The Ringside is the best steakhouse and fine dining establishment in Portland, hands down. Everything was delicious.
Classic Portland restaurant with great food and top notch service.
Best bar in town and amazing service. Go to place for old school vibe.
Let's start by saying a trip to Portland always has an agenda to visit the Ringside. From the dinks to the food, you can't go wrong here. Scott was our waiter and as usual, he was amazing and his service was second to none! This particular dinner was something to look forward to in our current Covid times. We noticed they cleaned all the tables and chairs to make sure that they were being diligent with their practices for a safe dining experience, The bone in ribeye, baked potato, ahi tuna plate and salads were awesome. Did someone mention onion rings? A trip to the Ringside without them is not worth going in my opinion. Anyhow, hats off to Scott and the staff. Not to mention a glass with Blanton's on the rocks made this an ideal experience that I was able to share with my amazing woman!
Love the Ringside. Andy Merklin is fantastic! Our waitress was outstanding.
We were a little hesitant to have a table outside, but it was actually very nice. They lead you through the restaurant to a tent set up in the back. It reminded me of an outdoor wedding reception with cafe lights and a faux wood vinyl floor. It was slightly chilly, but they had warned us to bring a jacket if we wanted to. I was glad I did. I could see it getting cold out there if it was raining or windy, but I don’t think that wouldn’t stop me from going.
The service was impeccable as usual. Food delicious and hot. They had all the items we normally order on the menu and the onion rings were perfect.
We will definitely go to Ringside again, I was glad they found a way to let us show our support to them and their employees during this interesting time.
Steaks were disappointing
Rib eye ($60+) was tough n filled with gristle
Filet mignon was over cooked
Baked potato was miniature and mealy
Enjoyed a fantastic “birthdays” dinner with a friend. Everything was perfect - from the food and drinks, to the service, to the outdoor seating area. Beautiful. Thank you, RingSide!
It was a busy Friday night as we showed up at 7:30 for our reservation. We sat in the bar. Our waiter was trying hard but it took 30 minutes to get our onion rings. So that was disappointing. We ordered spinach as a side dish that never showed up. It was not what we have come to love at ringside, where their service is superb. We were happy to support one of our favorite spots. Just wish the kitchen could have gotten our appetizer and our dinner out quicker.
Seated next to kitchen door resulting in a dining atmosphere more like Red Robin than upscale steak restaurant
Awesome experience, service, and food ... as usual!!
THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING!!! The steak was mouth-watering and amazing!!! Cooked to perfection!!! The baked potatoe and mushrooms were delectable!!! The customer service was A+, the severer was delightful and suggested the most yummy Reisling which I got two glasses of😊😊😊 this has been a long time favorite of mine and I’m glad I came back for my bday dinner🥳🥳🥳
Ringside has adapted to COVID so well. We ate in the tent and it was seamless. The food was perhaps the best I have had there. So impressed.
We have gone every year On our anniversary for 66 years and once again it was great thank you
Filets were dry and definitely needed a sauce on top.
My favorite place in Portland but I am so tired of all of the Covid restrictions and masks. It's long overdue to stop this madness!
Service was impeccable. From the valet to the host/hostesses to our server and all those we did not interact with: kitchen and bar staff. Everybody did their part to pamper us and make date night special. Our server, I can’t remember her name (short hair on the sides, long up front, bubbly personality) was just absolutely amazing and fun to interact with. The couple across the way seemed high maintenance and she handled them expertly. Her wine recommendations were excellent and everyone was very attentive. Looking forward to another meal when life brings us back to Portland. Thank you RingSide.
Consistently excellent food & service. Can't go wrong with Ringside.
Ringside is a true classic! A traditional steak house with great food and great service. I've eaten at steak houses all around the world, and Ringside remains my favorite!
We had a wonderful experience. Our server was excellent. The food was spectacular and the wine was delicious.
It was our 12th wedding anniversary. We saved up to have dinner at the Ringside. My husband's favorite cut of meat is Prime Rib and he was so looking forward to to having it. I personally am not a steak person. So I usually have the delicious Hamburger. Of course we order the Onion rings first!! Unbeknown to us, they do not serve the full menu because of the pandemic. My husband couldn't order his Prime Rib and I couldn't order my Hamburger. We were disappointed to say the least. So my husband chose the Ribeye, and I ordered the chicken. Well, it turned out that he liked the Ribeye better than the Prime Rib! And me, who doesn't eat steak, took a bite of his steak . It was so good! I would order that next time! So we ended up liking our meal very much.
What a treat it is to enjoy a dinner at Ringside. A family-owned Portland icon that continues to deliver quality meals and exceptional service.
I have great memories of my parents taking me to Ringside for a special meal. This time I introduced my husband to Ringside - and their onion rings! The steaks were perfect and the service friendly. We’ll be back!
The down-grade from 5 stars is due strictly to COVID precautions. I didn't feel welcomed or wanted; I felt like I was a potential infection and not much more. Server wore a mask AND a face shield. When she retrieved silverware, she used a glove. There was an expectation that I wear a mask except when actually eating. I couldn't hear what she was saying clearly. Ridiculous. I know it's the rules, but ridiculous.
I will be back, but not until masks are nothing but an unpleasant memory because the experience was not the upscale dining I was seeking.
I've been hearing about RingSide for years, and it did not disappoint. I had the onion rings, rib eye (med-rare), sautéed pole beans, and the Granny Smith apple crisp for dessert. Everything was incredibly delicious, the service was excellent, and I look forward to coming back again.
We go to Ringside every year for the prime rib we had on our first date there 12 years ago. The Coronavirus has exposed us to many new experiences. Now there is prime rib only on Wednesday night, so instead we discovered their amazing steak, mine with a chunk of lobster on top. Somehow, the baked potatoes are always five times better than the ones I make at home. The price is steep, but there was plenty leftover for the next day. We had only one issue: the outdoor dining space, while well-executed, was stark and plain. More plants or fabrics or something creative would be good. (See Cafe Nell.) Indoors, the environment was as warm and cozy as ever.
Comfortable atmosphere, amazing food, outstanding wait staff.
We sat in the outside space for health and safety reasons. It definitely lacked the same vibe as the inside, but... safety first. Our server was good and we had our water glasses attended to regularly. Food was as good as it always is, so that was very satisfying. I miss being inside, but clearly others are not concerned as we were. The interior of the restaurant felt at Covid capacity as we exited. I am personally not ready for that. I think they could spruce up their outdoor space and they will definitely need to add heaters if they are going to continue to serve outside. I'd also suggest blankets (yes they need to be one use and then disinfected), but not sure if this is realistic.
Amazing food. Amazing service. We will be coming back.
Ringside took good precautions with COVID-19 safety measures, and we felt very safe and taken care of. Easy parking, delicious food and excellent service! Would recommend for sure.
As always, a great dinner at Ringside. Still our favorite steakhouse in Portland. Outside was very comfortable and hope to see it still enjoyable in the colder months.
Still my favorite steakhouse in Portland. Service and food quality always excellent.
The food was better than ever. The best steak I’ve ever had.
We have previously dined at Ringside many times and have typically had excellent service and enjoyed delicious dinners. This visit was superior to all prior visits. Scott, our server, was exceptional, with a great sense of humor and just the right amount of attentiveness. He was a delight. Our dinners were all even better than we have experienced in the past. A lovely evening. Thank you Ringside.
The wife and I are so pleased The Ringside has reopened! It's our all time go to dining establishment. The food was outstanding and the service was as expected excellent. Our family will making many trips there in the future.
Excellent service, COVID regulations were observed and well-maintained, excellent parking/arrival process, the Ringside remains a Portland favorite!
As always, RingSide Steakhouse hits it out of the park with dry-aged ribeye and just the right amount of table service to make things pleasant. My medium-rare steak was HUGE, juicy and full of beefy flavor. The sides were phenomenal--baked potato with all of the extras, sweet and buttery squash with chevre and herbs, creamed spinach. The desserts were lovely--particularly the cassis ice cream which tastes like wine and something I'd never had before. Considering the recent health scares the restaurant has weathered the storms beautifully and it has not affected RingSide's stellar service. I will soon be back!
Great food and great service. Ate outside under the tent and everything was fine.
Very friendly efficient staff, from the parking lot greeting and the quick and easy check in getting to our table. Warm atmosphere with fabulous food and drink. Everything was perfectly prepared and our server Derek made our dinner experience very nice for Anniversary.
Sometimes we forget how much we LOVE the Ringside! Not only was our service fabulous, cocktails were good and reasonably priced. But the Prime Rib was outstanding quality. The fresh grated horseradish was a welcome addition, and the Yorkshire pudding (which I usually leave on the plate) was perfect with the super flavorful au jus. Covid 19 hasn't stopped your commitment to perfection! Keep up the good work.
I loved the outdoor venue. Social distanced and far enough apart for privacy. The waiters seemed to work together and if one noticed a need at out table it was taken care of immediately. Our waiter was very busy and when it came time to pay the bill one of the teammates picked up our card and our waiter brought it back.
