We visit restaurant couple times a year. Food and service are always exceptional.
The service and ambience were very good, but the food wasn't. It was good the first time we went there, but the service wasn't. So kind of hit or miss.
Very nice place for a romantic evening. The environment is very cozy, with warm colors, decor, and lighting. The service was fantastic - my glass of water was never empty, and we never had an empty bowl of bread because the servers continuously monitored and checked up on us. The food was very good, but certainly not the best Italian food I have had. The tables are a little bit close together, so if you are handicapped or not confident on your feet, I would request a table with more room/space around for walking. Overall, I had a very nice experience at this restaurant.
Always a pleasure to dine here. Sergio is the ultimate host.
Great food, great wine, amazing staff and an owner who is there mingling amongst the guests and helping out with orders, delivery of food.
Overall, just a great evening!
Always the Best. Never been disappointed. Upscale yet unpretentious. A true delight.
delightful evening, superb food. thank you bonaroti
Always great food and service.
The food was very good as ususal and the service was excellent as always.
As always - wonderful dining experience with impeccable service and delicious food. From the freshly made pasta to the Osso Bucco. All was wonderful. Thank you Sergio and BJ!
established in 1982, it just needs some renovation and updating. Its buried in a strip mall, so not so attractive...entry to the side in parking lot. Once inside, its dated. You forget all of that at some point because the food is authentic and fantastic. great owner and friendly service. top notch. the atmosphere was not great ... it looked and felt 40 years old. i hope they put some money in it to modernize...its the best Italian restaurant around!!
This is a great restaurant and has a great reputation. The food is always amazing without question. My only complaint was the bickering between the staff. The bus boys were getting picked on by the waiter and the bus boys and waiter were getting picked on by the Big Boss. You can correct someone, but don't do it openly in front of your customers. It happened multiple times. I felt so bad for the bus boys that I approached them separately and gave them words of encouragement.
My wife and I love Ristorante Bonaroti and have been coming her for about 20 years. From the time you walk in you experience a warm, comfortable ambience and are treated with respect and pleasing attention. The service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. The menu contains countless choices of authentic Italian cuisine then to make your decision harder they present you with over a dozen dinner specials. Save room though, as the desserts are great. After dinner (or before) grab a drink or two in the small yet impressive bar which has a very friendly bar staff.
Great restaurant - food was very, very good. Wine list very satisfying. Four friends meeting dinner, wine. We highly recommend and will definitely return.
Great food. Not too busy for a Sunday night. Awesome location if you are planning to head to Wolf Trap afterwards for a concert.
What a great dinner! See the owner taking care of the costumers is a win. We share a delicious wine at the end of our dinner, food on point, we are definitely come back.
We had a wonderful meal while in the area. Would certainly visit again if in the area
We dine here for special occasions and when we have guests in town. The food and service are both always exceptional.
Ristorante Bonaroti meets the highest standards in all catgories -- that was so on this occasion, and happens every time.
Happened across this on OpenTable and made a reservation-Yumola! The food is absolutely authenticity ITALIAN. NOT mass produced! Upscale but not uppity - although I wouldn’t wear jeans and a t-shirt - this is a place for “dining out”. Incredibly notable menu and the homemade bread basket they brought to the table never went empty. Many of the waiters are Italian as well. Old school in the very best possible way. A complete Vienna neighborhood gem - we will be back.
Dinner for a birthday celebration.
Food was excellent. The Ceviche with octopus was a bit hit. The veal chop special was exceptional.
Sergio, as always, is an excellent and impeccable host. Thank you again for another wonderful experience.
I really like to dine at Bonaroti. One of my family favorites.
This is a traditional Italian restaurant with good food and very good service. We enjoyed the white tablecloths. The bar looks inviting, and does carry the full menu. We tried the fish specials, rockfish and halibut, and the sauces were very good, while the fish was tasty but a bit dry. I would try the veal next time, as these traditional dishes sounded very good. The main dining room is not large, so I recommend reservations.
A level of service that I rarely find anymore. My wife and I were taken care of at just the right level. Attentive but not overwhelming. The food matches with every dish a delight. Even the end of the meal comes with a bit of biscotti at the end. We try and go every time we are in that area.
As always, the food and serve were first rate.
Sergio and team always do a fantastic job. Service is excellent and the food is great. Try the Osso Bucco after a salmon carpaccio starter. Mixed with a great red wine, you will leave very happy!
A table for 8 celebrating a special birthday and it couldn't have been a nicer, more personal setting to enjoy good company, good food, and superb service! Thank you to all at Ristorante Bonaroti's! We'll be back!
This restaurant is a must! The food is delicious, the service impeccable, and the wait staff and owner are superstars. I always enjoy dining here and very much appreciate the one-on-one attention. It is great for lunch and dinner and the price points are competitive and reasonable.
Overall a wonderful experience. We had a large party and so ended up at a nicely arranged table in a back room. Service was exceptional and the menu had more than enough variety for everyone to find something they enjoyed.
The service was responsive. The food was very good. Lots of variety of foods. Lots of fish options. They kept the water glass full. The bread was good.
Overall a great meal. Having tried multiple Italian restaurants in the DC area, this one is definitely one I will come back to. The Fruti di Mare was excellent as was the burrata. All the dishes looked great and the service was fantastic.
Top quality in all respects. Ristorante Bonaroti is always tops.
I have eaten here once before years ago - back then it was dark and food was just okay. I returned for a quick dinner with a friend and nothing much has changed. Mind you we were probably the first diners to be seated for the evening. Waiters don't seem to have much training in greeting the guests. Person that seemed to be "in charge" wasn't much different. Restaurant is dark inside and not welcoming at all (too dark, what are you hiding) and nothing has changed. Doesn't seem to have investment back into the dining area. Staff doesn't look happy to be working there and stand around huddled. Everyone seems to be walking around with no real purpose. We arrived for dinner and were given the "Bar Menu" and the "Regular Dining Menu" - both were equal in length and very similar - doesn't make sense and makes the diner feel like your kitchen would rather serve from the Bar Menu (again, doesn't make sense). This alone was not a great impression. The bread was cold and stale. The food seems to be microwaved - doesn't taste very fresh. So much sauce on our plate that it was difficult to really taste your pasta and veal (it could have chicken for all we know). It was just drowned and again you can tell when your white/creamy sauce is microwaved. Our area now demands that owners/chefs take pride in their restaurant - just because you have been around for years does not mean you can get comfortable. Seems like our local restaurants are struggling and making all profits from their bars and not really on the food. Sad decline really. This restaurant has the potential to be great... but much needed overhaul is overdue.
Excellent in all dimensions--great food and service.
Great experience with Sergio and his team. Exceptional food and perfect service. We’ll be back soon
I needed a restaurant near the Wolftrap Filene center. I found this on Open Table. This is serendipity. The food and service were outstanding. The red sauce was very close to my mother’s recipe. (Brought back a lot of memories).
I would highly recommend for dinner. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth the indulgence.
Ristorante Bonarati is the place to go for high-end Italian. The service was outstanding; the food was delicious. A great place where you are not rushed. As a first timer, this was truly an unexpected pleasurable dining experience. It is on our very short "go-back often" list. I saw a few people wearing t-shirts and shorts, however, this place deserves the courtesy of better dress from its customers.
Ordered a dish and it was so salty. They said they make it again but instead of making it again , they washed down the food I ate before. Nothing was added to the dish so it had no flavor at all! Very disappointed! They didn’t even offer to not charge! Pasta was over cooked and no flavor what’s so ever!
Waiters were rude! Ruined my special occasion!
Wonderful experience. We will be back!
