It was the best Italian food I have had Since being in Italy. We will definitely go back.
Excellent food excellent service!
All four of us really liked the food.
Food was good. Service was good. We enjoyed having dinner there.
Really exceptional service and food. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. Very accommodating staff.
Nice service, Good food
Everyone liked what we got, friendly waiter, fast service, not very noisy
My wife and I love having dinner at tis restaurant
Excellent service. Excellent food.
Parking can be a problem
I hadn't been here in quite some time, but am so glad we came back. This was a rather rare date night for my husband and me. We just loved it. The food was delicious - very authentic Italian. And no fear of cooking with flavors. The wine list was fabulous at surprisingly reasonable prices. Our server was super attentive. We just loved everything about Don Giovanni's. What a find in our neighborhood.
I had a fun time with my Girlfriend for our anniversary dinner.
We had party of 14 in for a business meal it was perfect. The wait staff was very attentive and got the appetizers and wine on the table quickly after we arrived. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere was good for interacting around the table. Have also been there with just my wife and it’s nice a romantic dinner for two also. Will definitely be back (probably many times)
Decent food, good ambiance, and we were able to hear each other talk, which is quite a treat these days. And the waiter was superb. Attentive enough, not too attentive, very professional and old school. A real treat to get such excellent service.
Superb Restaurant! We ALWAYS come here when we are in town. There are other Italian restaurants in the area but none is better. Service is impeccable, atmosphere is outstanding and the food is absolute perfection. Simply a 10
We went here to celebrate my friends 80th birthday. The food was great and the service was good...the server seemed a bit busy and not attentive to our table, however he did remember to bring a special birthday dessert for my friend. It was all good!!!
Our waiter was very hard to understand.
We were very polite about it....but had to ask him to repeat things several times. Because one of our guests had allergies, clarity was a MUST - however this guy seemed genuinely offended - his face showed it - almost palpably, so I am sure he was aware of it. Not acceptable, and certainly not professional for a restaurant of this caliber. More like embarrassing.
Finally......It's wonderful to have a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities working in your restaurant, it's awful when they make the GUEST feel bad if/when they can't speak English clearly and politely.
We asked for 1/2 a portion of Rissoto and they would not do it
We had to pay for the full portion
You should try to help the customers in a better way
Our second visit in two months.
The spaghetti with chicken was good I asked for extra spicy sauce and it was good
The starters was bread and a spicy dipping sauce made with Garlic, Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar
The Tiramisus was good
Our experience at Don Giovanni was just "okay". To their credit, the restaurant was full and busy. It might have been a mellower experience on a weekend. Our server was certainly efficient, but somewhat brusque, given it was such a busy night. Our drinks were brought reasonably quickly and were good. The calamari was among the best we ever had: extremely tender and lightly coated. Some may have preferred a bit more coating. However, the bruschetta, described on the menu as a toasted baguette slice actually came with untoasted, unheated bread. So, naturally, it became soggy pretty quickly. The gnocchi was disappointing, in that it was doughy and not very flavorful. The menu failed to mention, in any way, that the linguine w/clams came with a dousing of red pepper flakes, so it had to be returned . Perhaps we should have checked first about the red pepper flakes, because this has happened before in other places. This was where the server was somewhat ungracious; rather agitated, perhaps because of the extra chore. He seemed irritated again, when I helped myself to some grated cheese, instead of bothering him to serve it to me. (The cheese was well within my reach on a little service table). The replaced linquine/clam dinner was excellent, the clams fresh and tasty. For desert, the tiramisu was not structured very well and seemed overly soggy; it's flavor was not impressive. All in all, a bit of a disappointment on this visit.
Very accomodating waiter. Generous portions and good seasoning. Noise level made conversation an effort.
Food authentic and good, wine a bit pricy, nice seating, not too noisy, which is a very good thing!
We have eaten there before and will again.
They were really great with our large and disorganized group of diners. Food was excellent and they got the children's meals out first which was very kind. Great staff and excellent service.
Always good food and great service! The Veal Osso Bucco was tender and very tasty!
Very good Italian school . Presented well. Al dente pasta. Beautifully cooked fish. We will dine here again.
Average Italian Cuisine
Poor service even after we told the waiter we were attending the theatre that night. Food was just ok, iced tea tasted like it was stale.
Crossed off my dining plans going forward
We celebrated Father's Day and two birthdays simultaneously on Sunday, June 17. Our family never goes to a restaurant on Father's Day because restaurants are usually over-crowded and the food is sub-par. However, although it was crowded, we had a reservation and were seated immediately, and the food was the same quality we've come to expect. The only negative, and it isn't the restaurants fault, but it was very noisy and we had a 94 year old with us with a severe hearing problem. She couldn't hear a thing being said at the table, so I'd note that for others in the same situation.
Poor Italian food. Especially for vegetarians. They have options, but not tasty. Pasta & sauce taste like they’re from Safeway.
The food was superb and lots of choices on the menu. Our biggest downside was that the waiter seemed to be in a hurry! We were there for our anniversary and would have liked time to linger over the courses, but our waiter didn’t leave any time. When we got our dessert and let it sit for a few minutes while we digested our entree he was over wanting to know why we weren’t eating it! There are so many great restaurants in the area we would try a different one next time.
I came with friends from San Jose and I haven’t lived in Ca for 35 years, so neither of us had been here before. We all loved it. Tho we had to come early at 5 pm, so there was no real social scene. But food was excellent, service was wonderful and the value was just right. They helped my friend’s son have a nice birthday complete with surprise dessert. I would definitely go again. And my daughter works at 23 and Me around the corner, so I look forward to a return visit some day!
I was only at this restaurant one other time for a birthday banquet for about 50 people. The food was good. I thought that if they can do good banquet food, the regular restaurant food must be even better. It didn't disappoint. We celebrated our daughter-in-laws birthday there and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The ambiance was warm, and the service very good.
Came here with family on weekend. This was our first visit. The place was pretty dead, the couches in the booth we sat in were sagging and the wall was dirty.
The sea bass was good but the other pasta dishes were mediocre to poor - too much salt, poor presentation, felt like meat sauce from a bottle.
I don’t think I can convince my family to go back here. Perhaps we have been spoilt by the great Italian restuarants on the east coast!!
We ordered appetizers, alcohol, entrees, desserts and coffee.
This was our second visit - we were becoming loyal patrons of this establishment.
The food was great.
The service - mediocre, then poor.
It is unacceptable to serve coffee in a cup that already contained LIPSTICK marks on it. When brought to the waiter's attention, there were no apologies or compensations. There were no verbal acknowledgements, nothing. The cup was replaced, but we were already left with a bad taste in our mouths.
Had we been eating off of used plates? We were nauseated by what seemed like a likely possibility our food was served in unsanitary conditions.
We received unacceptable service, nonetheless, and we will not be returning.
Visited the day after Mother's Day so it was very quiet. Our server was delightful and timed everything to come out of the kitchen just right. The food was tasty & plentiful. Staff was friendly & attentive. We were visiting this area from CO, but if we are ever back this way again, will make a stop here.
Have been to this restaurant regularly including Christmas celebration for my company. I always enjoy the Italian food and the service. The daily specialties like fish dish is a good value.
Mother’s Day celebration
Mother’s Day dinner - friendly waiters, food served fast and HOT, tasted great. Even my 3 year old approved.
Authentic Italian menu, tasty food & great service!
This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants. It is always dependable. The food and service are very good. Portions are ample.
