Rio Ranch Steakhouse
From our scrumptious Sunday Breakfast Brunch to our private dining rooms, Rio Ranch has something for everyone. Rio Ranch is perfect for business dinners, family celebrations, romantic dinners or just a casual get together.
We feature a full service bar, patio dining, a romantic fireplace and cowboy hospitality and service.
After eating several years at Rio Ranch, I was back in town to take my Aunt for her 85th birthday brunch. She selected Rio Ranch and I was initially excited, however, it became disappointment quickly. The service was fair but inconsistent with follow-through and the food was either cold or empty and when asked to get more or when more would come out there was no definite answer. The cost has always been more than surrounding restaurants but the service and quality of the food have met that expectation. I will not at any time in the future return nor would I recommend this establishment to friends or co-workers when in Houston.
The service was wonderful (Emily!). There was a nice variety of quality food on the brunch buffet. I loved the omelette station!
We had a great experience, the food was delicious, and much to choose from, the price was very reasonable. By the time we left we had already decided we would be coming back, the Sunday brunch buffett was plentiful. Very satisfied!!
Thank you so much for the fantastic review. We look forward to having you time and time again!
I had the filet mignon, 6 oz..with the Brussels sprouts. Yummy..cooked excellent. My husband and nephew liked their choices too as there was none left on their plates. Always a nice place to eat. Wait staff and hostess friendly and professional.
Thank you so much for letting us know about your visit with us. It is great to read that you are a loyal guest and our staff treats your right. We look forward to having you dine with us again soon!
No happy hour in the restaurant you have to be in the bar. Ordered shrimp salsa, it was basically a REALLY SWEET Salsa withe a few shrimp and pieces of avocado on on top. Could not finish it was not tasty. Ordered the wings. They on the other hand was delicious. Our Bartender Brandy was wonderful and FAST!!! Always kept up with us and refilled our drinks quickly.
I went for the Sunday Brunch Buffet and I was not a fan of the food. The flavor was very bland and the selections for a brunch were not very good.
I will not be returning.
When we checked in, the front desk could not locate our reservation even though I had made it days ago and had it on my phone. My son had to show them our name on their screen. Then, they sat us at a table with only 7 chairs for a party of 8 with a high chair. We asked for 2 booster chairs when we arrived and even put that as extra info on the reservation. We had to ask 2 more times and then ask a manager to get them. The restaurant was not fully busy at 11AM. Then no one waited on us. After 15 minutes and no one coming to ask what we wanted, I went to the bar to place an order for 3 mimosas. The bartender was quick to respond. Eventually, a waiter was assigned to us and once we got him, he was excellent! Food was wonderful as always! This was not our normal experience when we come here on a Sunday morning. Hostess station was truly subpar.
Wonderful environment for breakfast & fellowship with family. Small or large parties can be accommodated.
The staff was extremely friendly. Charlie (our waiter) even assisted in directions for our Lyft driver pick up.
The food and decor was excellent!
Good food and good service
Been dining here ever since it opened many years ago and every time has been a great experience.
We definitely have a choice for celebration brunch. When our mood is casual Rio Ranch is our “ go to” for quality food and chill room. One can dress up or sundress for Rio Ranch brunch. One of the best Belgian waffles, prime rib and eggs Benedict (truly). A great mix of breakfast, lunch, fresh salads and fruit offerings. Decent deserts offerings. My only negative - friendly service, kind and helpful...simply not too attentive (should not take 30 mins or multiple requests for drinks). Assuming they are understaffed. We will always return.
I made reservations at this restaurant for brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom, nieces and nephew. The greeters were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was so fresh and delicious. I loved the egg and waffle station as the person making the eggs made mine just as I requested. The waitress was very attentive and kept us happy. Looking forward to going back.
The waitress was terrible! We hardly saw her the entire time, we put the card to pay the check and she came to the table 1 time but did not take the card and we didn’t know she hadn’t taken the card we had signed and left the tip on the receipt and we walked out she came chasing us saying we didn’t pay! Had she been doing her job and paid attention she should have known we waited 15 minutes to get the check back so we thought it was done! It was very dead in the restaurant as it was only 9 AM on Sunday so there was no excuse for her to not pay attention!
The food was great and so was the service. Will definitely be going back!
Terrible food. Lousy selection. Hotel food. Our waitress was good.
The steak was not good. It was covered in a greasy sauce and tough. Service was good.
Extremely disappointed with the entire place. I was looking online for a place to have my honey's birthday dinner with family. I chose this place because it was centrally located for everyone. I scrolled through the website and seemed to be a nice steakhouse. When we arrived I was completely disappointed. I made reservations online, we show up and are the only people in the restaurant. Appearance of the place was extremely disappointing, service was poor, appetizer sampler plate we ordered was were burnt and salty and the food was okay, but definitely not worth the price.
Excellent service and great food
Great ambiance. Very quiet restaurant so we were able to talk across the table. Service was spot on and food was delicious! Will definitely be back!
Lunch was fantastic. They provided us with a basket of white bread and cornbread. There was one special for the day but I wish they had a lunch portion and priced menu option. I ended up getting the salmon as it was Ash Wednesday and it was the dinner price. Luckily for me it was grilled to perfection so I had no problem paying for the quality. But it just cuts down on my frequency for eating at Rio Ranch. Overall, great place for a business meeting. Had food options for everyone.
Very good food, but boy the service was sub par. The place was not crowded or a peak time. My reservations were at 8:15 and at 9:15, we still didn’t have our meal. Servers would walk by and not fill water glasses or even update us on the delay. The food wasn’t that good, that I would go back.
Wonderful place great food but with the fireplace on I was still freezing. No heater in that place brrrrrrr
Food was good, our server made it perfect! Ahhh the feel of sharing a Valentine's Dinner with my lovely wife of almost 29 years!
My husband and I ordered the Calamari which was very rubbery. Their food is average and very overpriced.
Absolutely wonderful service and food! Will be back! Made for a delightful Valentine's with my husband!
Enjoyed the all you can eat buffet.
Buffet is the best it feature several variety of foods. Service is amazing.. ideal for family brunch after church.
Ran out of the six things that were set out at the buffet table. No hot sauce, no eggs, dried up pastries...
not a great Xmas lunch.
Delicious office Christmas dinner! The red snapper was delicious!
Booth seats ripped
My hamburger was raw in the middle. Soup was very good. Service was truly awful.
Very impressed with ambiance of the restaurant and food was amazing. Quiet enough to have good conversation at out table. Will definitely come back for brunch.
Filet mignon and mashed potatoes were excellent! Waiter was very enthusiastic and fun with good recommendations.
The restaurant was disappointing. Although there were not too many patrons that evening, the service was slow, and the food mediocre.
Hadn’t been in years. Was concerned when we drove up and very few cars in parking lot and outside lights were off. Went in and it was empty except for one other couple. We were getting anxious. Our serve greeted us and from that point on the evening was a delight. Cocktails and food was wonderful. And since the place was almost empty we could actually have a conversation with out friends without screaming. Don’t know why it was empty but people are missing out.
The most delicious chicken fried steak! But it was WAY overpriced. The rolls were not very tasty and honey butter is not a choice I would make. Service was ok but could have been better considering there was no one in the restaurant. They did not have the reservation.
"Energetic" is a clever way to describe the sound level. It was loud at lunch time so if the plan is for a business conversation, go early or go a little later.
Food is terrific and ideal to share with out of town / overseas visitors to show them a real Texas restaurant. Portions were generous and prices are fair. I look forward to returning soon.
We have not been here since late last year. This restaurant, many years ago, was very popular. The decor is rustic, western, with a beautiful stone blazing fireplace. This is attached to the Hilton Hotel though far from the hotel entry and has its own entrance. We came last night as thought we remembered they had a great chicken fried steak. Saturday night, the place was empty but for one couple and at 9pm, only another table was occupied. John, our staff person, is very polite and caring, but was just about the only person working there. Took long time to get cocktails, 30-40 minutes to get food (empty place) and pork sliders tasted like old meat, heated up, driwn in BBQ sauce, a few shreads of cole slaw atop. Sweet potato fries good. The sandwich that was like a French dip was liked and the regular fries. Salad with chicken was eaten. The chicken fried steak looked like it had been frozen, thawed and cooked. It had been requested to be made with a light batter, but came the opposite. With good marketing, this beautiful place could be a star. Sell it to Tillman and he can "star" it up. This place has to be losing money. It's been open for years. Fix what us lacking in food quality and make this place shine again. We were sad to see this. Thanks to John.
The atmosphere here is cool and the service is friendly. My companion and I both had the rib eye salad. Her rib eye was good but mine was really fatty so I didn’t enjoy the meal that much.
