Ristorante Bartolotta - Wauwatosa
When it comes to fine dining, Bartollota's never disappoints.
The carpaccio melted in your mouth.
The wine paired perfectly.
It's not necessarily a steak place, but my filet was the best I have had in years - done perfectly, delicious, just the right size.
Duck ragu was fantastic, we had fun cocktails and a great night out!
Always an amazing meal and experience.
Excellent attention given to needs of customers. When dining there on Mother's Day, I was going to fold my coat and use it to cushion my lower back(due to back problems). The manager immediately gave me a rectangular pillow that was perfect for the lumber area when I leaned back on the chair.
Truly one of my favorite restaurants! Great selection of food, everything prepared perfectly. The service is impeccable! Always a great experience!
We came to Ristorante Bartolotta to celebrate Mother’s Day.
The service was was very uneven (and very unlike a Bartolotta restaurant). Even when it was better it was not very good. It was a big disappointment to my wife. She was ready to get up and leave.
We had a lovely Mother’s Day Brunch.
The restaurant is a little too packed, not suitable for going with family especially young babies. The staff was cordial but the food was very disappointing. Mother's Day event I expected the food to be great especially for the price tag.
We were seated promptly upon arrival and enjoyed attentive service and great food and wine. A bit noisy with large groups nearby however our small table was somewhat buffers by a nearby drape. Food is always good quality and portions reasonable. This is our special occasion choice as well as a place to enjoy on any day as a treat!
Arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation. We waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. There were tables that were open for seating when we arrived. Another couple - arrived late to their reservation - several minutes after we did and they were seated immediately. When I asked the hostess why, she replied that they had specifically requested that table and that they were celebrating an anniversary. We frequent this location about 12 - 15 times annually. No apology, no offering of a glass of wine while we wait to be seated...poorly handled in our estimation. The food is always consistent, of top quality and amazing with flavors. Maybe the wait staff knows this and doesn't care about their customers. BTW...we were celebrating my wife's birthday.
We had a fabulous dinner for our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary. Our server was attentive and offered great wine recommendations. We loved the calamari, and the filet was done to perfection. Highly recommend for a date night or anniversary.
One of my favorites that never disappoints. I highly recommend this restaurant, it is the best Italian in the metro.
Anniversary dinner. The Calimari was very tender and delicious. My seafood dish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I ate every bit of it! The Tiramisu was rich and perfect without too much sweetness or espresso; perfect!
The wine suggestion, right on!
Have been a long time customer of Bartolotta’s but in the past two visits we’ve received grilled entree’s that are grossly over cooked (two visits within a 5 month span). Someone needs to train the grill station what medium looks like. The pastas and wine selection is always amazing but now will shy away from anything else in the secondi section of the menu.
2nd time in 6 mo that service has been subpar from past and from other restaurants
Drinks were small and over priced. We were supposed to have two waiters for a large group and had only one who seemed way too busy to serve us. Had to keep asking for water. Very cramped seating, noisy. Food was good, but small portions for price.
Dinner with friends. Everything was great. We had the beef carpaccio, salad, salmon, duck ragu, filet, three different desserts. The steak eater in our group said it was the best he ever had. Service was spot on. Too bad I left my gift certificate at home. I guess I will have to go again.
All around excellent experience as usual. The flagship Bartolotta's never disappoints. The only slight downside was that the noise was a bit much for conversation, although it tapered off after the Sat rush. Carpaccio, Seasonal salad, Duck Ragu, roasted chicken, wine and 2 desserts (flourless cake, budino) - so great!
Delicious food food and wine, along with great service. From the reservation to the wait staff, it's one of our favorites in town.
We were so disappointed as this had been one of our favorite places. I had the seafood entree and the cook was off on all but one of the proteins. The service, which is normally outstanding, was terrible this time. We were never asked how our meal was, they never re-poured our wine, and they were not very observant even though it was not busy. We are long time Bartolatta fans, but this was a major disappointment.
We were celebrating our anniversary and as always Bartolotta restaurants do not disappoint!
I was rather disappointed. We haven't been here for a while and was really looking forward to it. When I set up the reservation and specifically indicated that it was my husbands birthday, and was the one to pick this restaurant. The service was ok and I say only ok, because we were in no hurry, but everything was served to us very quickly, we were barely able to enjoy one part of the meal when the next was arriving. Then as we were leaving they told us to wait and then in a to go bag brought my husbands birthday cake! Won't go there again!!
We enjoyed Easter Brunch and everything was wonderful. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. It was nice to have a choice for all courses. The only thing I didn't care for was that parking was difficult in downtown Wauwatosa with all of the construction. One of my favorite places to dine.
The Bartolotta team was very accommodating for a party of 9. Service was attentive and excellent. The quality of the food was what we had expected when the reservation was made. Exceptional quality. We all enjoyed our brunch courses and had a wonderful time. Thank you!
The seafood grill was horrible. Fish was very fishy and over cooked, scallops were very salty and shrimp was just ok.
Salmon was bland
Lobster pasta was nothing special
As always, excellent. We have never been disappointed since of first dinner 25 years ago.
Amazing Chef’s Tasting Menu!! Loved every course and the wine pairings were perfect! Juan has outdone himself! Ashley was fabulous behind the bar.
I went to dinner here for date night on a Wednesday, both of us having never dined here before. The restaurant was moderately packed and the noise level was moderate in relation to the crowd. We had no trouble hearing each other at the table for two near the restrooms.
We ordered carpaccio (delicious and light), duck ragu pasta entree portion (good texture, rich, a bit salty), and grilled seafood (delicious). We also shared tiramisu and the pudding desert. Both were excellent, as were our beverages throughout the evening (cocktail, soda, coffee).
We used some holiday bonus coupons and a gift card to lower the bill a bit. We enjoyed the restaurant and would return even without these discounts.
The food, as always, was very good. However, we believe the value was not there. We eat at other restaurants where the value is as good or better, with a much lower bottom line. The wine was pricey too. Can't do this restaurant very often - too expensive.
I ordered the duck and found it to be extremely salty. Only ate part of it (we we're very hungry & I dreaded waiting to get something else, while my husband ate). Asked that an unsalted portion be boxed for me to take home, but that was still quite salty!
I highly recommend the"POLLO AL MATTONE ". It was so good I briefly considered ordering another entree... just outstanding.
We were given a gift certificate to Ristorante Bartolatta's for our 50th wedding anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised by the way the staff helped us with any question we had about the menu. They were knowledgable, friendly, and attentive. The meal was tasty and presented as listed on the menu. The meal was a celebration for our special celebration.
Food- delicious!..., should've ordered the large though. Bartender was great! Servers were friendly, but not as attentive as they should have been for this caliber of place. Spending lots of $, shouldn't need to ask for coffee refill, or remind of our drink order.
The service was really poor, slow, inattentive. I normally get such good service it was a shock. In addition we all ordered capuchino’s and they were all cold and the hot chocolate was not hot. Everything else was still good just dampened the bday celebration
We checked in with the hostess and stepped aside to let others check in and that party was seated before us. We had requested a window table and we were shown to one of the worst tables in the restaurant. We requested a different table and did get a window table, but one that was jammed into a corner which made the table nearly impossible to seat oneself. The host made a very snarky remark regarding our table change request.
The service was diffident. Other than pouring the first glass, we had to refill our own glasses. We had to request more water. The restaurant was not that busy.
We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. For decades, they’ve offered a complimentary dessert on such occasions. Our last three visits in the last six months have reflected this same apparently new policy. Other fine dining establishments we frequent still offer this perk.
We have had three poor experiences in the past six months here. Three strikes, they are out.
Amazing find as we traveled to and thru Milwaukee. I will make sure I return when back in town.
Delicious as always! Love this place. The food, the wine, the atmosphere...all top notch!
Went here on a date with my wife. Samuel and Nick were our waiters and they did an exceptional job! Sam's recommendations were wonderful. GET DESSERT! The salted caramel pudding is heavenly. Overall a great place for special occasions.
Food and service were excellent although my husband and I felt a little rushed. We are familiar with this restaurant and know it is small but on this particular occasion it felt a little more cramped and noisier than usual.
Excellent food, as always. Waitstaff was helpful and readily available when we needed anything.
