Ristorante Bonaroti Ratings and Reviews
Always a top choice for a meal. You can get anything you can dream of here. Food is incredible and they go out of their way to accommodate anything. I am gluten free and Sergio the owner noticed I didn’t have bread and asked if I wanted some gluten free bread. They just make your meal a fine dining experience. Pastas to fish to veal to chicken and everything in between. The appetizers and small plates are incredible. If you want one of the best meals around the area this is the place to go.
This is our favorite local restaurant for special occasions. Normally we would give it an all five stars review. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately, we were not quiet as impressed as usual with our experience on New Year's Eve. We were not aware in advance that there would be a limited menu offered for the holiday. Also, we dined early, and it wasn't as leisurely an experience as usual; I imagine because of the high volume of diners expected that day. We will continue to return time and time again for our special occasions and with guests, but we probably won't go on a major holiday in the future.
Have been to Ristorante Bonaroti quite a few times, never disspointed. Food is both excellant and creative.
Would be there more often, but I live in Northern New Jersey and travel to the DC area about 5 times yearly, and I am their every time, it is that good.
I loved the specials about 8 to pick from and the great fish choices & sauces are fantastic. The breads along with several items like oil, tomato’s and olive spreads were amazing. The service was first rate and I have always been amazed about the quality of every meal.
Our table was particularly nicely located, would ask for it next time. Wonderful ambience, season-appropriate, great attention to detail in general. Nice menu with many choices and specials, carefully prepared. The proprietor has a very dry and witty, understated sense of humor in spite of his formal, almost stern appearance. We agreed we would return.
Ristorante Bonaroti is probably the best Italian retaurant in the DC area. It is my go to for business dining and when trying to make a good impression on others as well as providing them with an overall amazing experience. Hats off to proprietor Sergio and his staff.
We started with the 3 types of warm bread, yummy. I had the saltimbocca entre. It was full of flavor and the vegetables were great. My wife had the torellini with lamb and my mom had the gnocchi. They were all home made, with a nice sauce and reminded me of my grandmother's pasta I grew up with. The staff was attentive and friendly and the owner a very gracious host. It was a super time for my mom's birthday.
Awesome food, and very friendly staff (including the owner).
It just took half an hour for them to take us to our table (is the second time it happens, in both cases we had a reservation), but the owner couldn’t care more and he apologized multiple times, plus sent us a sweat treat at the end of our meal.
Also our waiter was a little slow, but super friendly and attentive.
The food is totally worth waiting to get seated or the small issues with the service, try the dinner specials!
I will be coming back.
Bonaroti is one of our favorite restaurants. A creative Italian menu with many non-traditional dishes, there is always something new and delicious to try. The wine list is also unusual -- a very wide variety of wines without the exorbitant mark-up found at other high-end restaurants. We've never been disappointed with the food or the service.
Over the years Bonarati has consistently been a special place where you can enjoy a wonderful meal with special people. This happens because Sergio and the staff are attentive without being hovering and recognize when there is a need or question without interfering in conversation between diners. The food is incredible and the easy willingness to accommodate and suggest special requests makes it a creative pleasure to dine with them. Cannot recommend highly enough.
This meal was outstanding in every respect. It was a special dinner party that I hosted for my wife and she was very very pleased. The party was special because it was my wife's 41st Anniversary of her 39th Birthday. Years ago, my wife became concerned about broadcasting her age. Consequently, I came up with the naming of her subsequent birthdays as annual anniversaries of her 39th Birthday. Confusing for sure, because one would have to mentally compute her birthday age and would quickly give up ... much to my wife's delight. This delight was fortified by the excellent wines that were offered by Restorante Bonaroti for our cocktails. My wife and our four guests were also extremely pleased, as I was, with the absolutely superior meals we were served. I previously dropped off a special Birthday Cake for our desert. It was very nicely served by our waiter and his helper. The cake had musical candles and we all sang to my wife with her Happy Birthday Anniversary! What very very very nice service, atmosphere, wine, food and 100% attention! What else is there? Six very pleased birthday dinner celebrants! For sure ... and we are coming back ... very soon. Last note: The price was excellent! A bargain for the very very good experience we all had.
Took a friend out to celebrate her upcoming birthday. We started with cocktails and conversation. Followed by appetizers with conversation. Followed by dinner with conversation and lastly dessert with conversation. 5 hours later (could not believe how long we stayed) we ended our evening together. No way you can spend 5 hours at a restaurant, unless they make you feel comfortable and welcomed to enjoy dinner at your pace. Outstanding evening. Would highly recommend.
