Rio Brazilian Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
I took my friends to celebrate my birthday on a Monday night and everything was just amazing. The salad bar was full of good food and the meat was perfectly cooked so juicy that we couldn’t stop eating. Our server was a lovely lady always smiling and she brought us a glass of sparkling wine just because it was my birthday. I felt so special on my birthday night and me and my friends strongly recommend this place. Good as always!
How would I rate my experience at Rio Brazillian Steakhouse? Disappointing! To be fair, I give most restaurants a second chance if I’ve had an initial disappointing first experience but not Rio. Went there for lunch to celebrate my birthday so was looking forward to a positive fun time with great food and drinks. Instead, the over-priced meal included a very limited hot buffet and salad bar that were not fresh or re-stocked and the meat service was not continuous. Numerous times the meat server never bothered to come to our table despite there being few lunch customers and our clearly displaying the “Sim por favor” green card. The restaurant lacked any ambiance of Rio and the food lacked any taste of Southern Brazil. The only saving grace was the well-made guava sangria and our friendly attentive Brazilian server.
Rio Steakhouse Churrasco was the real deal Brasilian experience! From the full buffet to the rodizio styled meats that came to the table. The Brasilian cuts of meat were so juicy and perfectly salted. My son, who is Brasilian freaked when they had chicken hearts (corações)!
Only bummer was they didn't have Mandioca, and I saw it in the produce section of the Grandview Highway WalMart. But that's ok, i still give this restaurant 5 stars!
Obrigado, muito bom!
P.s., my Son has already been back for Jantar since I left for home in Michigan Wednesday!
After eating here, I am genuinely surprised at the negative reviews. We ate there yesterday with a larger party, which included two kids, one toddler one older. Everyone absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, everything we ate was incredibly, and it just kept on coming and such a good value for the price paid, especially in Vancouver. The dancers were fun and really helped to change the vibe. If you are going with kids I would recommend going earlier, as it is quieter (we went around 6ish, but stayed for the first dance show then left right after). We are definitely going back at a later date and time without the kids because we all had a blast.
That was the worse restaurant I have ever been in Vancouver. I went with my family for 2018 New Year eve. First we stept in we were ignored for 15 min. The food quality was terrible. Meet was so hard and tastless. The salad bar was mostly caned food which was not acceptable with the price that they charged.i was told over the phone at the booking time that they are going to have live performance for New Year eve, how ever they didn’t have even they regular performance. We paid extra for that. ( more than 400$) I will never go back to that restaurant and recomended.
We went for a hangover dinner after Christmas and it was amazing . Our servers were super friendly and polite. They seemed to enjoy working together. We saw the manager running around helping as they were very busy. The meat was super tender and tasty and the dessert was very good.
The food was good. But, one of the waitresses with blond hairs has a terrible attitude to customers. All of my guests had very bad feelings and poor impression on Rio restaurant because of bad customer service. I would like to recommend the restaurant management team to find a suitable person.
Food and service was ok. Our table did not receive many of the cuts of steak and we didn’t know until after we were eating and saw them at other tables. Music was much too loud for the live entertainment it most definitely did not need to be that loud but was good entertainment. Waitress was very good about the seafood allergy in our group.
My boyfriend and I had a great time here celebrating my birthday on Sunday! We've been to Rio before at their location closer to Denman and West Georgia on a Saturday. Saturdays are more bustling, they have live music & dancing peromances, and they also have the ribs/roast tableside menu items. Sunday was more quiet, but I definitely enjoyed it as an intimate celebration. My waitress was great and brought us extra cheese bread as it's my favorite! I can't wait to come here again :)
The food is exactly like a restaurant in Brazil.
I really appreciate the food, the view, the service and ....have I said food?
The menu for dessert is to small. Brazil has so many options, I thought they would have more, but this doesn't ruined my time there.
The music was nice. All about love and surfing.
Thank you for your time
Very noisy and almost impossible to talk, the music was way too loud and it was crackly canned music. The chicken and top sirloin were good but many other meats were tough. Service was good. The live dancers were a neat touch but that is when they would crank the bad music. It really took away from the experience. Louder is not better.
At first they called to try to put our reservation off for about 3 hours. We obtained the reservation through open table early the day before our reservation. We opted to go a half hour earlier than our original reservation time.
The meat that they advertised would be coming out to us, was not all available by the time we finally left which was over and hour and a half after we arrived for the dinner menu.
The buffet would not be anything I would recommend to anyone.
Fun atmosphere, but I would not say that the food was worth the price we paid.
Food and service were good, but music for the dancers was much too loud and it was impossible to speak to others at the table (or hear the servers clearly) for the duration of the dances. Perhaps the loud music was the restaurant's way of driving out customers so the tables would free up for others waiting?
We had a great time. We went for lunch. The food was delicious, the meat was cut fresh at your table and done to perfection. The customer service was fantastic, everyone was warm, friendly and very attentive. We will definitely make this one of our favorites to go to again. We are already planning to go on a Friday or Saturday night for dinner, as we were told that's when they have dancers and entertainment and also dinner times the food selection is even larger. Great place, would totally recommend.
I’ve been to Brazilian Steakhouses all over the US, and this one in Vancouver was the worse for how the meat was cooked. Almost all of the meats were dry, burnt, and over-cooked. The sirloin and beef ribs were the only exception. Sad that the animals gave up their lives for this poor cooking.
On the positive side, service was excellent, cheesebread was deliciously fresh and warm, and their caipirinha was perfectly limed up. Would not go again unless it was just for the drinks and I wasn’t paying.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated quickly, but were completely ignored after that. No menus, no water, no nothing. Additionally, the restaurant smelled strongly of harsh cleaning products and something like fish. We left the restaurant after sitting for *fifteen minutes* at a table, unable to get the attention of any wait staff. We were deeply disappointed - I had made the reservation for my spouse's 45th birthday, and he had very much been looking forward to the meal. We will obviously not be returning to this restaurant, and will discourage others from going there.
This restaurant is a great place. My only suggestion based on what Ive heard from the Brazillians I know is to add pao de queijo to the buffet. From all other people from around the world and Canadians always say that there are too many mayonaise based salads. Less mayonaise is a good thing.
