Rio Grande - Denver
The Rio features Fresh Tex-Mex Cuisine created in house everyday. We are known for our legendary margaritas and our festive atmosphere. Located just steps from the free 16th Street mall shuttle and a few blocks from both the Pepsi Center and Coors Field. Cheers from the Rio, hope to see you soon!

Horrible service, food way too expensive. We ordered the 6 tacos for $20 and they barely had meat. The only good thing at this place are their margs but that's about it.
Went here for a bachelorette celebration. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks excellent as usual.
Had not been in a few years, and everything has improved!!! Will be back!!!
I would def recommend this restaurant. The waiter was really good we had a quiet area
Food and drinks were great. Service was really slow, which was a bummer because we were HUNGRY! but all and all had a great experience.
Great place for Mexican food in Denver. It can get a little loud on the weekends. The food is excellent. This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food.
The host was not very friendly.
The food was a good value and solid texmex cuisine. The margaritas were VERY good and our server was fantastic: attentive but not in the way, professional but friendly, and generally on top of the situation even though the restaurant was busy.
We had a large group of 16. Reservation process was easy on Open Table, and they were ready for us early. Seating was very close together with different sized tables pushed together. Restaurant was not full ( Sunday afternoon), but our service was still slow. One go around each for drinks, food, then checks. No offer of drink refills or more chips, and no cleaning off of empty dishes until we were paying. Food was good, but merely adequate service will prevent me from returning when there are many other choices in downtown Denver.
Great service and food!
I don’t know about the noise level being “energetic”, it was extremely loud. Other than not being able to hear each other speak, the food was good.
Food was great, drinks were great, service was solid. Will probably go there again.
Wasn't served drinks and walked out after 20 minutes.
Bachelorette night out
I love this place, especially in the summer on the patio. Marinated steak burrito with a margarita never gets old.
Service was great, margaritas were good and the crab and shrimp enchiladas were excellent. The fries rellenos need a bit of work as they were too doughy.
The cooking service space adjacent to outside patio doors is dirty. Scary! There isn’t a door on it. It is a very busy restaurant but the level of cleanliness (e.g. floors around table was dirty with crayons on the floor.)
We ordered 2 a la cart tacos. Both were tiny, dry but expensive. Enchiladas were delicious. Our waiter was nice but he had trouble bringing bar drinks in a reasonable time. I guess the bar was backed up.
We love the decor and location. Please notify them to clean up the place.
Excellent service and delicious food!!! Easy to get to from Union Station too!
Great food as always... noisy but so is everywhere else.
We enjoyed our brunch at Rio very much. The food was great and as always so were the margaritas. Our server was very nice and did a great job. It was not just a Fathers day celebration but also we were celebrating our son's 17th birthday. Thank you
Everything was great!
The moment we walked in were welcome with a smile.
We all absolutely loved our experience at Rio Grande. Everyone in our group (15 of us) had something different and every one of us said our meals were great. The service was quick and very friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
They held a reservation for us when we were caught in traffic, nice staff, great food and margaritas!
Come for the great margs, fun atmosphere, and excellent chips and queso!
My friends and I had a great time. Food came to our table luke warm not hot. Kind of a disappointment.
Went here for lunch before a Rockies game. Great service and the food was wonderful. Definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood. Book ahead on game day, as they are very busy
Great drink prices and an extensive tequila menu. The queso and quesadillas were great; the tacos with either shrimp or beef needed some work. But great atmosphere and crowd and fairly affordable shot prices.
It was a Friday night before the Wicked play. Made a reservation online in the Lyft ride on the way there for 6pm. Called at 5:57pm to let them know Blake St was closed because of the Rockies game and we had to detour which put us 9 min late to the restaurant. No problem, they hold the reservation for 15 min. Finally got there at 6:12pm. Not only did we get seated tight away, but we were able to sit on the patio! Food was excellent!
Amazing. I always have a fantastic experience at the Rio. It never disappoints.
Rio Grande is a fun, happening place. It’s usually pretty crowded so the people watching is good. I find the staff to be friendly and the food to be fine. I’ve eaten there between five and ten times over the years and each dish I’ve had has been very eatable but you won’t be writing home about it.
I’ll continue to go there.
The hostess acted bothered when I checked in. After we were seated, I received a notification from Open Table that I missed my reservation. Clearly she did not properly check us in. The waitress didn't ask my friend if she wanted her drink blended but brought it blended. When my friend told her that she preferred it on the rocks, she took it back but charged her for both the blended and drink on the rocks. Someone else delivered our food and then we were never checked on again. We had to flag the waitress down to get our check after sitting with no food or drinks for over 30 minutes.
It was amazing food and it showed me that not all platter food is boring. It was great and I saw my whole family there, thank you!
The hostesses were very friendly, the savory food was great but the server was terrible (super slow and inattentive) and the sopapilla was cold and sad and took forever to come out. We probably won’t be back here because the service was bad.
My first visit there, I celebrated Mother’s Day and my daughters birthday.....The food was delicious but Margarita I had was a little strong I couldn’t finish it.....Otherwise it was an awesome visit......
Great place to go for Mexican food while in Denver. Good food, pleasant and efficient staff. Would definitely recommend this place.
The staff there was incredibly helpful and hospitable.
They have great margaritas and are fun place to go with friends. Wouldn't recommend taking friends you want to catch up with as it is fairly loud.
The architecture was cool. Service was good. The food was just so so. Not really flavorful and the tacos we had were dry. The queso just tasted like melted velveeta. It's worth a trip but wouldn't say its worth a second one.
Food and service was great but it was way to loud. Very hard to hear each other
