Ristorante Allegria Ratings and Reviews
Visiting Napa and was recommend this restaurant. My husband and I did not feel welcomed. Sat us in a corner and we only got bread and sat there for 20mins and no one even acknowledged us. Finally requested to seat outside maybe a different vibe. Still the same sat us at a table that was not ready. The server was just want thru the motions. The good was good, but will not go back. My husband and I are in the industry. Sad that the staff assumes that we don't understand good service.
The day of the disastrous Napa fires, we took my 89 year old mother out to one of the families favorite restaurants. We have had numerous wonderful dinners and gatherings... both in the upstairs event area and the vault, I knew she was looking forward to the outing. With everything going on in the Valley , the restaurant team did not disappoint. Thank you. A class act.
We had an 8:00 reservation for 4 people. We showed up early, 45 minutes to see if we could get in. The host was very snobby and rude, saying our table would be ready at 8:00 when the reservation was made. There were so many open tables and she sat tables of three people that walked in with no reservation. I will not recommend this hotel solely because of the rude hostess.
I had the saffron pasta which is what they're known for. It was so bland and tasted like it was reheated - parts of it very hot and parts of it were cold. It was pretty tasteless. They said they serve homemade pasta but I think I can make krafts mac and cheese better than that. Not what I would expect from this kind of restaurant.
The atmosphere is very nice though and the service was great which still doesn't make up for the food.
Went to celebrate a special occasion and although I was pleased with the food overall, our waiter was not personable at all. He seemed bothered by some simple requests that we made to make our night more special. I don't think he smiled once all evening. We even passed on dessert so we could leave early.
Food was good though.
We were disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered the bruschetta for the appetizer which was very fresh and good. Our main courses were bland and only slightly warm upon delivery which was within moments of placing our order. The service was great and extremely fast. We sat upstairs ; the restaurant is very loud.
We had a great attentive waiter. But not overly attentive, as in not hovering. The food was excellent. We split a salad and each had a pasta entree. The waiter was able to make suggestions about both food and wine, since we had never been there. We received a delish dessert with a candle in it for my friend's birthday. It was Cabernet/blackberry sorbet. Comfortable seating. Not too loud, but we were in a corner both. We will return when we return to Napa.
This was my third time at Ristorante Allegria. The PAPPARDELLE ALLO ZAFFERAN has been my go to dish every time and I love it so much! However, this time it didn't "wow" me as usual and I was very disappointed. My husband had the swordfish that was on special and it was good, but I felt like it was a little over cooked. Because I thought it was so great in the past, I'm pretty sure I'd go for a fourth time if I had the opportunity. A nice cozy place in the heart of Napa. We made reservations and got right in!
