The food was awesome, I can’t wait to go back. The owner was very attentive
Wonderful food and service!!
The food was excellent and the service top notch!
Great. Loved it
As a NYC bred Italian, I can say with confidence that Bonaroti is among the best Italian restaurants in the region. While not offering exotic and novel cuisine, their offerings are first rate. Especially noteworthy are the daily seafood specials. The menu and specials offer a wide variety of styles and would met the tastes of almost any diner.
Never fails to please. Interesting salad specials are always a delight.
Meals were OK. Ceser salad lacked taste and was too watery. Calamari, shrimp, crab meat and scallops over linguini consisted mostly of calamari and was disappointing. The rum cake was dry and also was very disappointing.
Atmosphere was pleasant and service was good.
My only concern was that there seemed to be confusion about our reservation. When I arrived the young lady at the reception could not find it and yet my party was already seated. That worked out. Our servers were excellent and amazing how he knew all the specials by heart and there were several.
It had been years since we had a dinner at Bonariti's, but the food and service was just as good as we had remembered.
The food was fantastic, the ambiance was perfect and the service was top notch! I can't stop talking about this gem with my husband. We were there to celebrate a birthday and they took amazing are of us. I can't wait to go back!
The restaurant has wonderful food, great atmosphere, and superb service. The owner, Sergio, is a great restaurateur in every way. You will feel "at home" on your first visit and Sergio will remember you after a single visit! I have tried several dishes. All appetizers are great. As for main courses, I found the Osso Buco, the house specialty, simply superb. But we have tried the Sword Fish, Lasagne, and Salmon -- Delicious! The desserts are homemade; the Tiramisu' is great and the Sherbets are natural and flavorful. The Caffe' Macchiato is the test I use to grade an Italian Restaurant -- Here it is made exactly the way you would find it in Rome or Venice! I have recommended this restaurant many times, so I would encourage anyone to visit it and enjoy everything about it -- BUON APPETITO!
Not the best dining experience...the owner argued with me when I told him I asked for salad without egg, then he brought it back with just chicken and spinach :/ also it took them 30 minutes to take our order...not impressed.
We went here for a birthday celebration. Great ambiance, great menu and special selections. Bread, olive tapenade, sun dried tomatoe bruschetta all feasted wonderful. Potion of the entrees are decent, but the potion of the appetizers are kind small. Deserts such as tiramisu and cannoli were delicious. This was our first time here, we definitely will come back. Highly recommend!
Every aspect of the special luncheon was outstanding. The swordfish was delicious, and the service was splendid.
Every visit to Ristorante Bonaroti is outstanding.
This place is awesome and the owner gives attention to every detail. Food, ambience and service are the very best in the Northern VA area.
Very good food. First off was two types of bread: focaccia and a sliced baguette. You not only get butter but a nice kind of bruschetta, some olive oil mixed with a bit of balsamic, and lastly, a type of black olive tapenade. Fantastic. I had veal saltimboca. Very nice. They actually had an Amarone on the wine list for less than $100... for less than $90... at a fine restaurant! Amazing! Was a nice wine. Waiter corked it up to go once finished. Next had the rum cake for dessert... delish. Waiter was very professional. We pregamed at the bar, which was completely separated from the dining room... very smart. Had 18 year old MacAllan, so no complaints here. We’ll definitely be back.
Condescending waiter and average food. Mussels appetizer was scary with mussels that obviously were not fresh. Nothing particularly wrong with any of the other food ordered but nothing special about it either. Had high expectations and was looking forward to this place but will not be back.
Exceptional service and attention from the owner and his staff, and the meals are excellent as always here with its unique touch from Bonaroti that makes a delicious difference. Bonaroti's our Italian place to go in the DC-VA-MD area for my partner and me without hesitation no matter what.
The food is always excellent and the service is simply phenomenal. The staff is very accommodating and attentive.
Been here numerous times and never disappointed delicious meal with exceptional service. Sergio is always available and checks on every table. Always makes for a well paced, fine dining experience
Sitting at the bar and ordering from the bar menu was a perfect casual evening. The smaller portions were perfect for us.
It had been years since I last dined here and honestly had forgotten how good the food is.
I’ll be back!
I had not eaten here in over 20 years. I remembered that the food was excellent from years ago and we wanted some good, authentic Italian food. We were not disappointed; everything was delicious. The house red wine is excellent as well.
As always awesome!
Great food, very extensive menu and wine menu, excellent service. We’ll be back!
While the food was good, the wait staff is almost like watching the circus. They constantly trip all over each other and run from table to table. Our waiter was in the middle of telling us the specials, then shouted out to another table and walked away. The bread was stale, the salad was odd but the entree was good. I don’t think I will go back.
The food was pretty good but our server was rude. We were seated without menus and he seemed put off that we asked for them. He also made several other indications throughout the evening that he thought we were making absurd requests or asking stupid questions. The food was decent, so it may have been a whole different experience with a different server.
Food was excellent, as usual, and service was top notch. It is a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Been favorite of mine for 10 years
Had heard a lot about Bonaroti and thought it was about time to give it a try. It was an uneven experience. The food was very good. We both started with the cream of asparagus soup. It was very tasty. My wife enjoyed her Vitello Alla Florio, and I found the Linguini Frutti de Mare OK but for a special, not outstanding. There was an abundant amount of sea food but the white sauce was somewhat bland. The chocolate cake that we split was very good. It was definitely chocolaty but not overpoweringly sweet. The cappuccinos were good and stayed hot all the way through. What made the experience uneven was the service. Neither when the soup nor the entrees were served we offered ground pepper. In addition, when the dessert menu was brought out, we ordered the cappuccinos. They were served, but our server did not come back to ask us about dessert. The Maitre d' walked by our table and, seeing us judiciously sipping our caps, asked if we were interested in dessert. I asked a question about the chocolate cake. Several minutes later, out server came back with a cake to show us what it looked like.
We never felt rushed, even though the place was doing a booming business. We finished our meal around 8:30 and people were still being seated. The tables are very close together with just enough room for the wait staff to maneuver through. I felt the wine list was a bit pricey.
Great food and outstanding service.
Always the very best of the best. Not to be missed.
Great restaurant. Food was outstanding. Service was impeccable. All of the staff was helpful. Heartily recommend this restaurant.
The service is exceptional and the food delicious. One of our all-time favorites.
Have always enjoyed this restaurant. The food is very good and the service was timely and considerate.
Never disappointed when we dine at Bonaroti. We had a variety of dishes, from veal to seafood to pasta. All were top notch. Even the picky kids enjoyed their meals. Waiter was a bit pushy but the owner made his rounds and made us feel like his special guests. Highly recommend this spot for a quiet, traditional, romantic meal. Especially enjoy the low decibel level. You can actually speak to your table mates without shouting!
Once again, every person at Ristorante Bonaroti observed the highest standards in all aspects of the dining experience. They always aim high, and always succeed.
Excellent food, service and ambient. Very friendly staff.
A group of dear friends met for my birthday dinner at the Risrorante Bonaroti. Sergio and his staff did not disappoint. The wine, appetizers, entrees, special orders, and amoretto were absolutely nothing short of spectacular! For a special night, either with family, friends, business,or romance, Bonaroti is a must! I highly recommend it.
Excellent service/ambience the food is very good not great. Temper my review with the fact that I grew up in NYC. For NOVA it is excellent
