We went for Easter brunch. We enjoyed the traditional breakfast items, plus made to order omletes. The prime ribs, mashed potatoes, ham, and much more was delicious. The only comment was the salmon was a little dry. It was exactly what I was hoping it would be!
I was truly disappointed in the Easter brunch! I made my reservations for my Family two weeks in advance so they knew we were coming. They sat us at a table in the middle of the room with Nothing on it all the other tables were decorated with salt pepper sauces etc. we sat at the table for 10 minutes nobody came to us we had no idea what to do or how to get started with the brunch. I had to go to the hostess and ask Twice before she finally went and found a waitress the waitress came and said she had no idea we were her table. I had to ask TwiceAagain if we could have salt and pepper and things just like all the other tables. I was very upset that I had to ask Four times for us to feel like we were welcome and wanted. Someone came over and somewhat tried to make up for it and say they wanted us happy so they brought us all Mimosa's even though none of us really wanted them. The first thing I got was an omelette and I guess because they had to go so fast the whole bottom part of my omelette was still half raw. For the price and excitement I had for my girls to be home from college and do this special for them and it not be special was so disappointing!!
We had an 11am reservation for Easter Brunch. When we got through the line to check-in, we discovered that someone had taken our table. The hostess/manager was doing his best to get the situation corrected, but we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. We ended up being put in a corner (two tables being put together to accommodate our party of 5) and then having to search for the manager to let him know we had not been seen by a server after being seated for about 10-15 minutes.
We were disappointed this year by the buffet selections as well. Last year seemed to have a larger selection of items and did not seem to be as "chaotic" by everyone arriving at once. Based on the price of the buffet, we do not feel we got the same value as last year.
That being said, the manager did his best to make up for our bad experience with our table/reservation issue by comping our beverages and then taking 20% off our bill. This is the reason I'm giving a "fair" or "good" rating rather than a 1 star rating.
This was my father and his wife's first experience with Rio Ranch and their Sunday Brunch and unfortunately, it was not a great one.
Enjoyed Sunday Brunch. The food was wonderful. The buffet area really needs a staff member to monitor and clean/wipe up the area for drips, fallen food, maintain better/neater serving utensils and utensil holders. The waiters were very good and love the crispy bacon!
I took my wife for brunch. I have to say the hostess looked overwhelmed. She said "Hi" and nothing else we stayed by the host stand for about 5 minutes till she point us and singed us to follow her, here when I said "I have reservation" very unprofessional hostess. On the the other hand our server was great very informative and the food was great.
Disappointing! Had been to Sunday brunch before and had been delighted with the food and variety. What has happened? Virtually every dish was cold and all six of us complained. The food would have been worthwhile if someone had bothered to keep it warm. The service was spotty. Arrived with a reservation, half the tables empty and the hostess took 15 minutes to work out how to seat six. Too bad. Used to be a fun brunch place.
We had a Christmas gathering for a number of Senior Ladies so ordering took some time. The waitress was so pleasant and agreeable. We had several changes or additions which is difficult but everything came out perfect. The food was great and they had some take homes. Dessert was decadent and everyone enjoyed them. Definitely give them a visit!
Staff was attentive but reservation was not noticed somehow sp no table set up. People who got there ahead of me were seated at a temporary table which invovled waiting for large table to be set up. Food was quite good but service was slow. Staff very nice about letting us sit and visit.
i'm not sure how this place stays open, as we were one of two tables in the restaurant. The steak was good, but their prices are steep and we have so many good steak places in Houston to choose from. Also, the Caesar salad had way too much dressing on it and there were fruit flies buzzing around our food. I won't go back.
The steak salad was tasty, with just the right amount of dressing. The kitchen is run well as the food comes out at the right temperature. I wish they would vary their bread selection a little more, or tweak their recipe as the breads are dry. Otherwise everything else is done well
The food horribly bland with zero flavor. White Gravy tasted tangy. Overall, for the price of $50 per person for an all-you-can-eat buffet, I maybe ate a tenth of my plate because nothing was actually tasted great.
I have very many times for breakfast Monday and for them to have the cost $50 from $15 was ridiculous with the quality served.
If you are located anywhere near Westchase and need a great spot for a business lunch, then the Rio fits the bill. Its location makes it seem like it's a hotel restaurant with a hotel food quality, but it far more than that. They have a nice menu of salads, steaks, chicken, fish and sandwiches. I have tried most items on the menu, all have been good and arrive at the right temperature. This is not fine dining, but business casual dining, and it's better than a chain like Bennigans etc. Service is quick and the staff well trained.
