Great food. The duck tamale was amazing. The Chinese Chicken Salad was unique and highly flavorful. Go here.
Our food was outstanding and one of the best waiters ever!!! Love Rio Grill.
All 4 of us loved the diverse menu and fabulous flavors
Andrew is a great waiter and A GOOD AMBASTOR FOR THE RIO RILL.
Our family has enjoyed and loved Rio for well over 10 years. This visit however will probably be the last. The service was great as always, but the food arrived cold for all but one of us. The kids quesadilla arrived with the cheese not melted. None of us were happy with our meals, it was very disappointing.
My sea bass was dry and not warm. The sides were very small--I was looking forward to the grits and got about 3 bites. Part of our party ordered the mixed grill for $35 and got tiny little portions on a large plate--at the end he said he was still hungry. We probably won't go there again--not a good value.
Met all my expectations. Food and Service were great.
Mother’s 85th birthday Carmel celebration! Great time!! Just as we remembered it!! Loved short ribs and pork chop!!
Love the mussels
Always a delicious supper
Really enjoyed our lunch. Our server, Aaron, was great!
We had a very nice dinner, a sirloin steak special and a half rack of baby back pork ribs between the two of us, plus a side of "cowboy beans" and starting with a shared wedge salad. All were well prepared and tasty. The cowboy beans were a treat -- pinto beans in a spicy barbecue sauce with a generous amount of burnt ends from the grilled ribs. Also a great dessert -- a crisp version of an ice cream sandwich with plenty of chocolate sauce. Altogether, very nice.
great staff and food..the wine list is complete and with local wines...very nice
Wonderful service on a very busy night. Hostess was jammed, but understanding and helpful. Waiter was also excellent. The paella was tasty, potato skins the same, and as I mentioned, the service was outstanding.
we usually have a good experience at the Rio Grill. they were clearly understaffed that evening; waitress disappeared for long periods of time and she focused on a party of 12 next to us. it is a good place for lunch but will no longer go for dinner.
I had the seafood special, barramundi fish. It was cooked perfect. Came with roasted potatoes and asparagus, which were nothing special but tasty. My friend had the skirt steak which was also cooked perfect with a hardy serving of wonderful vegetables. Both meals, especially the steak, we're very good portions.I recommend the ice cream sandwich for dessert. It was easily enough for 2 and delightful! Our service was excellent. Will definetly go back.
Excellent service and food for a valentines dinner!
it's great for celebrity watching.. the artichoke appetizer was to die for.. the kitchen was able to serve the skirt steak that was off the menu. fabulous.. and the dessert..beautifully plated.
our waiter was the best.. it was a special meal.. and on valentines..
It's fine. Decent food. Friendly and decent service. $19 a glass champagne came out flat, sent it back, and second glass came out completely flat too. Was told it was freshly opened bottle, I'm pretty sure it was just the first topped off in the hopes a few bubbles would appear. Below the reputation of the restaurant.
Rio Grill is always a great ! We had a fabulous time there during AT&T. Service is always impeccable and the selection of delicious items offered will allow anybody to find something to their liking! Well done!
Rio knows how to take care of you and their food is always so good!
While food was very good, it took a bit longer to get our food than expected.
Food was excellent and wait staff very attentive. Crowded that night so noise level was a bit high but overall a very nice meal.
The salmon was divine. Service very good. Atmosphere relaxed and inviting.
Celebrating 2 birthdays and an engagement. Had a great time. Chris the server was very good.
Food and service were exceptional. I like the half price wine night
Always reliable, whether lunch or dinner or happy hour. Service generally very good. excellent option for lunch, great salads, easy parking.
Not the menu they used to have. VERY limited selections, but overall good food. Heavy on beef dishes, very little seafood.
Great food and great service. Most of the party had the burgers and it was absolutely outstanding!
As always, really personable service and attention. Food always consistently yummy....
Great! Fantastic! Tasty! Fun!
Another great meal at the Rio, our favorite place to eat when we are in the area. We arrived early for our reservation but were still able to sit right away. Cocktails, server, and food were all great. Its a fun and lively dining area, but not so loud that we couldn’t hear each other. Rare these days. We love playing with the crayons too!
We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday we are a group of walking ladies cancer survivors. Jan. 12, 2018. Our food was good and the service was outstanding one of the best service I've ever received! Everyone was so friendly, warm and very welcoming to us!!! We will be back.
Enjoyed the ambiance.
Very fun and creative. A bit too cold however. They could have turned the heat up a bit.
Food good. Flavor combinations perhaps a bit strange or off . Too many unusual flavors combined -not so good . Tacos and beans both had too many mideastern flavors that did not jive with a traditional Mexican or southwestern flavor. One different spice might have been okay but this had several that set it waaaay off from 'Mexican' flavors anticipated.
Perhaps just not a nice blend of flavors. Too much garlic.
The brisket sliders were tasty. Could have been a bit juicier. Meat a bit dry. Wines very good.
Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio - both nice.
Waters attentive and pleasant making the dining experience much nicer.
biggest issue that the restaurant was tooo cold.
The amount of food provided for the cost was conspicuously minimal. On the list of items for "bigger" kids on the kids' menu was a burger listed as 1/4 pound, for $8 - fair enough. What was delivered was a slider...the diameter of the burger was barely more than a Reese's peanut butter cup, and the burger must have weight about 2 oz. You just can't charge $8 for a basic burger that even a child can eat in 3 bites.
The adult meals were similarly poor values for the cost.
Always a great meal at Rio Grill. It’s been our go-to place when we are in the Monterey Bay Area for at least a few decades! We love the lively, warm and welcoming atmosphere, great artwork and Southwest theme, and reliably delicious food! We always recommend it to friends, family, and whoever asks.
Rio Grill holds a place dear to my heart when I get hungry for Adobe walls and chile. The wine list is overpriced IMHO, and I have enjoyed the empanadas for years. Their food is a good value and well presented.
We were given a window table in quieter area of restaurant and staff had decorated table with confetti since we had scheduled as special occasion. Waiter was attentive and friendly.
Party of six was handled extremely well by staff. Waitress was very friendly, courteous and attentive. Ribs and fries were prepared to everyone’s liking along with the half priced wine on a Monday night!
