My wife and I love Ristorante Bonaroti and have been coming her for about 20 years. From the time you walk in you experience a warm, comfortable ambience and are treated with respect and pleasing attention. The service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. The menu contains countless choices of authentic Italian cuisine then to make your decision harder they present you with over a dozen dinner specials. Save room though, as the desserts are great. After dinner (or before) grab a drink or two in the small yet impressive bar which has a very friendly bar staff.
Great restaurant - food was very, very good. Wine list very satisfying. Four friends meeting dinner, wine. We highly recommend and will definitely return.
Great food. Not too busy for a Sunday night. Awesome location if you are planning to head to Wolf Trap afterwards for a concert.
What a great dinner! See the owner taking care of the costumers is a win. We share a delicious wine at the end of our dinner, food on point, we are definitely come back.
We had a wonderful meal while in the area. Would certainly visit again if in the area
We dine here for special occasions and when we have guests in town. The food and service are both always exceptional.
Ristorante Bonaroti meets the highest standards in all catgories -- that was so on this occasion, and happens every time.
Happened across this on OpenTable and made a reservation-Yumola! The food is absolutely authenticity ITALIAN. NOT mass produced! Upscale but not uppity - although I wouldn’t wear jeans and a t-shirt - this is a place for “dining out”. Incredibly notable menu and the homemade bread basket they brought to the table never went empty. Many of the waiters are Italian as well. Old school in the very best possible way. A complete Vienna neighborhood gem - we will be back.
Dinner for a birthday celebration.
Food was excellent. The Ceviche with octopus was a bit hit. The veal chop special was exceptional.
Sergio, as always, is an excellent and impeccable host. Thank you again for another wonderful experience.
I really like to dine at Bonaroti. One of my family favorites.
This is a traditional Italian restaurant with good food and very good service. We enjoyed the white tablecloths. The bar looks inviting, and does carry the full menu. We tried the fish specials, rockfish and halibut, and the sauces were very good, while the fish was tasty but a bit dry. I would try the veal next time, as these traditional dishes sounded very good. The main dining room is not large, so I recommend reservations.
A level of service that I rarely find anymore. My wife and I were taken care of at just the right level. Attentive but not overwhelming. The food matches with every dish a delight. Even the end of the meal comes with a bit of biscotti at the end. We try and go every time we are in that area.
As always, the food and serve were first rate.
Sergio and team always do a fantastic job. Service is excellent and the food is great. Try the Osso Bucco after a salmon carpaccio starter. Mixed with a great red wine, you will leave very happy!
A table for 8 celebrating a special birthday and it couldn't have been a nicer, more personal setting to enjoy good company, good food, and superb service! Thank you to all at Ristorante Bonaroti's! We'll be back!
This restaurant is a must! The food is delicious, the service impeccable, and the wait staff and owner are superstars. I always enjoy dining here and very much appreciate the one-on-one attention. It is great for lunch and dinner and the price points are competitive and reasonable.
Overall a wonderful experience. We had a large party and so ended up at a nicely arranged table in a back room. Service was exceptional and the menu had more than enough variety for everyone to find something they enjoyed.
The service was responsive. The food was very good. Lots of variety of foods. Lots of fish options. They kept the water glass full. The bread was good.
Overall a great meal. Having tried multiple Italian restaurants in the DC area, this one is definitely one I will come back to. The Fruti di Mare was excellent as was the burrata. All the dishes looked great and the service was fantastic.
Top quality in all respects. Ristorante Bonaroti is always tops.
I have eaten here once before years ago - back then it was dark and food was just okay. I returned for a quick dinner with a friend and nothing much has changed. Mind you we were probably the first diners to be seated for the evening. Waiters don't seem to have much training in greeting the guests. Person that seemed to be "in charge" wasn't much different. Restaurant is dark inside and not welcoming at all (too dark, what are you hiding) and nothing has changed. Doesn't seem to have investment back into the dining area. Staff doesn't look happy to be working there and stand around huddled. Everyone seems to be walking around with no real purpose. We arrived for dinner and were given the "Bar Menu" and the "Regular Dining Menu" - both were equal in length and very similar - doesn't make sense and makes the diner feel like your kitchen would rather serve from the Bar Menu (again, doesn't make sense). This alone was not a great impression. The bread was cold and stale. The food seems to be microwaved - doesn't taste very fresh. So much sauce on our plate that it was difficult to really taste your pasta and veal (it could have chicken for all we know). It was just drowned and again you can tell when your white/creamy sauce is microwaved. Our area now demands that owners/chefs take pride in their restaurant - just because you have been around for years does not mean you can get comfortable. Seems like our local restaurants are struggling and making all profits from their bars and not really on the food. Sad decline really. This restaurant has the potential to be great... but much needed overhaul is overdue.
Excellent in all dimensions--great food and service.
Great experience with Sergio and his team. Exceptional food and perfect service. We’ll be back soon
I needed a restaurant near the Wolftrap Filene center. I found this on Open Table. This is serendipity. The food and service were outstanding. The red sauce was very close to my mother’s recipe. (Brought back a lot of memories).
I would highly recommend for dinner. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth the indulgence.
Ristorante Bonarati is the place to go for high-end Italian. The service was outstanding; the food was delicious. A great place where you are not rushed. As a first timer, this was truly an unexpected pleasurable dining experience. It is on our very short "go-back often" list. I saw a few people wearing t-shirts and shorts, however, this place deserves the courtesy of better dress from its customers.
Ordered a dish and it was so salty. They said they make it again but instead of making it again , they washed down the food I ate before. Nothing was added to the dish so it had no flavor at all! Very disappointed! They didn’t even offer to not charge! Pasta was over cooked and no flavor what’s so ever!
Waiters were rude! Ruined my special occasion!
Wonderful experience. We will be back!
We have been coming to Bonaroti's for about 30+ years for our anniversary - we usually only come on our anniversary, but we have been raving about it so much for so many years, our friends want to go and we surely want to share the meal with them - so we brought foodie friends for dinner on Sunday. They just really enjoyed the meal and it was fun to enjoy an extra meal with them at our favorite place. They raved over the fried calamari and just loved their entrees, crab-stuffed shrimp, and diablo pasta. My husband and I enjoyed seafood linquine with red sauce and veal medallions.....lovely meal and will have to be sharing our special place with more friends now!
The food was awesome, I can’t wait to go back. The owner was very attentive
Wonderful food and service!!
The food was excellent and the service top notch!
Great. Loved it
As a NYC bred Italian, I can say with confidence that Bonaroti is among the best Italian restaurants in the region. While not offering exotic and novel cuisine, their offerings are first rate. Especially noteworthy are the daily seafood specials. The menu and specials offer a wide variety of styles and would met the tastes of almost any diner.
Never fails to please. Interesting salad specials are always a delight.
Meals were OK. Ceser salad lacked taste and was too watery. Calamari, shrimp, crab meat and scallops over linguini consisted mostly of calamari and was disappointing. The rum cake was dry and also was very disappointing.
Atmosphere was pleasant and service was good.
My only concern was that there seemed to be confusion about our reservation. When I arrived the young lady at the reception could not find it and yet my party was already seated. That worked out. Our servers were excellent and amazing how he knew all the specials by heart and there were several.
It had been years since we had a dinner at Bonariti's, but the food and service was just as good as we had remembered.
The food was fantastic, the ambiance was perfect and the service was top notch! I can't stop talking about this gem with my husband. We were there to celebrate a birthday and they took amazing are of us. I can't wait to go back!
