I respect how Bartolotta’s creatively worked through the pandemic with their coursed meals.
I know the company is dealing with staff shortage as well as the beginning of returning diners but my time in restaurants in this world must be better than what I would make at home.
I miss the carpaccio, the duck Ragu and one of the best chicken dishes in the city and I won’t be back until those dishes return to the menu.
This restaurant was absolutely amazing, our waiter was helpful and friendly , the ambience was historic with charm, it felt like a trip back into time in some ways. I love the idea of being taken on a culinary adventure through the various regions of Italy. I thought the menu was very well thought out and the food that accompanied the menu did not disappoint. The food was fresh tasting and the presentation was pleasing. Everything about our experience was perfectly splendid. I can't wait to return to have a taste of Italy.
We were very disappointed that it was a tasting menu. Neither of us wanted a large meal. We had looked online and seen the regular menu and had no idea it was a tasting menu. Service was great as always at a Bartolotta restaurant. Cocktails were excellent, but the menu and food were disappointing.
The Sardegna menu options were not really what we were looking for. Food was acceptable but not outstanding.
Great food and excellent service! The staff was very nice and accommodating.
We did the 4 course Sardinian dinner and it was outstanding. Each course was better than the previous one. Our only comment was that each course came out as soon as the previous one was finished. We felt very rushed. But, we will still go back!
Wonderful meal. Everything done to perfection. Excellent staff. We had a table outside in a lovely enclosed area protected from the sun. They have to do something about the sound. Inappropriate music was too loud and detracted from the total dining experience. Still, we plan to return soon . . . And bring some friends.
Absolutely superb dining experience, from the ambiance to the service and, of course, the exquisite cuisine, Bartolotta didn’t miss a beat. Will absolutely be back, cannot recommend this gem enough!
Did not realize they ONLY have a 4 course option and would not do individual entrees so we only had drinks (which we very expensive.). I realize they have to make up Renee from the pandemic but they just lost a regular.
Impeccable service and food. Each entree was equally amazing. The cocktails were as well. Not to be missed!
The food was beyond our expectations and the service was provided by friendly and knowledgeable people.
Loved the free range chicken it just fell off the bone and had an amazing broth to it. They do a tour of Italy so the menu changes regularly. It’s a great date night place!
Fantastic as always. And the new tasting menu format was delicious
Massive disappointment, particularly for the price. $200 for two- one drink each and fixed price meal. There were four courses, served too closely together and containing too many competing flavors in each dish. Temperature lukewarm. Low quality for the price and ambiance noisy, dated, NOT nice for a date night. Will not return. There are far better Italian options with solid food and nice atmosphere. Disappointing.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Highly recommend for a special night out
Although I enjoyed the prefixed menu, I can't wait for the pre-Covid menu to come back. I miss my Bartolotta favorites
Great service, great atmosphere but the taste of the food was lacking. Sadly this is the third Bartolotta restaurant since the reopening from the pandemic so disappointed in all the taste. Prior to the closing the #1 restaurants in Wisconsin. Hoping things will improve Milwaukee needs excellent restaurants like the Bartolotta group.
Outstanding service and awesome food; really enjoyed the selections of the four courses!
After a16 month hiatus, we were pleasantly surprised to find that bar seating for dinner was available. For over a decade we always sat at the bar and conversed with the affable Natalie, Josh, Mary, Greta, and Peyam bar tenders. Now Peyam is back and so are we. Tables are being added and dividers taken down. The unique Ristorante Bartolotta atmosphere is returning. And oh, did I mention the phenomenal food? We've been to six of the regional menus and loved them all. Especially delicious this time were the porterhouse lamb, stuffed pork neck cutlet, mozzarella in a deep fried pocket, and olive leaf pasta. Also we had a newly arrived reserve Zemmer reserve Pinot Grigio which I read about in the April issue of Wine Spectator. With some oak aging it is fresh and fruity up front, but mellows on the finish versus the typical minerally Pinot Grigio. WS rated it 93!
We went for our milestone anniversary--a special place for a special meal. Their only option was a prix fixe dinner recognizing a region of Italy. Portions are small; selections are well seasoned, attractively presented and tasty. Some choices involve up-charges from the $65 prix fixe rate. There is an adequate wine list, but nothing below $15/glass. Servers were reasonably attentive but not exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. For example, I asked what Cavetelli pasta was and the server had to go ask. I would not say we felt this meal was exceptional enough to warrant the $200-plus tab, but it was a special occasion so no regrets!
My octopus was not good
Pasta was over seasoned
Desert cake dry
I don't like being seated on the second floor. The ambiance is gone.
Ristorante continues to amaze us with a menu that changes every month featuring a differ region of Italy. Come and check out authentic and fantastic Italian food!
Only menu choice is a four course prix fixe. Way too much food for us. One course is sufficient for our taste. There’s a good and interesting range of options within each course but again we sent back more uneaten food than I care to think about. The menu changes as the chef explores various Italian regions. Last night was Perugia. The food is very intensely flavored. I don’t recall being as dissatisfied on previous visits to Ristorante Bartolotta. In fact sitting on the lovely terrace during the pandemic the food was right proportioned, seasoned and prepared thoughtfully.
this was a truly lovely dinner selected from a very interesting menu of the cuisine of Puglia.
This was our second time visiting this gem. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. The pre-fix menu was delicious. Great variety of items to choose from. Very fresh and authentic. The service was first class as well. Our servers were very attentive. The owner even sent over a note for my husband's birthday. We can't wait to go back!!
We have always come here for our anniversary. Always an amazing experience. So much wonderful value for what you pay. We love it!
The food was incredible, the service was great, everything was perfect. It was a wonderful night out!
While I was looking forward to our dinner, I was disappointed in the menu. There was only choice, a 4 course meal for $65. If we would have know that, we would not have gone and as long as that is their menu plan, we won't be returning. Our food was fine, but there were no course options that were appealing to us.
The food is excellent and the staff is fantastic! Bartolotta’s is alway outstanding!
Amazing! Delicious! Fresh ingredients. Authentic. Love the flavor of Italy theme. Incredible service.
We always go to a Bartolotta’s for our birthdays /anniversary’s and are never let down. Always worth it!
The atmosphere was quaint, like a little Italian restaurant you see on travel tv. Food taste and proportions were good except my wife and I both thought the main dinner choices could have been a little more substantial. Like my dish was a fish stew. It seemed to us more like just a soup. But overall a very pleasant experience.
Fabulous dinner once again!
Service and ambience both very nice. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment. Several dishes were good; none outstanding; and two of us had the lamb entree which was almost inedible - very tough and lacking flavor.
Great food, great friendly professional knowledgeable staff,
Wonderful food and service. Beautiful outdoor setting!! We loved it!
We had a wonderful table outside and the service was great but the food was a major disappointment. The pasta dish some of us got was too salty to enjoy, the lamb dish we got was described by our waiter as "the best thing he'd ever eaten" was mediocre at best. My husbands lamb arrived super rare and was still rare after he sent it back to get cooked more. The outdoor patio was wonderful and the wait staff was excellent.
There were three of us for Dinner on Saturday 6/11/21.
We were greeted and sat at the Bar to eat at 8pm.
Scott the Bartender, was also our Server. He explained the Menu and
offered suggestions. The four course meal was Fantastic.
Scott even made us an Ernest Hemmingway Daiquiri for an "after
Wonderful dinner but not much service
The food was delicious. The beverages were amazing. The ambience was romantic and delightful. I loved the idea of having a 4 course meal planned out for us, with a few choices for us to make.
