Unbelievable food and service. Top rate wait staff who gave great recommendations and even told us how to save money on our wine order. Will 100% be back!

Food is not an exceptional.
I think they have been changed over the years.
Excellent meal and service. Very good place for a business lunch meeting.
This classic Italian fine dinning establishment never gets old or goes out of style. From the moment you enter the front door you are made to feel like an old friend. The food is outstanding with an extensive list of nightly specials. So many great options it’s hard to choose.
Loved this dining experience! As did everyone in our party. The food was delicious.
Always a great evening with delicious food and excellent service.
One of my favorite restaurants. Never fails to please with fantastic food and service. Have recommended it to multiple people.
I have been a customer of Sergio (the owner) for 30 years. Bonaroti is the best Italian Restaurant in the area.
We were celebrating our daughters caregivers birthday. They had the wheelchair ramp ready for us when we arrived. Food has always been fantastic here and that night was no exception. Service was excellent as well.
We go to Ristorante Bonaroti whenever we're celebrating a birthday or anniversary because we can count on the food and service. This past Sunday we were celebrating an anniversary and had great food and a wonderful time. The chef created a special dish for my brother-in-law that was perfect - pasta in a vodka sauce with grilled chicken. It wasn't on the menu, but was exactly what my brother-in-law wanted.
Every aspect of this delightful dining experience was of five-star quality.
Food was excellent. Many daily specials. portions are very nice sized and the little extras that they give makes it a memorable evening.
We had a reservation. We arrived on-time. We were dressed appropriately. We had to wait several minutes before being seated even though there were empty tables in the dining room. When seated, we were put at a table that was not even set for service and was in a high-traffic area. I assumed the set tables in more desirable locations were reserved but some of them remained empty the entire time we were there.
The food was delicious. I had an Italian salad and the shrimp/calamari with penne in a red sauce. My husband had the portabella salad and one of the specials—rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and green beans. The lamb was cooked as requested and the portion was plentiful.
Our main course was served before our appetizers were done and when dishes were cleared from the table, they were stacked. Not what is expected in a restaurant of this type.
Our waiter was less than attentive. At the end of the meal, we declined dessert and requested our check. We waited a very long time without receiving the check. We then moved to the bar area where things were less hectic and asked to have our check brought to us there. The waiter offered to buy my husband a drink because he knew he was not happy but my husband declined.
While in the bar, Sergio (owner/manager?) came in and my husband told him we were not happy with the service and that we would not be coming back to the restaurant. My husband could have made his complaint in a gentler manner but he was upset (not loud or creating a scene). Sergio became defensive. He did not want to hear what the problems were and dismissed my husband’s comments.
While we were waiting to get out coats from coat check, my husband went to the restroom. During the time he was gone, Sergio came over to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the service we received.
My wife and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal but my wife thought hers was just ordinary and not worth the price. The service, however, was excellent. I thought the noise was rather loud and made it a little difficult for me to have a meaningful conversation.
Great service, delicious food, all around a very good experience.
Service was horrible! When confronting the manager, he dismissed us with a wave of his hand
We always receive the beast service and most delicious meals. If it is a special occasion the staff goes out of the way to make it a memorable celebration.
Great as always. We consider Bonaroti as our favorite restaurant for special occasions.
Very nice restaurant. I know many people who love it. Service was very good. Food was nothing special. The pasta side dish was over cooked. Cost to quality was poor. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in NJ. Maybe it’s me. As I said I know people who love it.
We were celebrating a birthday and it’s clear that many celebrate special occasions there. It’s like leaving Vienna for Cinque Terra for a few hours. Authentic food and Italian service in a warm setting. A breath of fresh air in an area with far too many chain restaurants.
A good restaurant for special occasions. Great food and a great wine menu. A high level of service makes for a nice dining experience.
I have been to Bonaroti many times over the years. They never disappoint. In my humble opinion, the best Italian restaurant in the area. Very authentic food as if you were in Rome.
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive wait staff. The food was wonderful. The wine selection is superb and the mark-up is reasonable. Overall, made our night very memorable.
Went for my moms 80th birthday and it was a great celebration.
Had an excellent meal with a business partner. The food was great and the service superb. Great restaurant for a special occasion.
Way above the normal fare in the VA burbs. I am never disappointed with the service and the food.
Old world elegance with impeccable service - fine dining at its best. Ristorante Bonaroti's daily specials and 'special specials' always have something new and yummy! Their regular menu is excellent as well, all the favorites are ready to tempt your tastebuds!
food was very good as was the service. noise level was very loud due to a large table of patrons.
The service was wonderful. All the waiters were very attentive and the ambiance was good. The tables are placed pretty close to each other though.
A quiet, pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff. The food was nicely presented but rather tasteless. The wine was good and the desserts very nice. I would be willing to try another dish.
My first visit to Bonaroti was almost 20 years ago and it continues to be flawless. The service and food are amazing. I've never been rushed from cocktails, to apps, to dinner, to dessert. The staff offers suggestions, gives you time to enjoy each course, and every dish and glass of wine has always exceeded expectations. The decor is older but classically elegant. I visited this week to celebrate a dear friend's promotion and everything was perfect.
Have been going here for over 25 years and it is the best Italian restaurant in the area. There are a lot of dishes to choose from. They have a long menu and the a specials list and and another daily specials list, certainly something for everyone. The food is always great and the service excellent. Sergio, the owner, is always in the dining room helping serve or talking to patrons. The restaurant is a little pricey, but it's well worth the visit. It's great for those special occasion dinners.
This was my second dining experience (the first was New Years Eve). The food and service were stellar! Sergio has in my opinion the best restaurant in Northern Virginia!
My wife and I had not been to Ristorante Bonaroti for many years and were very pleased with our dinner. We will certainly put this fine Italian dining destination on our calendar in the future. It is a pleasure to dine at a home grown, read not chain, restaurant. The menu selections were enticing and I very much enjoyed my lamb chops.
Always a GREAT MEAL. Never had a bad meal. Must try if in DC area nearviennķkkķ
They do not make restaurants like this anymore. Formal yet down-to-earth. We felt pampered throughout our meal. EVOO & balsamic in a small dish for dipping the addictive focaccia. A glass or 2 of Sangiovese made me long for the adventure we had in Toscana. Can it really be 20 years ago? I had stuffed squash blossoms in a light tomato sauce as an appetizer. Hubby had stuffed mushroom caps. My Veal Milanese topped with a generous salad & Barry's Veal Saltimbocca ("jump into the mouth") were sublime. We shared a serving of 5 white asparagus spears. The Danesi Cappuccino was a special treat. Desserts were Profiteroles & Grand Marnier cake (the latter was our favorite). Complimentary snifters of Amaretto followed. Hoping to return soon!
Great food and ambience. Just what we wanted for our date night.
We brought a small group for a celebration at lunch and the service was outstanding. They were very accommodating, and extremely observant . I had request to have champagne poured when we walked in and it was ready immediately upon arrival. I will be going back here many more times in the future. They even brought out a congratulatory homemade tiramisu.
