We always love eating at Divinos when visiting our 2 Gamecocks! Such a lovely place for a family meal. The food is amazing and the service is always excellent!
Excellent food with exceptional service. Really appreciated our server, Michael, going to bat for me to alter the entree a touch to meet my dietary quirks. Husband's veal chop was melt in your mouth delish!
Would definitely go back if in Columbia again.
Very welcoming ! Waiter was awesome! No pushy and let us relax!
Ristorante Divino is our favorite special occasion dining experience, reserved for birthdays and anniversaries. The food is always outstanding, the service is as good as it gets, and the wine/drink options are outstanding. Definitely worth the price!!!
Ordered the Cobia special. Fish was undercooked and raw/frozen in the middle. Dinner lasted 2 hours because of awful service and an extremely slow kitchen. We mentioned our complaints and they just looked at us with a blank stare.
Perfect setting for a great dinner with family
Very well taken care of. Great restaurant and staff
This was my first time there. There was a calm about the whole place that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the food, drink and company. I was there on a Monday night, so I have no idea what the place feels like on busier nights. The food was very good, albeit a bit salty for my taste, and the service very attentive. Overall, I would recommend it and definitely go back.
The gnocchi bolognese was the best I’ve ever had! Enjoyed the cheese board and Prosecco as well
Think we must have caught this restaurant on a bad night. Our Wine, bread and salad arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but we waited over an hour and a half for our entrees. Management had an excuse that they had a large party. When our food arrived we honestly were not pleased. We love Italian food, but we did not enjoy the flavors of our entrees. We won't be returning.
Fabulous food. There is always something unique on the special menu! Quiet atmosphere where you can have a conversation and actually hear each other. My absolute favorite place to go.
I had a really good Caesar salad. I also had a spaghetti pasta that was authentic
The hostess was friendly and fantastic and the entire wait staff was superb as well.
Thank you for a fun evening!
Celebrated my husband’s birthday. Service was exceptional and the food was some of the best we have had since moving to Columbia!
Food was good, service a little slow. Overall nice meal with family.
I am an Italian and a very good cook. I only eat out when the food is very good. Everyone in our party totally enjoyed their meal. That is rare.
My husband I, chose Ristorante Divino to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Reservation on line was simple.
Entrance to the restaurant is somewhat dark and could use some plants to make it more attractive.
Service was very good. Our server -Drew- was very courteous as soon as we got a table, he introduced himself and ordered some cocktails.
Appetizer Bruschetta was very tasty and served promptly . Main course (Pollenta and rack of lamb) excellent.
Dessert tiramisu was good.
Background music retro from the 50's created a pleasant atmosphere. Personally, the decor was too dark for my taste. I prefer bright places.
Overall it was a very nice dining experience which I'll recommend and visit again.
the server was the best part of the dinner
Went here during Restaurant Week and loved the 3 course meal. The servers were great and I really loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend.
First time back in Columbia in 4 years for Mom’s birthday. Food and service are still outstanding. 5+ Stars
Low key quiet and intimate. The food was delicious and very fairly priced.
Very good dinner, although, a bit spicier than the last time. Still fantastic though.
The restaurant, the service and the food was exceptional. I would definitely return to this restaurant.
Food was great as usual. The appetizers were very good. It was a little noisy in the restaurant that night but it was only because it was crowded. We always enjoy eating there and will certainly go back again.
Their food is always great and the service is always excellent!! Will continue to dine there for many years to come. Great job Divino's!!
Service was great. Calamari really tasty. Polenta dish was a miss. Would have been good tasting seafood & polenta but dish was totally overpowered by too much & too spicy sauce.
Great food! My favorite place for great seafood in Columbia.
Medical school event
While the food is consistently good, as is the service, we are no longer willing to pay for a white tablecloth experience when that is no longer what is being offered. The manager and hostess were in jeans which signaled to the patrons clad in denim short shorts, tshirts etc that proper dress is not required. Very disappointing.
The server we had the last two times gave us excellent service. Have never had a somewhat bad experience here. Can’t go wrong here
The last several times good and service was marginal. This time marginal service and food was poor. Three of us ordered Escargot. All three were cold. Called the gentleman over that was wearing a red coat. He took back and never once apologized. Our server was not fully trained. This use to be one of our favorite spots. Don’t know what has happened but quality has gone way down. Will have to find another favorite.
None of our food had any wow factor - charcuterie board, Veal chop, and the spaghetti. My salad, the bread served and my vegetables served with my Veal were the best tasting things. The salad and charcuterie board took 20 minutes to come out. I had to ask for a refill on my iced tea. The Divino salad had great flavor but was wet and wilty. The charcuterie board meats really did not have much flavor at all and were all finely shaved dried meats with a very gamey, overall aged taste. The sauces and the bread were the best parts. The Veal Chop came out raw, not rare, raw. It took me 5 minutes to flag the manager as no one checked in on us. When I showed the cut part to the manager and he saw the fleshy meat and asked, “so you want us to cook it more?” The 5 bites before that were all fat that was very difficult to cut. After another 15 minutes it came back and was much better but despite being breaded and topped with cheese and a candies meat, still lacked great flavor. The spaghetti was too salty. We waited another 10 minutes to have our plates cleared. The waiter asked if my Veal was better and I said it was but it really should not been served that “rare” in the first place. He said that is how they do it there at 125 degrees. First of all 145 should be a minimum for serving certain meats like veal but he didn’t even ask me how I wanted it cooked???and he recommended it over the Special! Shouldn’t you have mentioned that you serve your Veal chop “sushi style” raw? Very disappointing experience for a place that has been recommended in the past. Slow service, average food, and no one asked how everything was and it wasn’t that busy. This place has definitely not what it used to be.
Service was good, drinks were good but the food was mediocre to poor. Fish was tough, had no flavor and not warm enough.
We ordered the fish special expecting it to be great- it was like rubber and tasteless.
The seafood offerings are otherwise very limited-to shellfish. Multiple folks served us
Which was a bit confusing.
The burrata was delicious but it was served over tough gnarly greens that were inedible.
We were very disappointed.
This was my second visit to Ristorante Divino. Both were excellent. Even when a well-attended birthday
party commenced nearby, the ambiance was pleasant. The service was warm and welcoming. At six o'clock
the sunlight playing on the red brick buildings across Gerais was a bit of a trip down memory lane for a
life-long admirer of the paintings of Edward Hopper. I mention the echo of a Hopper painting across the
street only to underscore that there are meany elements at play in an enjoyable evening at Divino. Thank you.
Average Italian food
The pasta was nearly uncooked. I would have sent it back but the waiter was out of sight. We ask to see the desert menu but the waiter never brought it to our table. We cancelled our future reservation and will likely never return.
This was probably our fourth visit to Ristorante Divino in the past two years. We consider it to be a place to go for a special night out, and they did not disappoint this time around. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes. The food is among the best Italian cuisine we have found in Columbia, and the server was very attentive. Given their location right in Gervais in the Vista, the valet parking is a true benefit.
On the negative side, they are pricier than they should be; and when you are paying their prices for a special night out, it is disappointing to see that they are so lax in their dress code (there were no fewer than three other people in the restaurant in shorts, tee shirts and tennis shoes).
Came for an anniversary dinner. Service was generally good but did have to ask for bread after server said it would be right out. My wife order steak special with chimichurri and requested the sauce on the side because she is sensitive to spicy foods. Steak came out perfectly cooked to medium rare but had the sauce on the steak. The replacement steak was overcooked but had the sauce on the side.
Experience was good but not up to an anniversary quality.
Took my parents out as they were visiting. When we go out for dinner we like this place.
Just felt like the flavors could have been better the appetizer was great but the entrees were average
