Ristorante Bartolotta - Wauwatosa Ratings and Reviews
Newish to Milwaukee Dining Scene:
We recently moved back to Milwaukee and decided to celebrate the move back at Ristorante. The service was excellent. My wife and I️ were not crazy about how tight the table spacing was, and found the food to be in between “ok” and “good”. Not sure if this is the best Milwaukee has to offer for Italian but we did love our wine so we are willing to give it another try.
Pro Tip: eat at the bar
This quaint restaurant provides the perfect venue for a special occasion. The food is exquisite and the service friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and romantic. We have been here on several occasions and the food and service are consistently wonderful!
Food was good but just decent. Service was extremely poor. Waited at least 15 mins before we were served water and greeted at our table after being seated. Confused about who our wait person was and the person who appeared to be the assigned server did not seem to be overly concerned with providing service.
The food was spectacular; the best, most delicious gluten free pasta I’ve had. Hubby’s strip steak special was ... chewy and underwhelming. Our servers, Nick and Samuel, were amazing and attentive and helpful. Really noisy because people tried to talk over the music - good music, just too loud. Why is this? All in all a lovely evening. We will return.
Dinner with my daughter and son in law, another great meal once again.
Service was spot on! Everything from drinks, to appetizers, main course, espresso and dessert were delicious. New seasonal soup option and pasta option were delicious, first day of serving I believe.
Never disappointing always a treat, i'll be looking forward to another visit soon!
Great food, our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, and quick to offer suggestions. We had never been to this restaurant and the experience was pleasant. It was a little hard to hear each other at times, and the parking is truly a challenge, but we're glad we spent a birthday here.
My wife and I went here in a date and loved experiencing a Bartolotta restaurant for the first time. Our service gave us space which allowed us to experience the ambience. The food was fantastic and something very different for is to try. The wine that was suggested was very pleasant.
I would highly recommend Ristorante Bartolotta.
Service was not what we expect from a Baralottas restaurant-service was off all night and food was good, but over cooked, which is something again you do not expect from a restaurant of this caliber-disappointing-maybe Baralottas is spreading themselves to thin these days
We had a very mixed outcome here.
Out waitstaff (Payam and Tony) were outstanding.
My wife's dinner and my mother's dinner were almost inedible. The octopus was burnt to a crisp and just tasted of burn, ruining the rest of the dish. My steak was very good. The appetizers and desserts were well done.
The space was very tight and as it filled up, the noise level rose to make conversation difficult.
One of the worst dining experiences. There were 7 of us celebrating a holiday get-together, and we were crammed into a table like sardines. It was obvious that the server wanted us in and out. We had to ask her twice to explain the specials before she did. When we asked for a second bottle of wine, her answer was, "Oh, that's our last bottle -- want something else." One of the diners ordered a small portion of Gnocchi -- cost $45!! Overpriced - ridiculously overpriced. The price for 2 scallops was also overpriced. All of us dine out frequently and enjoy good food. We have had far superior meals at other restaurants in Milwaukee for a far less price. It was a great disappointment.
I always love exploring the wine list and menu dello chef at Ristorante Bartolotta but the holiday lunches are my absolute favorite. Consistently delicious, fun, and just special. The zuppa, uovo, and mango mousse were ordered at the recommendation of our server and did not disappoint. Zuppa was perhaps a little sweet for my taste but enjoyable, the uovo is heaven, and I wouldn't have ordered the mango mousse had the server not suggested it but it was incredible, not too sweet, and topped with mango slices and a gooseberry. My husband had the reliably good caesar salad, risotto with truffles, and tiramisu. We both enjoyed a glass of the red blend - only $6. Can't wait to do this again next year!
