If you looking for good service and good food, Riptide is one of the areas best eateries and bars in town. Just don't ask for dessert. Apparently they were out of dessert on a Friday evening.

I wish I could have eaten here and given a great review, but after making a reservation, I showed up and the restaurant was closed. I understand there was snow but I even checked the website and facebook page and there was no mention of the restaurant being closed. I was in town for business.

The food was not good and was not very warm. The service was terrible, getting drinks was very difficult. Definitely would not recommend this to anyone.

The food was delicious and fresh/homemade, and the service was great. They make their own pasta and have their own crab boats on the bay seasonally. The portion size was rather small, especially the lobster ravioli, which was only 4 ravioli for $22 with no bread served. We made a reservation for 2 and they saved a table for us right by the window with a nice view of the harbor and Sagamore Pendry hotel. There was a little noise from the kitchen, because there is no kitchen door, but it wasn't overly crowded or noisy.

My office went 2 years ago for our holiday lunch and it was GREAT...which is why we decided to go back this year. However, the food wasn't the best. The sea bass was cooked with TOO MUCH butter...one in my party couldn't eat it because of that very reason...she had to order something else. The drink options were limited...and there was only 2 options for dessert.

The Riptide came to us with high recommendations. We thought we would fine a very fine"white tablecloth" establishment and were surprised to find a small little restaurant. The food was fantastic. Order the crab cakes! They were SO TASTY!

I took my mom here 12/2/17 for a birthday brunch and the food was amazing, music was great but it was extremely cold which prevented us from relaxing as I was shivering and had to eat with my coat & scarf on.

Crab cake sandwich tasty but not the same temp in middle as outer layer. Hand cut fries awesome. We were there at 12pm on a Wednesday- easily have a conversation.

We went there for blue crabs and we got them. They put paper on the table, brought out the most amazing crabs, smeared with old bay, along side some hand cut fries and this yummy granny smith apple cole slaw. The crabs were sweet & juicy. So was the slaw.

Bad service- waitress never asked if we wanted refills and never checked on us. Food was subpar and very small portions. I wish I had listened to the bad reviews.

The seafood chowder was outstanding! I also had the crab cakes with potatoe salad. The crab cakes were great but i thought the pototoe salad had too many ingredients. Overall very tasty meal. Soup/Entree/soda- $50 a person including tip

Every time I am in Baltimore, I go to Riptide by the Bay. Their seafood chowder is so good that I struggle to only order a cup instead of a bowl- even when I know it means I'll never finish my entree. YYUUUMMMMY!!!

Overall experience was average. The crab cake was mostly filling and very disappointing. However, it did not say it was lump or back fin so I should have known. Drinks were good and appetizers were a little above average.

We were under the impression it was upscale. But we didn't know it turned into a club. They sat us right next to a loud speaker. We were wanting a romantic date. The crab was Tony. Not worth the money.

Amazing Maryland Crab Soup! Nice service. Quality of food good however did not care for the crab ravioli - did not seem homemade and flavor of crab potato mixture and cheese sauce off. Cheese sauce on top of ravioli, the worst - processed cheese is not what I would expect for $22 a dish.

The noise level is off the charts. If you go, request a table upstairs if you want to have a conversation with the folks you are with. Cocktails and food good; service average.

Spent 55 mins to bring out the food. The portion of food was very small. Over charged price for restaurant week lunch menu.

$18 dollars for two mini crab beignets (1st course, little crab meat with corns) and bowl of seafood bisque (2nd course, with not much ingredients in it), I will never come back or recommend to my friends.

I tried this restaurant with my family on a whim because it had 2 features that I was looking for: it was near the waterfront and offered fresh seafood. It was an additional surprise that the day we ate dinner was the start of restaurant week. The 3 of us took advantage of the restaurant week offerings starting with the Southern Crab Beignets appetizer, then Lobster Ravioli for the entree, and finishing with the Key Lime Crumble for dessert. My mom ordered the same, while my dad went for the MD Softshell Crab for his entree.

All 3 of us were floored by the appetizer - the Southern Crab Beignets could easily be turned into a full dinner and you would not leave disappointed. The Softshell Crab was, again, exceptional. Their crabs are packed with flavor and in my dad's words, "It was the best I ever had." I would agree with that (even though I only tried a small bite). Moving on to the Lobster Ravioli, there was no "exceptional" flavor there. Our server did recommend it and it was still "good" however, you will feel as if the Lobster Ravioli did not meet the standard that the Crab set. Perhaps the lobster just did not have the same inherent flavor as the crab, or there was something missing from the sauce, or the ravioli was overcooked (there was a definite mushy, potato-like texture inside the ravioli, like a pirogi). One last note is the portion size - there were only about 5 average-sized raviolis on the plate, as if it were the size of an appetizer rather than a full entree. In contrast, the Softshell Crab dish was an appropriate size.

The Key Lime dessert was light and had a pretty good flavor. Perhaps due to the small entree size for me, I was unfortunately still hungry after dessert, which was the size of a small juice glass. There were clearly no leftovers at our table, so we went out to a nearby ice cream shop afterwards.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, despite these small snags. If I judged the crab alone, I would rate it 5 stars.
