Rio's in Addison (South American Cuisine)
The food was Fantastic! But the service was slow. Don't go there if you're in a hurry.
The food is very good but the service is so so slow.
Great food every time!
Fantastic food and service. The bartender who was also our server did a wonderful job and anticipated all our needs. There were 8 of us and we all loved the food. Recommend highly!
always a favorite for us. Never disappoints . Don't forget dessert!
First time dining here and would definitely go back. Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed our entire meals, from the ceviches to the steaks and seafoods. The steaks were exceptionally tender and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive.
Missed having the delicious bread and dips. Is that no longer offered?
Terrific food was offset by very poor service, very dim lighting (hard to read the menu!), and a lack of overall management. We went for a special occasion and out of frustration, didn't stay for dessert. On a very busy night, only one waitress was managing all of the tables, and she was new to boot. The fountain beverages that night weren't even ready (needing changing during dinner hours). As much as I'd like to try the other things on the menu, I won't be returning.
We were so glad we finally made it there - we loved the food! From the special bread and sauces they start you with to the appetizer and our dinners (I had the lasagna dish and my husband had the one special chicken dish - just outstanding!
This place is a hidden gem. Amazing and unique food. Their house bread and sauces are absolutely incredible. Definitely worth checking out.
Went for an anniversary dinner. Menu was exceptional with pictures of all the dishes, and the food was very tasty. Will be back to try many more dishes!
Was meeting an old friend and tried to find an interesting restaurant near where he was and Rio's fit the bill. The food was good but definitely not great. The restaurant was dark, not in a romantic way, just underlit, (especially our table). And the service was just really, really slow. There were only a few tables there besides us, so not like they were understaffed and struggling to keep up with the crowd. If just the food, or the ambiance, or the service was better, I'd probably give it another try, but ....
The manager simply doesn’t understood customer service, or understand that a dining experience is about more than just the food. It took them 3 attempts to get my dinner right, the same meal I’ve ordered 10 times in prior visits (a medium steak with grilled vegetables). His attitude was poor, didn’t think it was a big deal that the rest of my party were done their meals by the time my meal showed up for the final iteration, and ultimately disagreed that the dining experience was about more than the food.
It’s too bad, we’ve long been loyal customers, but we won’t be going back
Always great food and good service
What a great experience, the food was fantastic and the music set the mood. It was a little expensive but worth every penny.
Went to dinner on Wednesday night. Place was not full at all, but service was a slower than normal. They also seemed to be skimping on the bread sticks. When you ask for more, they will charge you. They were good so I don’t mind the extra charge, but it does not make for a good customer experience.
I've been to Rio's a few times. Their food is great, very authentic. A bit pricey but they are advertised as fine cuisine so it is to be expected I suppose.
I loved the variety of dishes available with a range of different ingredients making for many good options. I went for a date night and it was a nice place with modern ambiance and low lighting with not a lot of noise.
Horrible service. They sat us 10 min. Late. Then it took them another 20 min to serve drinks for 4 of the 8 people. Then another 15 min for bread we asked for. Then we had to ask to order food. After 3 hours of horrible service, we had to ask for the bill, which they charged a 20% gratuity on.
We are truly sorry about the experience you had at our Addison location. Rio's take complaints very serious as we care about our guest. Reviewed the table and track it from your reservation, we set you up on the patio for a party of 8. The guest were arriving at different times we served the drinks going back and forth as they arrived. Reviewed the cameras with servers, he did check on you consistently, truly sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We'll work harder to improve it, thank you!
Rio’s is amazing in every respect. The service was second to none and the food is authentic and outstanding. I very much look forward to returning soon.
The food was authentic and tasty. I have been there twice recently and the taste of the food was not as consistent as at my first visit. They ran out of the main chicken entre. Still, it was good enough for me to give it another try, this time with a few friends.
The food is amazing - however every time we've been to Rio's the service has always been terrible. We would make this our once a week spot if the service was better because the food is always so good.
We love the place, the food is unique and delicious. Many options for vegetarians.
I've been to Rio's many times and have always enjoyed eating there with friends.
The food speaks for itself, great flavor, great taste.
The service finds the right balance of being attentive but not interruptive.
What a wonderful find! The menu is so diverse. We had the Wonton de pato duck bacon appetizer which everyone wanted more.
The entrees were amazing in flavor and portions were just right (Arroz con Mariscos, Pescado a la Macho and Parrillada Casera Steak). We were so full we could not have dessert.
The service was perfect and we never felt rushed. The drink menu looked interesting and want to try it on the next visit
Cannot wait to return to try the other items on the menu.
I'd absolutely recommend this place! I am a big fan of South American cuisine, as I have traveled and lived through Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Peru. Very delicious dishes, healthy portions. Very clean inside, warm and accommodating staff, and lovely decor. Had a really great time with my guest, first time we met and Rio's Addison helped cement together a thoroughly lovely experience. Take a chance on this place! I see myself returning to try more dishes.
The food here is amazing. We’ve been here numerous times and have never been disappointed with the food. However, the service is something they could definitely improve on. While waiting for our table, we decided to get a drink at the bar. I don’t think there was a dedicated bartender since it looked like the servers were making their own drinks. After about 10 minutes, the busboy asked if we were waiting on a table. We told him yes and we were wanting to get some drinks while waiting. He had to flag down a server to get our drink order. It just appeared that the servers were in their own world and that there wasn’t a manager on the floor. We will still come back for the amazing food, just hoping they get their staffing sorted out.
My husband and I tried Rio's for our 7th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. From the live music to the ambiance to the amazing food, everything was wonderful.
Food and service were great. Loved the live music, they even sang happy birthday to our friends. Very friendly place.
Rio's is one of our favorites. They have a great selection on the menu including vegetarian dishes and many unique South American specialties. We've tried many different dishes and have never been disappointed. The Ceviches are outstanding and they have the best chimichurri anywhere. We've been trying to copy it at home for a couple years now. The serving staff is also very good and we have always been thrilled with our experience here!
We LOVE this restaurant. Very unique flavor combinations and a wonderful menu! Can’t wait for a chance to get back there!
Awesome! We’ve been there a number of times and have enjoyed it each time.
We always enjoy our meals at Rio's in Addison. The meals are consistently good, the service is efficient and friendly, and the ambiance is very pleasant.
We had a confirmation # from Open table and restaurant did not have it. They sat us, we waited 20 mins and no one waited on us. Others came after us and got service. Asked what was up, was told no reservations we would have to still wait till a waiter was available. WE LEFT!!!!!!
Great spot to take friends to try something new and quiet enough to hold a conversation. The food was good. Empanadas were delicious. My dinner, a South American version of lasagna, was good but not delicious. My husband was disappointed that they no longer serve the chicken dish that he saw on the menu (I think it was a roasted half chicken). The churros we had for dessert were OK. The service was slow, but there was a big group that was monopolizing the bulk of the server's time. Certainly worth trying again. This was only our second time at this restaurant. The first experience was much better.
We are regulars here, always great food. I will suggest better customer service. I had to flag 3 people for chimicurri sauce and my husbands beer, the service was okay but servers need to be more consistent on their tables ..
Great food with taste and seasoning of Peru that was wonderful. Extensive wine list favoring Chile that are worth trying as well. Homemade Flan for desert that is the best. Our server Danill was great and very helpful. Parking can be a challenge as this is in a strip with other businesses. Go anyway. Conversation friendly.
My wife and I love the food here... Great experience everytime we go... Service is great
..nothing but good here
I've been there several times and have always had a good experience. The food is very good and something different for this area. I always recommend it. The only problem is service is sometimes a little slow. This has not been the case every time I've been there and should not stop anyone from going.
Our server was very helpful describing menu options. However, my meal came out cold.
