We had a great dinner here with a very attentive and friendly waiter. Nice wine list and menu. Water glass was always replenished-bread for the table was nice and warm. Dinner was hot and delicious!
Good food at good prices. Wine list needs a little help.
Service was wonderful. Owner very friendly Very accommodating overall a great spot close to Mountain View Center For Performing Arts
It was the first time i saw that the waiter asked for more tip. Its the most expensive restaurant and also the serving people are very rude.
It's a nice restaurant, with solid service and good food, but the price tag is sometimes excessive.
We've been going there a few times and find it generally a good value, but when we went on Valentine's Day the seater greeted us with "Here's the menu. Well, it's the same, but the prices are a little bit different". A little bit ? Everything was priced up by $15. Pasta plates were $30, and meat plates were $45. The food or service there is never worth that much.
We were offered a table for four in a noisy area when we were only two. We asked to be moved to a booth and they did so somewhat grudgingly. It was nicely decorated for Valentine's. The waiter told us specials but did not tell the price and we had to ask. They were some of the most expensive dishes at the restaurant. The linguine with clam sauce was very good, the eggplant parmesan was decent. The Chianti by the glass was inferior. The bread was warm and fresh. The service good enough. I like this place when I don't want to overthink dinner. Will be back.
Service was excellent, staff was very attentive and took time to answer questions.
Food was excellent with good portions for the price. Bread was very good.
We will be back again with friends and family.
Been there a few times with friends, this time just the 2 of us. Got a nice booth. Everything was superb, our waiter was related to the owner, manages the Burlingame restaurant. Could not have been a better experience.
Came here with some people for a work dinner. Wine list was good, not too overpriced (which is nice for this area). Service wasn't great, she asked us twice about our appetizer order, then still brought the wrong items. The calamari was very good, crabcakes were mediocre. I had the veal satimboca - flavorful, but nothing spectacular. My friends had the salmon special and the fish special - both said it was ok. Overall, there are a lot of options in this area - I'd rather go to another place.
I have visited this place twice so far and the second time didn't really change my opinion. The menu is quite short and doesn't reflect so well the richness of the Italian cuisine. The ambient is not something special either and felt pretty overcrowded. Altogether I would rather go to another place if I have to pick the place.
The food is good but could be spectacular. Unfortunately, the chef loves salt and oversalts everything to the point that it detracts from the taste. A small adjustment he/she could make that would have terrific results!
Nice place and good service. also you can walk at this street for shopping.
We had a lovely time at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the service good. We had a great time ..
Don Giovanni's has a local neighborhood charm with great service. Their pasta dishes were plentiful and well done. However, I was very disappointed in their crab cakes on the appetizer menu.
The crab cakes tasted like sawdust and I didn't find any chunks of crab. They obviously were not homemade and were flat little pancakes that may have come out of box . They were tasteless. What a disgrace during crab season. If they cannot make a proper crab cake, they should remove them from the menu immediately.
Fun dinner with our grown kids. Accommodating to both vegans and carnivores....tasty for all.
Good food, ambiance and service. Will definitely come again to try out other dishes on the menu. Will try to make it for dinner too.
Came here for a birthday lunch and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. Highly recommend!
We made a reservation for two on New Year's Eve. We got there on time and were seated promptly. But we were seated in an adjacent room, not the main dining area, that had the look and feel of a community center. Cavernous, bare and cold. Paltry attempts to dress up the space.
When we asked if there was an option to be seated in the main room, we were told it would be 20-30 minutes' wait. Since we had other plans, we acquiesced.
If we had been alerted that the overflow guests might be seated in the secondary room, we might have come prepared mentally or just not have made the reservation.
Also my dish was called languini xxx and I do prefer it to other forms of pasta. I had spaghetti instead and the server said not a word. He probably did not notice. He was rushing around; such was the service that night.
We dined here years ago on Christmas Day, and we were some of the only people in the place. This time, however, the restaurant was packed. I can see why, since the food is excellent - starting with the hot bread, all the way through dessert. Husband had veal scallopini and said it was great. I had the penne with eggplant, which was also very good. My kryptonite has always been bread pudding, and theirs is TDF. This is a great place for Italian food.
