Excellent food with creative flourishes for traditional faire. Very good service. Nice wine list. Very friendly staff.
Again, great food, fine service and excellent bar/drinks. This is the place fir authentic italian food and well made drinks. Dessert is a must!
We had an exceptional evening. The wait staff were extremely friendly and responsive. The food is extraordinary.
Food & service were great as always, and on par with the quality that Bartolotta's has established across their portfolio. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good, simple Italian dinner!
The best chef around.
Birthday great 70 th
Great place / food always excellent, great service and a relaxing place to spend time.
Both the cuisine and service were outstanding. Probably the best Italian food that I've had. We drove nearly 70 miles for this meal and it was more than worth the effort.
Bartolatta's never disappoints.
Food was amazing. Service was great!
Perfect for Valentines Day!
Food was overpriced and mediocre at best and we were placed at a table less that a foot away from the people next to us.
We had not dined here for many years. The quality was excellent and the dishes creative and approachable. Good cocktail and wine list. Exceptional server. Seasonal specials that added to the variety. A very quaint and cozy place -- the only "downside" is the seating is a bit tight. Will definitely return to this neighborhood gem.
Dinner here get's a "10/10 would recommend" from us-- not only was the staff helpful and friendly, with great suggestions on what to order, but the food was the best I've had in years. The ravioli was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious, as was the duck pasta: the homemade noodles were soft and light, and the sauces and flavors were rich but not overdone. I'd also recommend the salted caramel creme pot for dessert. As an added bonus, wine bottles under $100 are half-off on Mondays and Tuesdays, so you can really go all out without breaking the bank. Bartolotta has a cozy atmosphere, so whether you dress up or keep things more casual you'll feel right at home. We came for our anniversary, and left eagerly awaiting the next special occasion that warrants a return visit!
It was very busy - big bday party and many celebrating v-day so wait was long even with a reservation- but they gave us prosecco as an apology- which was nice. Food was delicious and they were so thoughtful to give my daughter a dessert for her birthday. Was a very nice dinner to celebrate her birthday, she felt very special- Thank You!
I miss Chicago, and it felt like a couple of my favorites from there. Great place
Ristorante Bartolotta is always a great choice for a special occasion. The ambiance is wonderful: small, authentic Italian restaurant. I would recommend getting reservations. Superb wine list, excellent dessert menu and they always have great specials usually including truffles. We have never been let down and service is excellent.
We had a wonderfully leisure meal, excellent service and food.
One of our favorites!
My wife and I celebrated her birthday on a snowy February night, and we had a nice window table. The restaurant is not large, and our waiter was very good. The salads , main courses, and dessert were very good. They have a huge Italian wine list, and it was a half priced bottle night, which was a real value. Our waiter brought us a tiramisu dessert for my wife for her birthday--very nice!
The ambiance stood out to me the most- perfect dinner date scene. We went for my boyfriend's birthday and enjoyed a night different from our typical restaurant scene. The snow outside, lights across the roads and the setting in the restaurant made for a fairytale date night. I wasn't as impressed with my entree, although my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his, as well as both of the beers he tried. Service was prompt and professional. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale dinner date!
I’ll keep this one short: everything, as usual, was perfect.
Went for an early Valentine’s date. Food was spectacular. Noise level was a bit loud, but no trouble hearing my date.
Second time dining at this restaurant (and I am from out of town!). Highly recommend. Very good food, wonderful staff and great ambiance. Added bonus was the aria singer on Friday night! Go....thank me later:-)!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner on our anniversary. Service was excellent.
We were having an early birthday celebration for my husband. We didn't realize that Monday & Tuesdays were 1/2 price wine night. Bonus! Had delicious Rocket Baby bread to start followed by a Caesar Salad and then an app of mozzarella, olives, oregano & tomatoes, MOZZARELLA ALLA PIZZAIOLA, with toasted bread. My husband had a pasta dish that was similar to Alfredo, GARGANELLI ALLA PANNA CON PROSCIUTTO E PISELLI, Pasta quills tossed with cream, prosciutto, peas and Grana Padano. It was delicious but very rich. I had the RAVIOLI DI MAGRO AL BURRO NOCCIOLA, Hand-made ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach; butter, grana and truffle oil minus the truffle oil (do not like anything truffle). It was simple but delicious. We decided to skip dessert but they knew that we were celebrating his birthday so they gave us a TIRAMISU to go including a birthday candle. The best we've ever had. Thanks so much!
We have been coming to Ristorante Bartolotta for many years. It's always consistent and the food is excellent. The bartender on this particular night, when we arrived a little early, was delightful. I had a cocktail and the rest of the party had wine. Great experience.
The meal was excellent and it was a fun evening for our friend who was celebrating his birthday. It's a great place if you want to have conversation without shouting above the noise. The waitstaff is knowledgable the ambiance is very comfortable.
We have dined at this restaurant many times and it’s been nothing short of amazing. Perhaps they were short staffed, but service was extremely slow and w had to wait 20 min to get our reserved table. Food was excellent!
The food is delicious yet the menu seemed to have fewer choices than I remember. I would visit here again for special occasions as it is pricey.)
Excellent all around
The wife and I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is always good, consistent quality and the servers always make sure we're well taken care of. The place itself is charming, really a comfortable ambiance. I've never sent a dish back to the kitchen, your meal is always prepared the way it was ordered. The duck Ragu is to die for, a very unique dish, it's hard for me to order anything else! best food in the Milwaukee area!
I wanted to use a $20 coupon I received in the mail and also take advantage of the Tuesday night half-price bottle of wine special. I was not told by the server at the time I ordered that I couldn't use both. I ordered a $45 bottle of wine but due to some mixup I instead was served a $76 bottle of wine. When I got the bill, I experienced sticker shock. The $20 coupon was not applied and I was charged full price for the wine I didn't order. Apparently the server thought I had ordered the Riserva which was not included in the offer. When ordering the wine, I am pretty sure that I pointed to the wine I wanted in the menu which was not the Riserva. Regardless, since the server knew I wanted the half-price wine special, he could have told me that wine was not included and there wouldn't have been a problem. When the bill came, I experienced sticker shock, a $163 bill when I expected ~$100. After a couple of discussions with the server, he was able to get the bill down to an amount that was reasonable to me. But I left the restaurant with some negative emotions from the unnecessary drama. After working a long day on a Tuesday night, I just wanted a quiet birthday dinner. I have no problem with the restaurant imposing limits and exclusions on their offers, but there is no reason that the server couldn't have explained that at the time I ordered and we could have avoided the unpleasant situation entirely.
