Rise Sushi features fresh sushi and sake. Also carry-out, delivery and catering are all available. They only use the freshest ingredients. Never frozen. All fish is delivered fresh daily from the best fishermen in Eastern Canada and the Northern Pacific. Lofty, modern and minimalist, this upscale Asian eatery stands out on casual Southport Avenue. Blond wood tables and lightly finished floors give a spare but comfortable feel. Wire-wrapped lamps hanging above the sushi bar add a whimsical touch; French windows open the place up to the street. Chill at the bar or in the sake lounge while waiting for a table.

Hadn't been to Rise in a long time. Went the other night with a group of friends and it was outstanding - even better than I had remembered. The sushi was so good we couldn't stop eating and ordering. It was so delicious!

Great sushi and great ambiance. The staff was awesome and we gave them the liberty of picking our sushi for us. Great selections, and great options for vegetarians. We actually stayed past close but were not approached to leave. In fact, the staff moved us from indoors (during an 85 degree night for dinner) to outdoors for post dinner drinks (when it got cooler), and made the entire night great for a mini reunion with our friends.

Experience was subpar, though food was amazing. Wait staff was rude throughout the entire evening.

Perfect for a friends night out. Good wine selection. We had sushi, lettuce wraps and a chicken and shrimp dish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Will go back for sure.

We had dinner with friends and they wanted to try this place. We ordered the hamachi Carpaccio. The yellowtail was razor thin and you could not pick it up with the plastic chopsticks (the end of the chopstick was thicker than the fish) I have ordered this same dish other places and it is 10 times larger and thicker. We ordered 4 of the Signature Maki and they all fell apart, as if they were thrown together, hastily. The salmon in one of the rolls was awful, I wanted to spit it out.

I also ordered the special dinner of seared Tuna. The tuna was overdone.

This place has a good vibe and is fun I will give it that. I would stick to the Traditional rolls maybe and get a noodle dish?

We ordered saki and that was good, they have a good selection.

Rise continues to be a solid choice for Sushi in the Southport area. Lots of newer restaurants on Southport these days, but for Sushi Rise is still the best bet.
I only wish Southport were a little closer to Roscoe Village - we really need some good sushi there.

Rise never disappoints! The food is always delicious and the restaurant is not over crowded. I do have to say that we made a reservation and they had to go and set our table when we arrived... would be nice if we were able to sit down right away! Otherwise the service and food were incredible. One of my favorite sushi spots in the city!
