is going well in Shreveport with all the others people, I can understand his choice of food.
The service was great. The food was ok. My husband and I frequently visit more "upscale" restaurants in the area and the food here was not up to par. We started off with a cheese plate that was ok, next We had the crab appetizer & the caprese salad. Both were ok. For our entrees, my husband had the snapper and I had the surf & turf. Both lacked flavor. The steak was served in a very heavy sauce that reminded me of a Chinese restaurant. For dessert, we had the soufflé which was wonderful. I just wasn't impressed.
Second time here. Food was flavorless and overpriced. Had the rock fish special. It was terrible. Won't be back.
Five of us ate on an early Friday evening. Rating for food for each person varied depending on the food item. I had tortellini and house salad. Bread and butter was very good. Service excellent.
Great atmosphere with quality food and service. Wait staff professional, environment and silverware was clean. I went at lunch and this will definitely become one of my weekly destinations.
I loved this restaurant!! I was very welcoming from the beginning to end. The atmosphere was very calm..and soothing. Low lighting set the mood for very romantic evening
This is a place we go back to again and again, mostly for special occasions. My family and friends from Switzerland like it, so does my family from Amherst MA, Berkeley CA, Atlanta GA and friends from Santa Fe, NM, Lexington, KY etc.
We thought this would be a great find in Shreveport , but it was not to be. The Caprese salad was only so-so, although December might not have been the best time to expect good tomatoes . Eggplant parmigiana was listed under salads. The Oso Buco was tough, and under cooked. The medium rare lamb was served medium well. Given the nearby options of Wine Country Bistro, or Superior Steakhouse , I think I'd give this one a pass .
Although I have brought business guests to Guisseppe's more times than I can count (30+), this visit was to have a very nice dinner in a quiet restaurant. As usual, Guiseppe's did not disappoint. The food was great, the desserts outstanding.
Was in town for a couple days and happened to run across this gem. I highly recommend it!!!
First time here - driving through the neighborhood block after block of absolute darkness - I don't know what happened - but there was no power anywhere!!! From I-49 to the restaurant and beyond.
I thought there was no way that Guiseppe's could be open for our party of 8 - but went inside to check, following the bobbing light of someone waving a flashlight at the door.
A warmly lit oasis of hospitality and cheer welcomed me! They were fully up and running, candles everywhere - still very much in good form. A bit of an adventure - but really great experience. They even still honored plans for large parties for Christmas dinners from workplaces in private rooms.
They explained their kitchen was gas and so the entire menu was available = with the exception of frozen drinks and the amazing dessert souffles - due to needing electricity for those appliances.
Great service and above and beyond performance - highly recommend.
I had walked by this place 1000 times going nextdoor to Starbucks, but never went in. Finally pulled the trigger the other night and was VERY pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing! Dessert was equally as amazing. Great staff and ambiance was nice too. Will definitely be going here again.
Food was fantastic, wait staff was quick and helpful. Would definitely go again.
Food and service are the best in Shreveport. Will definitely be back!!
All five of us who dined at Giuseppe's were very pleased with the food, wine and the choices we had. I have and will keep recommending this restaurant and come back for special occasions.
Many thanks to the chef.
Our waiter, Chris, was very attentive, but not intrusive. He made solid recommendations and the food was very solid. The tortellini dish was our favorite of the night.
The food was outstanding and the price was great. I made the reservations online with special note about our needs and the reason for the visit. I am very pleased that they did read the note and made everyone aware, celebration of an 85 year old lady. At the front door booth she was even wished a Happy Birthday before seating us. Made her feel special.
To find this Italian "gem" in Shreveport is quite exceptional. Close to Southern Italy "taste" and experience when they have to use American products. Would recommend to any one that travels to this area to capture very close to the Italian flavors.
This is a classy venue, staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Bar very comfortable. Our table had a view of the open kitchen how awesome. Head chef was totally involved in the preparation, and inspected every plate before it left the kitchen. Food is spectacular .
This was my first dining experience at RG and to say it was well worth the wait, well, that's an understatement! From the food to the service, it was well beyond expectations. They even gave my Mom a birthday card! Perfect experience!
One just can't go wrong here. The food is always superb. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is very comfortable. We are lucky to have this fine restaurant in our home town of Shreveport.
The service was great and the food was even better. My wife really enjoyed the dinning experience and so did I, will definitely be back.
The food preparation and presentation can't be be. The staff is very attentive to the customer and knowledgeable of the food offered by chef. I've never been disappointed.
This restaurant was a wonderful result from an online search. Everything went smoothly from arrival through departure. Our waiter did a great job of taking care of our every need. My daughter received a very nice handwritten card for her birthday. We had help with the menu and enjoyed our selections. The dessert was complimentary for her birthday and a wonderful end to a very delicious meal. I will visit again when next in the area.
My wife and I were having our last Date flight in combination of celebrating our 6 year Anniversary slightly early due to AF commitments. I requested a single yellow rose to surprise my wife and they did a phenomenal job selecting the Rose and getting us a romantic table. The food, as usual, was outstanding and the service was great. Our waiter provided us excellent service and remembered that he had served us a couple of times before. Thank You Guiseppe, we will surely miss being able to go to your restaurant.
