Needed to get servers attention at first but once he got to us everything from food to drinks to cleanup and bill came quickly after that. I thought the food was an authentic and tasty. Music was entertaining. We went on Thursday because it was one block from the Palm Springs Street Fair.
We were in Palm Springs for a short vacation. We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant and had read great reviews for the Rio Azul restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We both had the chile relleno and we were not disappointed. One of the best we have ever had. Also great Margaritas!
Was one of a few restaurants recommended by our concierge, when my friends and I were discussing the options someone said that this restaurant is very good, I saw they were on open table and had good reviews so I booked. So happy I did. Prices were reasonable, food and margaritas were excellent, so was the service. Food is traditional Mexican, not texmex, it was so nice to have delicious Mexican food, and sit outside in the cool southwest air with my friends. Highly recommended.
Excellent food, excellent service .... parking is a hassle but that is Palm Springs
Great drag brunch! Great service during the show. There are lots of bachelorette parties that come. Make a reservation because it’s a packed house.
Always delicious and great service. Good value and vibe.
While we chose Rio Azul largely for its proximity to our hotel, it ended up providing the most satisfactory Mexican food I have had during numerous visits to Palm Springs. The menu is fairly wide-ranging, with several vegetarian and fish options. We both ordered Mexican standards; I found my black beans and steak burrito were both well prepared, with the beef in the burrito tenderer and more flavorful than I anticipated. Discounted margaritas, not surprisingly, lacked potency. The patio, where a harpist was playing and singing songs in Spanish, provided a pleasant touch and was much more appropriate for a Mexican restaurant than light-pop hits of the '70s and '80s.
Great as usual.
Was good-didn’t get seated in a romantic area-just stuck out in the middle.
The drag brunch was very entertaining, and the Margarita was delicious
Apparently, this was Adam West's favorite restaurant in Palm Springs. If true, Batman had great taste in Mexican food!
One hour after ordering, the waiter stopped by to tell us that he forgot to put our order in. He then asked us what we ordered. Food has obviously slipped from previous visits. Won’t bother eating here again.
As always exceptional! Tried some new dishes and they were great! Our friends from out of town thought everything was wonderful. Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the valley!
Entire experience was very good as usual
Only comment is that booth seating in the lounge where we were seated is not very comfortable
Mediocre Mexican food, not terrible, not memorable.
We always go to Rio Azul a couple of times during our month in Palm Springs and it never disappoints!
Love the guacamole and salsa and fajitas and tortilla soup and margaritas!
Great time with good friends as always!
Authentic Mexican food prepared with a distinct Spanish flavor. Thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole made at the table. The ceviche was superb. My spouse had the enchiladas which he stated were perhaps the best to date (and we eat a lot of Mexican).
Service was superb. Our waiter was polite and attentive, but not to intrusive. I would give her 5 Stars!!!
We had another wonderful dinner at Rio Azul. The Oaxacan tamale with chili verde was amazing!
great Chimichanga! sneaky Cadillac Margaritas - yummy, but dangerous. good atmosphere outside. didn't check out the inside at all.
Food was great and there were some interesting things on the menu that you don’t see everywhere. Waitress was fun and efficient. We felt welcomed and had a nice evening.
Food was excellent, service was excellent, and the live music was very good. Highly recommend this establishment.
Great time! The bottomless mimosas were flowing, omlette was good and show was fun
Awesome! We were late for our reservation because I took us to a similarly named but wrong restaurant-so we were almost a 1/2 late on a Saturday night! But, Rio Azul team did everything they could to get us seated as quickly as possible. Very organized restaurant- the service was outstanding-friendly- efficient and just right. The food was really great- we started with a margarita and were served chips and salsa- super tasty-shared the calamari- which was tender and the sauce it was served with tasty ! I had THE BEST fish tacos ever for my main meal and hubby had a pulled pork specialty dish which he completely finished. We were too full for dessert but are returning for a second dinner this week- a really great discovery-their entire menu looks tasty!
Great food, service is good as are the margaritas!
Consistently good every time. Best chips and salsa in the desert.
I meet there often with friends for good food and drinks.
Excellent. Don’t miss the Chile verde or the cheese enchiladas. Cadillac margaritas good too
WE had a lovely birthday dinner. And a couple of margaritas too.
Sunday Drag Brunch is great fun. The "girls" are hilarious.
Food was okay. Flavor of the 4 dishes we ordered was pretty bland.
Our waiter was very nice.
With all the options for dining in the area. we will not return.
Lack of staff was Apparent, Food was so so at best
Our server handled our big party amazingly well, she was fantastic!
Went for the Sunday Drag Brunch, great show. good value and great bottomless Mimosas for only $10.
The Dessert Diva Drag brunch was fantastic!!! Thankyou
Really poor service and mediocre food.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Happy hour in the bar is very laid back and you have to try the chicken tacos and steak fajitas.
I've had it with Rio Azul. The food is good but the service is uneven. We frequently dine here on Friday nights but after three mediocre visits, we're not going back. At least on Friday nights.
On our most recent visit we arrived before our reservation time and informed them our group of six was now three. That usually frees-up a 2-top for another party. We still had to wait 15 minutes for our table. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes for our waitress to appear. By then, we were ready to give her our complete order. 45 minutes later, we had been told our food was on its way, she told them to put a rush on it, they dropped it. I finally went to the hostess station but the manager was not there and the hostess was on the phone. Another waiter was there and when I told him the problem he said he'd look into it. A few minutes later he reported that our food would be out in five minutes. Of course, when it arrived, the side dishes were room temp and we had to ask for fresh side dishes. By the time they arrived, we were half-way through our entrees.
To the waitress' credit, she did apologize and comped our order of guacamole and drinks (two iced teas. Probably $15). Having experienced long delays on our previous two visits we have decided that we are not going back for a while and when we do, it won't be on a Friday night. It appears that the kitchen cannot keep-up with the crowd on Friday nights. On a slower night it might be ok.
The food was great and the margaritas were delicious! We tried this restaurant on our trip to Palm Springs and would definitely go there again! The food and service were outstanding!
